before the big bang there was nothing time didnt exist this makes the *big Crunch theory* bigger. What im trying to say is The last *Universe* got overwhelmed with gravity thus happening to get destroyed by the big crunch and when that happened mabye there was more *outward* pressure then inward making the universe to *expand* *explode* in that moment. Think about it. Its a very very possible explanation for the *universe* mabye we are losing matter in the universe so soon it may end eventually.
@ToothNroost Kinda reminds me of the "white hole" theory. At the end of black holes some believe that "white holes" are spitting out matter faster than the speed of light and creating universe. But it's kind of a stretch but eh who knows. never been inside a black hole before.
@lamaneuker2 It'a not the fact that your mind is human that prevents you from understanding - every person featured in that video, Krauss in particular, understands this stuff very well, and they are human too.
The only reason you can't understand is that you have neglected your education.
@lamaneuker2 are you completely stupid? You know the word "theory" in the science community has a completely different meaning than the traditional "theory" you seem to think it is. "Theory" from the scientific point of view is a model that has overwhelming amounts of evidence for it and has also never been proven wrong. It however, can not be considered FACT until all other "theories" have been debunked and considered false. Nice try. Good bye, sucker.
I think God created the big bang, perfection doesn't come this good with out a creator and some being behind it, then you have the whole thing about spirit and personality, without God we would be like a tree, void of all knowledge, interest and conscience.
"The idea that our Universe was once tiny, originated from the brilliant work of american astronomer Edwin Hubble." Uh, no! The idea that our Universe was once tiny originated from the Astronomer and Roman Chatolic priest George Lamaitre, the father of the Big Bang model. What Hubble discovered was that the Universe was expanding, the idea did not originate from him.
Krauss is the guy who believes 2+2=5 (Craig vs Krauss). He believes the hydrogen became human story. Where did the information come from???
There is no known law of nature, no known process and no known sequence of natural events which can cause specified information to originate by itself in matter. Therefore the origin of information must be non natural and non material. The concept of information is DEVASTATING to materialistic philosophy, always has been. Naturalism Fails.
In the beginning there was nothing.. but a tiny fireball full of all of space.. LOL ARE U RETARDED?? HOW CAN YOU SAY IT GOT THERE BY ITSELF?? GOD IS REAL, IDIOTS!
@undonexrsps I know how to type, cunt. Saying that in the beginning there was NOTHING.. but a ball of universe that got there by itself is retarded and idiotic. and if you believe it you are as stupid as the dumbshits in this documentary.

WHAT THE WHOLE FUCKING UNIVERSE IS GONNA DIE! HOW...REALLY HOOOW! WILL IT EXPLODE! id rather die in 2012 :P but what will happen? will... it just disappear or die out or a nuclear power stronger then mankind
Beside what we see is the after math of what happen billions of years ago. Our earth is the after math of our solor system blewing up. Our time here on earth is different from time in space. We mankind are the last kind to witness the worst aftermath.
@80maciek Completely silent. Sound doesn't travel in a vacuum. Also, the Big Bang wasn't an explosion but rather the rapid inflation of space itself from nothing. :)
BTW, in some comments i read "the Universe is Logical"...
thats totally wrong, SCIENCE is Logical, OUR DESCRIPTION of the things around us is Logical.....because the Logic is the tool of our intelligence, it is what makes us human...logic is the evolution from the Pre-Human (animals) to the modern Human...to US
im thinking scientist make stuff up as they go. thats why there are so many theories floating around. i think before the universe there was batman and superman, superman farted which were the building blocks for life. i call it super fart theory
So... the universe has always existed either dying itself out or re-creating itself? You cannot pull something out of nothingness it is illogical and out of the realm of human understanding of natures laws. Nothingness has never existed. The universed cannot be expanding into nothingness because that would mean that the universe was created from nothingess. There is no boundary edge between the universe and the other side... being nothingess.
@Andriaccini if you believe something can't come from nothing, then how can the universe exist forever it it is a natural thing? Natural things don't exist forever, they are created. I think a god or "intelligence"if you wanna call it probably exists forever since it's probably beyond our senses and can do things we can't understand.
why do people think that you have to reject god to accept the big bang,or vice versa for many of the fundamentalist christians. Im christian and i accept the big bang. There is no need to reject it because the bible gives no age for the universe. What makes it even easier is the fact that a christian(George lemaitre ) was the one who developed the theory in the first place....
"It is impossible to create something from nothing, so I just believe that universe has always existed." You realize that you're contradicting yourself, right? It's impossible for something to exist without having an origin; therefore, the universe cannot be it's own creator. One of your statements is wrong. Without knowing and proving every law of physics, it's impossible to prove how the universe came about.
scientists all have different theories and supported by different evidence, evidence should all point to the same conclusion, thats what i think, ive seen so much theories on youtube so far, and they contradict one another all the time, so who should i believe?
the more we know, the more we find out we don't know, we will never get closer to the truth about the beginning, scientists are believing in something they will never get to the bottom of.
the universe started 13billion years ago?.. dayum thats long, but is this evidence 100% certain? no mistakes, because there should be no room for error when trying to explain the existence of everything..
NO! We all know The Mighty One - Our Lord and Saviour - Jesus Christ did it 6,000 years ago. Don't believe me? Read The Bible, the most scientifically accurate book in the world. It has to be, it is the word of God, because He is infinitely good and knows we can be too. Pray to Him and He will enlighten you and make you good too, because we are all born with sin in our souls. God bless you.
We may be insignificant in the universe but because of our technological advancements, innovations, etc. we are definitely capable of understanding the whole universe. God is a traditional, cultural, and lazy approach that existed when they thought the Earth was flat. Now it's time to throw out god and look at the bigger picture. We discovered other lifeless planets, stars, and galaxies. So who's to say that our universe is the only one? Herald the new cosmic paradigm shift...parallel universes.
without religion the world would be mess up without science the world would also go no where without religion and science we still be in a cave but you can not argue religion with science they are both different enities
This is where you need to learn about the bubble theory. It explains that when 2 membranes of matter collide, it creates an explosion in which parts of the membranes break off and attach onto each other and start to grow.
It seems to me a bit silly that universe was at a size of a marble then expanding then becomes a size of marble again then expanding and the same again and again. It makes it paranormal in my opinion, so does its forever existence. The universe hasn't got infinite matter and gives us the chance to understand many things to it. So his 'life' is not infinite. If it had infinite 'life' it would have infinite matter too and we wouldn't understand any part of it.
@sirunlalalaHawking and many other physicists have a very elegant explanation for how quantum potentials can accomplish this. Think of it this way: All matter is made of energy, so really this is a universe of energy. Energy is comprised of wavelengths and particles, which are really just different kinds of force-fields. Those fields are nothing more than condensed product potentials within the fabric of space-time itself. "Something" vs "nothing" is somewhat an illusion; it's all the same stuff
Maybe an exact zero point of existance is energy, because it cant be destroyed or created from nothing, but can turn into matter. Maybe first there was only energy, and it had been always there or something, and those things are so complicated that a human cannot simply understand, like for example, we cant imagine a 4 dimensional world. It doesn't fit on our heads. Same likely, this theory might not fit in our heads. We need to be much more intelligent.
Maybe our universe will later shrink back to the size of that marble and then will expand again, and maybe it has done that always. There has always been something. It is impossible to create something from nothing, so I just believe that universe has always existed.
@Andriaccini Actually the expansion/contraction theory of the universe has been abandoned mainly because dark matter & dark energy is pushing the universe apart faster than the speed of light, far overpowering its own gravitational pull. The farther out you go, the faster it's flying away, so by the time this effect dies out the celestial bodies will be so far away that gravity won't be able to reach it all. Energy will die out gradually and the universe will go out with a whimper, not a bang.
@Andriaccini universe has may be always existed and that is the standard idea of physics so far.. but not religious.... religion creates big hurdles. and i dont know where its gonna lead us.... science is real and exciting but i dont know whats religion (iam theist though)
@Andriaccini i agree! but my question is how was it created if it was always there, a real thinker isn't it. The universe is just too amazing with its mysteries :)
@Andriaccini, current observation points to a run-away expansion of the universe (of space) at a rate higher than the speed of light. The universe will expand forever and ever and might experience the Big Rip. If the present Universe will not collapse into the Big Crunch, it would mean that a cyclic universe never happened in the infinite past. A universe at the time when it has infinite density is bound to expand since with that small size quantum effects will make it repulsive.
It's probably gonna be a loop... we're gonna die when the Big Cluster or i forgot what it's called happens, and then the universe is born again, and then i'm probably gonna post this comment again, and then it ends again and so on.
@Andriaccini That makes so much sense. Maybe there really is no time, no future, no past, only the present that exists in a never ending circle of life.
the universe allways existed and will ever exist, it just improves itself all the time
like we are the improvement of animals, and animals are the improvement lower lifeforms etc. and the earth is an improvement of the galaxies (because very old galaxies are kinda easy "constructed")
the "BigBang" maybe was just an improvement of something existent before
so, maybe our existence was probably an unpreventable improvement of the universe
Who knows if something can be created out of nothing. Human logic only doesn't melt things like that and that's why we think it's impossible. Quantum fluctuation is proved to be possible, thoug. (Virtual particles are created out of nothing and disappear almost instantly)
@Andriaccini There is a theory called the big crunch which basically says that, however, today most scientists don't accept it. There's also the big freeze, and big rip, the later needing the existence of dark energy to be possible.
@Andriaccini This theory is referred to as the big crunch, but that's sort of been debunked by the fact that the universe's expansion is accelerating rather than slowing,
