I totally disagree. He can't hold a note like he used to but it doesn't matter. I still love his voice enough to fly from Michigan to Florida to see him on Feb 18th at the Orange Blossom Opry.
@DalonCole That's kinda/sorta unfair ...maybe just a little don't ya think? Both are great performers from the "back in the day" time frame. How about just accepting both for the great stuff they gave us all to live love and enjoy. Both very classy guys!!
@SuzieQz1962 I AGREE, I'm 16 And I just love old classic country music. I just cant get enough of Ray Price, He is a Legend. I wish people could see the meaning of music that they had back then... I guess I was born in the wrong Generation My English Teacher said. And I just love to see the smiles on the old folks when I say I just adore this music It makes my day and probly thiers :) Like you said Suzie. They Dont make 'em like this any more.. Very Sad..
I grew up in East Texas back in the early 60s. Ray Price's stepmother, Zelma Price, was my teacher for 5th and 6th grade. After hearing many of her stories about her stepson made me a long time fan of his. A few years ago I finally got to meet him after a concert. It will be a memory I will treasure he rest of my life. This song is perhaps my favorite, along with Danny Boy. Thanks for the Good times, Mr. Price, wherever you are.
I just listened to him singing it in the late 60's on another You tube page and now here. Wow is voice is almost the same. What a sad, sad, song, breaks my heart!
I agree JWS, that drummer should have been bounced from the orchestra after this song...this song was meant to be sung slower...and Ray did an astounding job in spite of the knucklehead.
Yes and I thank you for hearing what you heard. Perhaps I had a different idea of how the song should have sounded. I was a bit rough in my original words. I could have said it better and I didn't. However my sentiments
remain the same. It did seem that the song was rushed. I did not like the way the drummer seemed not to allow Ray to do his best.
@jws54 considering this is Ray road band and not the Opry house band, it would be logical that the band knew what tempo the boss Ray wanted to play it at, and you're profanity laced comments on a public forum easily accessable by children is an un-welcome indication of both your knowledge and your opinion's worth on a topic like this. Please keep your language to an acceptable level, it doesn't make you look good.
@jws54 again, if your only reply is fu2, I feel bad for anyone in your life who deals with this pathetic uneducated knuckle dragger of a troll whose obvious thrill in life is verbal tyrants and lashing at complete strangers, whose only crime was viewing a Ray Price video and being assaulted by the un-wanted and un-necessary comments from the like of you. If your thinking that the band played this one too fast, a simple comment on the subject could have expressed your point.
@bmmuir yes,..perhaps for a normal person,...however for a pathetic uneducated knuckle-dragging troll who lives for verbal tyrants and lashing out at complete strangers,...I thought my comments were succinct and well done,...??
@jws54 Watch your mouth chump. No need for that kind of language . You do an injustice to the comments of those who want to read it in a civilized manner. shame on you
@DaPoncher I know the children of today are very stupid and I use words they have never heard before. I have destroyed many generations and have turned the whole entire Planet on it's side due to my misuse of power. I have tainted much,..there is no hope for such a one so ignorant as me,... I do appreciate your bringing my many faults to light. Perhaps the best use of me, is fertilizer,..since I am so full of shit.
could someone give me the name off a recent Ray Price song, i seen him in concert and he closed with a song about life goes on to the end and we can stop it , the song was beatiful thank-you
I HOPE I CAN SEE THIS WONDERFUL LEGEND. MT. PLEASANT, TX (KLTV) - The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation is pleased to announce that it will host country music legend Ray Price in concert at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, April 2.,. 2011
Back in the 70s I asked my dad who his favorite singer was ..I was expecting to hear Hank Williams,Jimmy Rodgers,Faron Young..but he told me it was between Ray Price and Slim Whitman.me being 9 or 10 at the time wrinkled up my nose and laughed..as I got older I learned that Dad was right that Price can sing..I could listen to him over and over and it just keeps getting better..Thanks for posting this for all of us to enjoy...
this is priceless... i've watch from when he was young then in his mid's and now... and i can only say he hasn't changed a bit in his singing... i love this guy.... he was one of my biggest influence in my singing career

It's the most important message you'll every recieve. Don't worry about the pass. But look to your future.
