  • i have a question.. i have unshorn hair but i have not started wearing a paag (the real turban) but rather a patka as its easier and more convenient. isit a must for me to switch to a paag eventually? i have not learnt how to tie one yet.

  • @SinghWingh dear according to ur age u shud move ur self... if u r already crossed 12~15 u must wear a turban... u can learn frm any person it would be free.. according to ur turban ur personality would be develop ...

  • This all happened bcoz I belong to Jatt Sikh family ppl think jatts can do anything cutting hair my bro tells me even sometimes to cut beard but I never Jatts call other Sikhs bhapa"s I think atleast bhapa"s are better than others atleast majority of them will not be wearing smart turbans but atleast they are in Sikhi Saroop:/

  • Well It depends on personality My bro also trims beard and wear a very nice turban although every girl is behind him etc I also wear a very nice smart turban but I think I love my guru and not the girls I xplained my bro to come back again in your old image but he says that Girls do'nt like it now it has become habit for him goin to saloon and trimming beard thats sad but true in this modern and fashionable world ppl see girls around them they have desires :( so read gurbani not 2 go on dis

  • awesome job its a msg to all who cut their hairs and beards

  • Well realize just 1 thing folks, wotever is in fashion flows and other things are thrown....... kade socheya pagg nu fashion bnaun de vaare, main socheya, m just a student but i just need a capital of 40-50 lakh rupees to make my turban a fashion even among hindus. Just wait for a few years, i promise wat u'll see will seem like a miracle. i promise. n 1 thing more, human psychology- "wotever is cncted wid religion is uncool", dont jus cnct turban wid religion, cnct it wd jus fashion n c d reslt

  • @arshdeep61

bro the thing is that not everyone can afford expensive things....instead of having ur fashionable pagg that u'll give to me on an investment of 40-50 lakhs i`ll prefer the one my guru blessed me on the investment of abt 40-50 lakh sacrifices(very very costly u knw.....people like you cant afford)

  • @sat9193

bro i guess u got my words to a different meaning.... Main v ikk pakka sardar aa, te main fashion concious v aa naale main sikh history v baut padhda aa..... i know wot sacrifices our ancestors gave. But the thing is latta de bhut galla naal nai mannde. Bai j asi ikk monne sardar nu aa kahiye v pagg bann lai, o bannuga?? nai. But j main ohnu aa show kra v aa turban teri ess monne look naalo v kaim hai, cool hai, ta o sikh bann jauga?? Haa. Thots diff ne yaar, but path same..

  • @arshdeep61 veere asi sikh ais layi nahin bane ki asi fashion kar sakiye, te sohniya paggan baniye sakiye taan ke kudiya saade magar paihn.

  • @arshdeep61

i dont wanna look cool bro....m born cool....all a person requires is a confidence and faith in what he is gifted

  • @sat9193 , te bai, presentable lagna zaruri hai, te ikk pakka succha sardar kaim lgda hai te hor ehnance kr skda hai ess competing world ch j o pagg taur vaali banne. • Finally, someone has taken forward some excellent strides with media. Well done

  • Thanks veer g ... wake up sikhs ...

  • Awesome Just Awesome..Dont Have words to explain the feelings.... Thanxs to baba g that i am born Punjabi...Proud to be punjabi.........

  • it was very nice short film, that is already one way how to share our sikh faith to the people.. That was very nice.I THANK WHO DIRECTED THIS FILM .BOLE SONIHAL,SAT SRI AKAL

  • i never had a turban or grew my hair but now i really need to after watching this...

  • one question why does he dumb his hair into the river?

    mad respect from brampton canada

  • @somenextguy357

bro its called "jalprawaah karna" in punjabi...its in our rehat maryada that precious things like kesh(like dead hairs which come out by getting stuck in comb), gurbani literature(very old - in unusable form) etc. should be respectfully flown in river instead of throwing them smwhere as garbage..in the movie when jasmeet realises the importance of his hair and his mistake of throwing them in garbage in hatred, then he respectfully flows them in river with teary eyes

  • Well i think the most important is to learn guru's vichar than this............................I cut my hairs and beard.....but i do path everyday and never drink...............now I believe that i am much better sikhs who have hairs and beard but they take alcohol and other such acts.........................................Plz dnt take that I am against sikhi saroop.thnx

  • @vishav589

u r very right ...most important is to learn guru's vichar....and the day u will understand them properly rather than doing path like reading a book...u'll understand everything :)

and yes there is no such term like better sikh, a lil better sikh etc....be it or dont be it..

and rather than always comparing urselves to what others are doing, be righteous to urself only...because when u give an exam u dont think like if others are gonna fail , m gonna fail too

  • @sat9193 Very well said Sat Veerji... akal purakh made everyone sikh in this world but people become non-sikh later in their life by cutting hairs and beard and everything.. What Guru Nanak patshah did was just to tell people that you are no other than roop of akal purakh, its not very hard to be sikh, just don't do what you are not suppose to do.. Vishav veer, you are right, you are doing something good by listening to guru's bani...

  • @vishav589 & sat9193 ..... u r nt right mere veer ....... being in sikhi roop is must for all sikhs .... if a person cut downs his hair ... he's nt a sikh . a sikh is identified by his hair nd turban ...... v were made babbar sher by GURU GOBIND SINGH JI ... ND u must hav seen a babbar sher , he has long hairs .

so if anybody is saying dat one is sikh, even after cutting down his identity or hairs .... he's actually sayin dis to GURU GOBIND SINGH JI's ....

    PEACE ....

  • @vishav589 bro frst of all if uh dnt hve hair ur nt a sikh,,,,,\

  • @vishav589 so bad that u do't have hair,

  • @vishav589 U talking about guru's vichaar in that case brother guru's vichaar is to remain natural. And first rehat is to be with kesh than naam japna... Guru will b glad if u learn & follow Guru's vichaar...

  • @vishav589

first step towards sikhism to is to have hairs....tenth lord said dat a prsn wid shorn hairs is not a sikh....

  • @vishav589 no dear... Kesh Guru di mohar... without kesh how u can define u r a sikh... same thing in this movie they show.... Khalsa da roop nyara hunda hai... if there are hundred or million ppl are standing but in that million ppl even single sikh can identify very easily & diff. even ur doing path or nt having alcohol but w'out khande di pahul n w'out sikh u r not a real sikh...

  • @vishav589

on your comment my question to you is that what stops you from taking that identity of a sikh and not cut your hair

are you afraid of being a sikh??????

does it really effect on your personality or how people will thinkk of you

cos you know what people like you talk all this crap about how they are so gr8 and bla bla and dont realise the importance of promoting our religion and you just change the religion accrording to your own convinience

    no offence as well

  • @vishav589 no offence but it is so very imprtant to pass on this religion to ur comin generation with strong beliefs & the identity which is significant as it'ill always & i repeat always remind them of who they r and remind them to not do nythng wrong

& that is why it is so important that we take on that identity with us.

i get your point for "sikhs who take alcohol" and i would say that is so very true and i hope these ppl realise the negative view they are providing to our religion 4 others

  • Graet Message ............ :)

  • Miserable mentallity...

  • Sikh Gurus must be in a mood of Facepalm seeing the stupid videos being uploaded on youtube regarding pride of religion etc.

You my fellow Sikhs, are killing Sikhism and not realizing its liberal nature...

Learn from the first Guru , Guru Nanak himself...he let his children follow the faith they wanted to follow.... they had their own sects and religion - Bhai Lakhmi chand and Bhai Shri Chand...

and Stop shoving Sikhism up the throat of your kids, it will destroy the piousness of it!

  • Awesome work

    Keep it up. :)

  • @harrybhmra123

I know but for your knowledge The name our Tenth Guru is Shri Guru Gobind Singh ji

    Prakash-1666

    Jyoti Jyot:-1708

    Gurta Gaddi:-1675

His banis are Jap Sahib, Twaparsad Swayea, Akal Ustat, Chaupai Sahib, Bachitra Natak etc. Its debated by scholars if he really wrote all banis with Mukhwak patshahi Daswi or some were written by others.

I just cannot understand the basis of your personal attack here.

Either have courage to discuss or chnge your name to illiteratebhmra123

  • I am very interested to show a life of a Turbaned young guy in US who comes and in what all situations he goes through. Contact me at daman.delta@gmail.com if you are feel it can be nice topic and a source of inspiration about how to tackle the issue os Mistaken Identity in US and other countries.

  • Excellent video. Keep doing such good work. People are forgetting 3 basic things which should be incorporated in ones life to be a better citizen: Sewa, Wand ke chukna and Naam Japna.

As I came to US in 2009 , I myself have been in situations (mistaken Identity by Americans) where i started thinking to trim down my hair, but with waheguru's and my parent's blessing, I didn't take that wrong step and now I feel so good when I go to work wearing a Turban, it gives me immense satisfaction.

  • koi gal ni bandi ....sikhi di te gal hi nai ayi kite a te sab da farz ya ke kudi di help karni..hain sadi sardara di bezti zarur dikhai ya ke kudi piche bal katwa laye kini fudu gal ya shit man ....funny movie c vaise lol satshriakal

  • @sat9193

Veer, I told u that I appreciate the sentiment in which it has been shot.

And I do participate in other debates related to sikh religion on orkut, facebook etc.

This the first time that such a debate started and I am being told to just shut up. Although there are a few more points in the video which could have been analytically analysed. But I think Sikhism like Islam is getting fearful of even positive criticism based on facts.

Anyways, regret to hurt any1's sentiments.

  • @sat9193

    Conti.

    4. A woman wearing a turban and not being forced is okay, but I am against a woman wearing patka being the face of sikh lady. As such, it should be a lady wearing a proper chunni with head covered being the face of a sikh woman as has been since centuries.

    5. Bro, Do u think that the hero's mother is a lesser sikh or has less faith in the sikh religion than the heroine, just because she does not wear a patka??

I hope u get my point...

  • @ssingisking

so its a humble request to you bro that if you really wanna debate , then there are numerous other serious matters related to our community which need solutions, try on them rather than just creating an issue for such a small thing

  • @ssingisking Hello Bro I did got your point, but would like to tell you that there isn't any hard and fast rules that you must wear turban for females and if someone really like to wear turban than she shouldn't be forced not to wear as its all about your closeness with your religion and about what you said about mother, grandmother they did liked to keep their hair covered with Chunni they did and that's also completely acceptable....

    Cont....

  • Comment removed

  • @ssingisking About this video first of all I would like to congrats Mr. Satdeep Singh for this great deed as this is really necessary in this period of time to wake our community with the help of current media. What you described is completely right. @ssingisking we shouldn't be discouraging for this type of work yes if you need any clarifications ask that in a way that if someone doing a good deed must not be getting hurt.

  • @ssingisking ehe gallan ja k Miri-Piri academy dian Kaur'an nu dassyo, theek ae

  • @ssingisking @ssingisking "The Tenth Guru ordered sikhs to keep hair. No specific order regarding wearing turban is can be found" : : Please read the 5k's ( in which one is 'Keski' Yes 'Keski' not 'Kesh' as Kesh is compulsory for 'every' Sikh ) and the meaning of Keski is A Small Under Turban! 5k's = five articles of faith ( and Kesh is Our Body Part). All the 5k's were external articles taken by Guru Gobind Singh Ji

What exactly do you mean by the Word 'Patka' Here ?

  • @sat9193

    Bro do u know reality?

    1. How can u be so sure that Mata Gujri or Mata Sahib kaur were wearing patkas?

    2. I have seen my NaniJi and DadiJi and both staunch sikh ladies never wore turban but always kept a chunni.

    3. The Tenth Guru ordered sikhs to keep hair. No specific order regarding wearing turban is can be found. As turban was tradition in Indian Culture, All males who took amrit started wearing turban permanently, all the sikh ladies lived like before, just kept full hair.

  • @ssingisking

m surprised to see why you are reacting so much over this matter??

its only about personal liking...and the long and long discussions on this matter between you and me will end up nowhere...u dont like it , thats ur matter, i like it thats my matter....rather than just clarifying me about if its the face of a sikh girl or not, try to understand that if a girl wears a patka or starts wearing after watching this movie, then she is not going to commit a sin..

  • @ssingisking Do you even know the name of our tenth Guru and the Baani he wrote, if not try to surf some videos in youtube get some knowledge, and then post it back here. and by the way change your username to confusedsingh.

  • @ssingisking Guru Gobind Singh Ji ended all the differences between Men and Women and Ended all the Gender Discrimination. I will Give you my Head if You Show me anywhere in Guru Granth Sahib or any Sikh Historical Book saying that a Girl cannot Wear a Keski! or or any Rehat Maryada!

Rehat Maryada says that a Khalsa should Wear a Keski and No where it is Written that Khalsa is only male! anyone who has recited Amrit from the Panj Pyare ( The Five Beloved ones )

  • The video is very good....

Somehow I cannot understand when and why a woman wearking patka has become a face of a sikh woman. We c Mata Gujri, Mata Sundari and even Mata Sahib Kaur are not in patkas or turbans....There two good sikh women shown in the film. One is the heroine who is wearing a patka and the other is the hero's mother is like normal sikh ladies!!!! Although the subject and content is appreciable!!!!

  • @ssingisking

thanks for liking bro..wearing a turban or patka (as u have mentioned in case of girls) is a matter of showing respect for our KESH, keeping them free from outside dirt, and gives you a unique identity, its a crown gifted to us by our Gurus..as u have mentioned that Mata Gujri, Mata Sundari and even Mata Sahib Kaur are not in patkas or turbans..then you have made this opinion only after watching some pictures made by professional artists based on their imaginations and not reality

  • Sardar wakai fudu hi hote hein. Kuri ne jaise nachaya, waise hi nach liya gyani. I respect sikhism a lot. Sikh guys rock with pagh.

  • @hahahameinhoondon ki bolli janda ..tu fudu hovenggaaaa

  • Respond to this video... kudiyaaan nu eda ni krna chida...bakki ohna di marji hai.. they can do watever they want

  • @hahahameinhoondon Hey mate I don't know how do u like sikh guys, as whatever u have written in first 2 lines are completely contradictory to your last lines. So I would suggest you that if u really do respect sikhism than never post these type of rude comments ever.....

  • Satdeep great job my veer awesome movie

  • I like the subject of this short film... and cinematography is very good... i really like the work u guys have done... but there is one thing i want to share that ... when JASSi was confused about what should he do.... when that girl reject him... then his friend was saying to cut his hair ... bcoz it his LIFE... the guy was saying to cut the hair... he is also wearing a Turban.... that part is not good according to me... but rest is really very good...keep making this kind of films.. god bless

  • @DoNotCopyVideo

thanks a lott for the appreciation bro...that guy in turban is also having his beard cut...

  • Thanks bhaaji for making this video.. Appreciated from heart.. Super like.. Waheguru ji da khalsa.. waheguru ji di fateh..

  • Great work !!!! videos like these can encourage our new generation to follow our SIKHI with pure hearts and with full REHAT ... !!

Can i know about the backround music at last , is it a song or music created for this short movie exclusively ??

  • @maninder8052 -- bro thats a music created for this short movie only by tavleen singh....currently he is working on releasing that track...when he finishes it that will be available

  • Thanks a lottt everyone for ur tremendous support and appreciation for our effort...Guru maharaj mehar karan so that we can continue working in this area...Ur blessings are our strength :)

  • First of all a big Thank you to Satdip for putting this beautiful movie.

I advice people to understand the concept, this is not a Bollywood movie with mega budgets and professional people.

You should appreciate an honest effort by a Sikh and his message.

I am a proud Sikh living in New Zealand working in a Reputable bank with the Gursikh Swaroop. for last 12 years & I am proud parents of young kids going to school with Patka.

Sikhs who cut their Kesh,do not understand the value of Sikhism
