To me, it looks like a cross between Beach Bowl from Super Mario Galaxy and that Star Mountain.... Thing near Peach's Castle ruins in Paper Mario.

Its right, was apperead on E3, the beta gameplay, also on this video called "Some girl playing Super Mario Galaxy" have a gameplay of this world, maybe nintendo hided if need for something!

it didnt take hackers to figure this out, when i was looking through one of those old nintendo booklets telling you all the most popular games, this planet was in one of the pictures of super mario galaxy, because the booklet was made before the game was released. then in the booklets after the game was made, they did have pictures of that planet.

one of the missions on it was to collect notes. that was in the picture.

You're probably thinking of the top of "Beach Bowl Galaxy". It looks kinda similar.

Considering every other planet in "the Star World" made it into the final game in some form, I kinda get the feeling that this planet was never intended to be in the game at all; it might've just been a hub for the different areas of the demo, which were taken from other galaxies in the final and stuff. The cliffs always kinda remind me of Beach Bowl Galaxy, though.
