  • Mummy, what are you doing?

  • Saw Dwezil Zappa plays Zappa last night in Santa Cruz Ca. what a great show-even got his autograph and pix.

  • The band great as usual. Cool with Scott Thunes on base. But Moon don´t you remember your own song, sorry to say it but this is lame. Sorry.

  • terrible

  • Thunes on bass ?

  • @Duplmar Yup. Can't hear him at all. The only thing that made this song great was the bass, and they've mixed it out of existence. Too bad. I'm surprised he isn't using a pick; he said the only way you could play it was with a pick.

  • Aww that is soo cute. The little girls seems like she is having a blast helping out mom.

  • Frank deserves it so much to have his kids carrying on with his music, what can make a father more proud, thnx Dweezil

  • Moon came home from the Galleria in Sherman Oaks speaking "Valspeak" and Frank thought it was great. So, he wrote the song, then she improvised over top of the song in five takes. He cut the takes up ... picking what he liked from all five and making the final recording.

Then the song became his only hit. So, Moon made Frank and family a lot of money, but either she or Frank didn't want to go out on the road with it. In 1984, she was still in school and by '88 she was working as a VJ.

  • Scott Thunes on bass!!!!!!

    Go Scott!!! ;-)

  • @cfibb he played with frank right

  • Nice video!

  • is this on dvd? is a performance of this song on the dvd?

  • remember HOLLYWOOD VIDEO? In the cult section, there was a movie, starring Zappa's kids, including Moon, where they got 'naked", I forgot the name of it. Anybody remember?

  • I enjoyed watching Moon's sister Diva dance on the side of the stage during the encore of my first ZPZ show (June 2006). Wow - ZPZ is five years old? Wow.

  • So Bitchen!

  • Loved it !!

Will see Dweezil In Manchester later this month.

    Really looking forward to it.

  • @Bk19731973: You Sack Sniffing Jackwagon! Get a clue Numbnuts!

  • This is fantastic!

  • @Bk19731973 R U KKK???

  • Moon's still a babe. And I've always loved her personality and spirit. Good to see Dweezil paying homage to his dad by playing Frank's old SG guitar.Yeah, both Moon and Dweezil come from a pretty cool family. Looks like Moon's daughter has some Zappa in her, too. ;) I'm proud to have been born in the San Fernando Valley!!!

  • まだこんな小さい娘がいるの?もう良い歳だと思ってたが。

  • Matilda's having a ball. Three generations right there if you count the composer :)

  • all of those who read bk1973's Racist Ignorant Disrespectful comment and believe they should be punished 1840's style Please Thumbs Up!!!!

  • haha....they should get her daughter to sing it....keep the faith alive :)

  • @Bk19731973 Well, first of all Frank Zappa and his family would support your right to express yourself however you'd like. Although your negativity makes no sense. If you are a fan of FZ, then you'd know that his family is up there performing to celebrate him. If you aren't, then why are you watching this? Also - why is another person's background any of your business? You might want to become a bit more introspective and educate yourself. Good luck in life - I think you'll need it!

  • @Bk19731973 Yeah, Moon's hair is the thing that's embarassing here. *rolls eyes*

  • GO MATILDA!!!!

  • she is reading the lyrics

  • @mscalabrino238

If you sang that originally, you would want to forget it too!

  • Dweezil is really starting to look like Frank.

  • Once you get past the comedic value of this song (and not to mention others straight back into the early Mothers stuff like Brown Shoes and Mother People) you realize that the music is absolutely amazing! Frank was a musical genius, and I hope one day will go down in history as one of the most prolific and intelligent of composers of the 20th century. Kudos to Dweezel and the FPF band for pulling it off live.

  • Finally a live version of this song!

  • Why is she reading the lyrics? I know every word to this song

  • @drujon - As Bobby Martin said in an Interview, sometimes the Fans end up remembering more than the Artists do. I think mainly because while the Fans only have to listen to it and remember it cause they love it, the Band Members have to remember it cos its their Job. After that they have other thigns to learn to, so a prompt like a Sheet of Lyrics or Music is good to help.

  • Right on Bakka

  • waar was dit?..

  • great post !! THNX !!

  • Great vid, thanks for uploading. And especially cool to see both Moon Unit and Scott Thunes on the Zappa stage!

  • Moon is still really beautiful but she was hot in her 20s. If Frank brought her to Stockholm '88 and I had known about it, I would have asked him for the permission to meet her using the words "I really like your music, but Moons eyes and lips beat that big time". If I was allowed to meet her I would probably have told her "Hi, uhm ... uhm ... uhm" as a 17-18 year old swedish guy maybe would have. That stuttering of mine would have meant "You are really beautiful and I want to kiss and hug you."

  • Excellent!

  • Is that Eric Bana singing?

    W!nn!ng?!?!?!

  • RIP Frank. RI-fucking-P!

There will NEVER be another Frank. I'm 61...and still a "Mother!"

  • @SoreBakka Me too my friend, me too. My lumpy gravy is at about phase 7 now.

  • First Yes that is Scott you can tell by his dancing/headbanging he also was in Dweezil and Ahmet's band Z for a short time though he is Very Hard to get along with Frank and the boys seem to love the guy

Amazing Video i feel fortunate to have seen it Thank You SOOOO Much

  • Since Matilda has Frank's b-day, let's all pray and PRAY HARD that she grows up to challenge the 'conventional wisdom' of today's music and moves it to change from within - GOD KNOWS WE NEED THAT!!!

  • BARF OUT!

  • sucked

  • Thanks to MrCOTL for producing and editing this rare and awesome video!!

  • It is the first time Moon performed it live. Moon never performed it live with Frank or any other band.

  • @dweezilzappaworld Who is that on base?

  • @kiwivogel it might be scott thunes, who played in frank's band in the 80's.

  • @thomashoffman That's what i was thinking... I thought he had quit music alltogether though...

  • @kiwivogel it`s Scott Thunes,the reason for finished the tour `88

  • Its not the first time it was performed live, but great vid anyway ! :D
