I hate it when doors won't slide properly on my vivs too. I would love to know their reason for this bobbing and shaking of the head, it's not something that's understandable in our way of communication. nice cottonmouth mate, good video. Good to point out shed fangs in substrate, my gabby had passed a fang through her feces and was visibly jutting out of the poop. Something to frame up in the room.

I believe that Purple Nurple is engaging you in a tarritorial display challenge, or to a mating rights display challenge. Do you have any other similar snake species like purple nurple that may be in heat? He could be smelling that snake and becoming teritorial! It could also be that simple fact that he actually sees you as a male, so it could be just display, saying " my head is bigger than yours, so back off of my territory!"
