Love all the lizzy axemen -from eric bell to midge ure to Sykes ...& all in between -but i must say ...Mr gorham has been the biggest influence on my playing -so - My tip of the hat 2nd best era :Eric bell - 1st : Robbo and scott .
Its a bit sad ....when you say thin lizzy people go "boys are back " ....so much more to em than that ....i love this band -like an old friend . PS: scott : Get your arse to australia !!!!!
Mr Gorham is really a sweet guy. Just beeíng himself , took the time with the press. Is there any rock docum about Thin Lizzy.. Have always been docum about Black S, Deep P, Pink F. What about T H..?
I miss Phil to!!!Love the guy,he should still be here with us!!!R.I.P. Phil...Will never forget you!!!You the Best!!!!Still In Love With You!!!!No one can sing that one like you!I love how he always changed the words to it. The best is when he says Me Mom is in the audience .... Playing this for her<3
Wonderful interview Scott and thanks for keeping Phil's spirit alive. Wishing bright blessings for the tour and I am looking forward to seeing you on the 22nd Jan.
mojo seriously threatens to bore. for a magazine that savours its retro element, there are too many yawns between their features on beatles/stones/syd ...who sub edits this rag? mistakes abound. in short. i should really ditch this mag. but instead im showing it up for the 50 per cent ads/20 per cent filler/30 per cent vintage pop journo rag it is. macca-ass licka monthly needs to slim down on filler and up the editorial. and please-no more mojo ceremony features-who fcking cares?
Robbo,Scott,Brian and Phil, the most potent line up ever,Wish i had been their manager and stamped on some egos, telling them, listen! these combinations only happen once in a lifetime so shut the fuk up and get on with it,dont be thinking oh i/ll start my own band and have my own success,eh, Wild Horses e,g, we might still have Phil with us,
I don't understand why the interviewer says that the Robbo era is probably the era they remember the least! It was the golden era of Thin Lizzy! It ended abruptly, yes, but it was their best time!
@Fangalatic He probably was referring to the bands excesses...some people remember what they did when they were smashed, some don't (you get me?). I saw that classic line-up in '77 in NYC (Paladium)...this after aborted attempts due to Phil's hepatitis and Robbo punching walls cancelling succesive tours (think, they were to open for Rainbow in Asbury Park...didn't know they weren't going to show, and we ended up with Henry Gross (who?)...How fantastic a double bill that would have been.
I'm so glad that Lynott has been officially recognised with an award like this, and even happier to learn that he's been recognised with other awards too.
@unlikeanyotherhuman thanks, and they also should be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame agest ago. Because everyone call Phil Lynott The Rocker or Rock Legend!
Although not my fave band in the world, I did see Thin Lizzy three times and I have to say they delivered an excellent gig. Phil seemed like a really genuine guy and I always felt he appreciated that people had paid there hard earned money to see his band - and boy, did he deliver on the night. He just loved being the showman !.
The rest of the band were great too !. Loved it when Robbo was with them.
Man o man do people love cut down everything they see, pretty easy from your living room right? Scott Gorham and the rest of Thin Lizzy put the goods out through pure rock-n-roll sweat and your worried about line-ups? Lizzy is a REAL band and always will be. Cheers, to the brothers.
nothing more crass imo than this magazine's continual inclusion of awards...just stick to articles on music...this award photoshoot and balloney is becoming a reAL cop out. mojo is becoming a copout. just do articles. stop doing photoshoots of large groups of musicians and then a breakdown of what stupid mojo award they won. pathetic copy generating filler. ridiculous.
Gotta love the inteviewers statement at2.27 what the? i wonder in his opinion who he thinks is a great song writer. Scott obviously suffers fools well!! A true legend.
in case anyone should accuse Scott as as being slightly racist here in these PC times,to see a black Irish bass playing front man ,playing contemporary rock music, extraordinarily well, would have been a shock to anyone.
This dude is still using..I love the sunken cheeks

Great rock n roll, have a few beers and your off.
Air guitar here we come.
The thing was after out in the fields we all thought he was coming back
I felt a bit cheated when he died.
But thats because I was young and you think like that , why did he have to go..
