  • Brilliant!!! Now I can finally justify getting the missus a sewing machine.

  • NOW MY EARS ARE BLEEDING!

  • Your audio sounds like a dentist drill.

  • Great idea , now you only need a turn counter and your're pretty well set up ,maybe not a neat as professional winding machines , but definitly also not as expensive, nice work.

  • can some1 tell me how much mm (in diametr) has 42 or 43 gauge copper wire please?

  • @TheDragonMF 42 gauge is 0.063 mm 43 is 0.056

  • How does your finger feelling =_=

  • Make sure the presser foot is up when you do that...it will be noisier if you don't and you risk wrecking the feed dogs and the foot. I take the needle out when I wind bobbins this fast, just in case...and, I'm amazed you can wind a rectangular pickup at this speed, lol.

  • HaHa a fine line like the difference between fishing and standing on the riverside like a div!

  • Who is praticing in the background... Isnt there an ISO booth there somewhere? Trying to watch your video man....

  • SHOOT THE SOUND MAN !!!!!!

  • and you probably don't have to dip them in paraffin wax due to the natural oils from his sweaty fingers.

  • @herda5 lol.. there's not THAT much oil in your fingers ;)

  • Can you check the impedance before you remove the pickup?

  • I didnt actually try. I would assume you would be able to check ohms between whatever two points you check. I was more interested in getting a completely unknown unique sound from each one, therefore was not neccessarily concerned with the actual reading on the pickup. Just really wanted to see if i could make a winder work! thanks for you interest.

  • A cheap and fast way I found to wind pickup coils. Still need a counter though

my formula to that is know the maximum revoloutions per minute of the sewingmachine, have a stop watch

and know how many times do you want your wire wound on the bobin

  • I'm impressed with the mechanism but had to watch it with the sound turned off!!!!

  • Geez it goes pretty fast! How did the wire not break? The sound track is good. Funny vid - well done.

  • You can spin wire as thin as 0.05mm at over 7000 rpm and it will not break, as long as you keep constant tension on it (like you see him doing with his hands). Caution: What you see him doing is also dangerous. There is a fine line between guiding the wire with your hands, and the friction from a dry spot in the wire literally sawing your fingers off. I suggest some practice with this! lol

  • A sewing machine?

  • wow, great idea...
