is it hard to set up two yokes and two throttles and two sets of rudder pedals? because my bro and I are thinking about setting something like that up but is there something specific we would need to do?
Well it has taken us a long time to find out how to put all this together. we spend about 2 hours putting all of this together. your main concern should be if you have enough of USB ports. also thinking of the time spend on configuring all the axes, buttons, sensitivities etc.
after a few times of practice it goes relativly quick. I hope it helps you guys :D
i can tell you much. also that it is a 22 inch monitor. and it is. the reason it looks so small is because we filmed it in 16x9 and when we putted it on youtube it copressed to 4X3. therefore it looks small
Takeoff in VC mode isn't usefull, it is better to expand your panel to get a better view of your Flight Director comand bars.
I always follow them, I set V2 + 15 first, then spead up to clean menouvering speed, 1500 L nav, and then select V nav when flaps up. All whilst following my FD, when I'm in trim I select command A or B. Better to use charts too for altitude restrictions, climb gradients etc. Fly it how it is meant to fly, although your nearly there. Get yourself some real FCOM's.
we think VC view is better, espesially when landing. we can turn to the sides, and we think it seems more realistic. we chose to hold V2+10, and we are engaging L nav when we think its time to engage the Autopilot, in this case, when it was clear skies, we can do it after 1500 feet. it dosen't need to be so only one right thing to do. your way, is a variation, which is just as good as ours, but we took it like this.
with the stab trim you have heard wrong. you probably heard that insted of either the autothrottle or the speedbrakes. we wouldn't make such a big deal out of it if we didn't know the instruments. where in the video did you hear it?
ahh. i can tell you why. think we messed it up with the 747 ckecklist, where there is a point where the stab trim have to be turned on. (I know not the trim air, the stab trim as well)
what is nm? I just know that the flight to madeira is around 2.5 hours. How do i know? Because i live in portugal, and it depends where hes taking off from because he might be taking off from the states and it doesnt mention departure zone
Dude... ok.. nm=nautical miles.. flight trip distances are measured in this. if you don´t know the departure airport, then how can you say it takes 2,5 hrs??!! But it DOES say where it GOES... read the TITLE of the clip... KASTRUP= Copenhagen intl. airport.. = around 4+hrs...
Well the main reason why i didn't do that was because i didn't need to. the yoke is just as easy to operate with one as with two. I know you have to do it real life, but the yokes are A LOT heavier to pull there, so its more like a reflex.
Hey! I have a VERY important question! I am thinking about buying this, but I have heard that sometimes the buttons seem to "press them selfs" Exsaple, the gear comes down during cruse, with no pilot imput. PLEASE TELL ME IF YOU HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM!!!
no cause i can bring all my equitment to the U.S. and we don't play over the internet. it always go wrong. imagine if i hat to bring my flight yoke over here. that would be a mess
You should get a large Screen or two separate screens so that if one of you is the co-pilot, for example, you can put the virtual cockpit as the co-pilot view.
well. me and Simon met each other from FSX Online a year and a half ago. And Since then have we becomed best friends. At FSX Online there is always one from your country witch share you passion. you never know when you meet the right people. i could never know i would get friend with a persons witch told me i did'n needed to be a tower in a session.
Its simple. there is a little bottom on our Joystick, so when we move the Joystick, its not that witch makes the gear retract. its just the bottom we press. you can assign that bottom in Options, in the main flight Simulator menu :)
it was actually not so pricey. We have a saitek yoke each. One of us had the monitor anyway. I have madeira and pmdg. Simon has Scandinavian airports. As gear I had an old joystick. Simon has the pedals. So when we are two. Its not so bad anymore. Its just all of our things combined... :)
o ok. me and my friend have a setup kinda like that but we cant get a computer desk big enough to hold the 2 yokes. what kinda throttle quadrant you guys use? we have a CH
how did you set the joystick to gear?

Very nice video guys, you do a great piloting! Just one minor thing: At V1, PIC release thrust levers and at VR pull the yoke with both hands.
vadani93 3 years ago
