if I remember right Killer Instinct started as a monster fighting game with only the non human characters but then Jago, orchid, and combo were added becasue they felt that audiances would respond to the game better if it had some humans in it.

KI never saw huge success because it was wimpy compared to mortal komba and KI copied moral kombat but ended up being shitty, if KI3 comes out it needs good characters, better fatalities, and all around improvement

Killer Instinct was an amazing game. Shame it didnt see the success that both the Street Fighter & Mortal Kombat franchises did. Loved the Characters, the music, the moves and the fatalities. As someone mentioned below, its time that Mortal Kombat went head to head with Killer Instinct in a game. That would be awesome!

Unfortunately this isn't quite complete, since a lot of the fatalities had different outcomes depending on the character: (Male characters reacted differently Orchid flashing them, different bits and pieces of characters fell down from Jago's uppercut, etc etc)

Also there was an extra command to jump on and squish a character after you made them a frog.

one of nintendos greatest blunders... killer instinct was suppossed to be a preview of the power of the 'coming in 1995 only to nintendos ultra 64'. instead it comes out in 97 and the graphics are dog turd city compared to the arcade.
