  • Wrecked em. these pics are rectum.

  • Landing with no landing-gear? No wonder it crashed...

  • I said it many times before and I'll say it again. Any landing that you can walk away from is not a bad landing. All those who slam the pilot, I challenge you to see what a glider is like during strong winds. And gliders aren't real good for cross wind landings.

  • did they get away or did they bite the dust?

  • poor plane :( I feel sorry for it... I bet the pilot was the idiot one (as usual)

  • Nothing that photoshop can't cure ;-)

  • only badasses land upside down

  • Comment removed

  • someone was trying a low inverted pass hehe

  • Silly glider, thats not how you land.

  • @davew8572 uh.... evidently YOU would moron. And I quote "the pilot told me to get out at 50 feet and get a parachute ..." Btw.... SOP is to grab the chute BEFORE exiting the aircraft. At least, that's how we do it in the Air Force. Just saying...

  • LMAO... Take me drunk, I'm home!!

  • @davew8572 surelly goose was hurt too ya know like in top gun

  • @davew8572

Wow! You deployed a chute at 50'?? Bullshit.

  • @VeronicaLynneReeves i bet goose didnt make it either:D

  • was the pilot ok?

  • bit of 5 minute araldite will fix that

  • well that's one way of solving the problems connected with a stuck up undercarriage and having to belly land it.

as for the glider defiantly a write of not even worth considering repairing in my eyes

  • Interesting position for a glider, like to see it take off like that :P

    How'd he get out?

  • hat der iwie oben und unten verwechselt? ich mein.... hätte der nen Ringelpietz gemacht wäre ja dann eine Fläche gebrochen xD

  • chuck on a bit of duct tape and she'll be all right.....

  • What is the song?

  • guess THAT nimbus rider wasn't as pure of heart as he thought (Dragonball reference)

  • so do you repair somthing like this?

  • you can TRY and repair something like this, but everything you want to do has to be cleared by the FAA, FUCK that, it's faster to buy a new ship, and have it shipped from the other side of the world, rather than go through stuff with the FAA

  • No. You usually part it.

  • this pilot was very lucky

  • glad the pilot was ok but shame about the glider

  • das passiert wenn man nicht aufpasst

  • du hasst ja echt ahnung.....

  • ???eine windböhe von der seite die brutal kommt dann passierts halt und wenn man nciht frühgenug gegendrückt dann passierts halt

  • where was this ??

  • wow

  • OMG!!!

  • oooch. Expensive.

  • There's no such thing as gravity. The earth sucks.

  • well thats one good thing about gliders when you crash at least you dont BLOW UP.(or do yo?)

  • True you don't burn to death...

  • Gravity never sleeps.

  • i write words here too like the rest of you

  • Now THAT's pro piloting.

  • 9thprotocol,if you met this guy,you would see what negativety looks like, talk is cheap, were living the good life, keep flying

  • ..It's amazing how stupid some people in this world can act from time to time.

  • I've always wanted to go gliding. It seems very fun. Is it? Also if you are careful gliding can be very safe.

  • Nothing in life is "safe" its about risk management. We should band the word safe! Flying is truly not safe its full of danger, but one of the most majestic disciplines ever know to man.

  • FREEDOM OF SPEECH BIATCH!

    btw you spelled ban wrong

  • I give you right BUT flying is safer then driving a car, and even walking is full of danger: you slip out and fall on your head and get a bleeding in your brain.

But most of the time with flying...if it happens it is serious

  • reaction on : DelSolSea

  • @DelSolSea disagreed.

Its safer than drinking non tap water

safer than living in a lot of neighborhoods around the world

safer than being a police officer

and most of all, much more safe than driving, cuz 1 you don't have nearly as much traffic to deal with, and 2 less likely of an accident cuz you're not gonna find Flyers under Influence, Drunk Flyers, Stupid fliers, Underexperienced flyers (well not as many as drivers) etc

hell its even safer than unprotected sex

    sounds pretty safe to me

  • Used glider for sale, slight dammage, can be fixed* o.O

  • I dont think you can rapair this ^^

  • Ya think?

Well, AutoZone has plenty of Bondo kits on sale. ;-)

  • Would that be repaired..? or classed as a write off ?

  • wow man, it's like asking for a bacon burger and getting porked.

  • probaly safer in a glider. considering no engine, which means no explosion

  • it is saver im a glider pilot and love it

the cockpit is all made from carbonfiber so its verry strong and its the savesed thing u can be in on the field

  • except a sturdy pair of shoes

  • probaly tried to take off straight up, stalled, and fell back down

  • or when he turned to final to little rudder, i don't really knwow cause i'm new

  • I'm quite new too. If it is something like that it'd think it would be to much rudder. That's more dangerous than to little rudder because with to much rudder you have a wind shadow on the slower wing, which is double dangerous.

  • imagine if that would happen in your first solo flight... how mad would ur instructor be? :P

  • Hmm... I wonder how the pilot got out...

  • lucky pilot

  • a lot of modern gliders are made very very crash proof

  • lol for this reason lol im not saying the pilot was a bad one just shit happens as long as the guy survived

  • murphy's law. bad things happen to good pilots.

  • well at least it could be repaird and the pilot wanent relly hert or worse

  • They already seem so vulnerable in the elements and around motor-planes, that it's so sad to see one like this.

  • Seems all crash energy transferred in rolling over the center, and than passed into tail, stocked on land. Thus pilot saved. If no rolling, result could be other.

  • I crashed a paper airplane once...

"Machete tricks" Search it... Top result.

  • There is an NTSB dot GOV accident number: LAX01LA220

  • So what happened exactly? This happened to a presumably experienced pilot, right?

  • to be fair, gliding is alot safer than power flying, majority have no engine, parachutes are mandatory and all glider cockpits are built with similar crash protection, crumple zones, as F1 racing cars.

But nothing is ever safe so i can see your point

  • not only non- motor planes fall from sky

  • If you're going to fall from the sky, do it in a glider, not a power plane: In a glider you get time to choose your landing, in a power plane it chooses you!

Glider cockpits like F1 cars? Not the last time I looked! My feet are inches from the nose of my glider, with nothing but GRP in between.

  • ok, ther not "like" as in "look lik" but they are designed, from a safety point of view, as F1 cars, crumple zones etc. wel, the more modern ones are lol

  • CBSift, I disagree with your comment saying a power plane chooses the landing sight and not you in the event of an off field landing.

I have been flying powered aircraft for more than 10 years. I have had 1 complete engine failure and had to force land. In a glide most light aircraft will descend at around 300 - 500 ft/min. From 2000ft I had plenty of time. There was no damage to me or the aircraft. At that time I only had 80hrs flying experience.

  • From an instructor's point of view, tomprid3 might be right. The crumple zone's the student's seat . Yet I don't think you should crash nose-down (90°) or hit a wall while landing to survive.

  • its why I know that you know nothing about flying because gliders are more safe than normal planes.

  • I think that proves how strong and durable modern gliders are, i presume the nimbus was written off but the pilot only had minor injuries?! today's gliders are not as flimsy as most people think.
