guillermo you are probably portuguese jewish descent, acevedo is portuguese jewish name not spanish, so many portuguese jews fled the inkisition into spanish colonys they thought portuguese were all jews, until today portuguese is synonimous of jewish in many parts of american latina... i wouldnt say 50% of spanish have sephardic blood but about 20%, another 10% have moorish blood

a lot of Hispanic people today have sephardic jew in them because of many years of jews going to the iberian peninsula and mixing with the native population and of related peoples going to the Iberian peninsula(Carthagians(a lot of them were from present day lebanon), southern italians, greeks, anatolians, arabs, etc.
