Yes, it's amazing to me how many "conservatives" love this guy. Applaud the '94 revolution for what it was, but realize how darned short-lived it was and how south the country and Newt Gingrich went in the years following. The '94-'98 "balanced budgets" were not balanced.  We continued to rack up new debt, only at a smaller clip than usual. Bravo. But to think that Newt is some great conservative for that is ridiculous.

I used to watch Newt on C-SPAN and he was ever and always profoundly supportive of President Reagan. Mark Levin and other Reagan faithful have confirmed this publicly as well.
