Enjoyed the lecture, but agree with arbeitsscheuer, the Q&A more interesting! Liked what he had say about Prison Notebooks as laboratory/experimental science, socialist hegemony=leadership, comments around united front/building a durable political org. In Q&A, esp. found comments re: religion thoughtful. Also liked "What is a party?" & conflict.! I am E. Orthodox Xian and radical left-libertarian labour activist, for whom anarchism, Marxism, syndicalism, liberation theology are imp. resources.
I think that people should talk about what Mr. Thomas said about Gramsci, and not the way he did it. Our personal opinion is not relevant. Objectivity must be the basis of any discussion, above all, if we take into account that any analysis of our contemporary civilization must lead us to its transformation.
Good man Peter Thomas, thoroughly fascinating. Actually found the answers from the Q&A section at the end much more interesting than the lecture - presumably because the 'conversation style' a Q&A session necessarily involves is almost always more accessible and easier to absorb. Nonetheless, it was still a good lecture.
