  • its soo funny lolol watch?v=eYKK-FrTRJc

  • He is one of my all time music legends, he came from a era with, the Rat pack..Bing, Andy Williams, Pery Como and Nat King Cole those guys could SING! They knew what ROMANCE was all about.....

  • THAT BEAUTIFUL VOICE AND FACE I SAW YOU AT RUTGERS UNIVERSITY A LONG TIME AGO WITH MY NHIGH SCHOOL BOYFRIEND LANE GOTTLEIB WHO WENT TO RUTGERS

  • #457

  • this reminds me of "I love you Phillip Morris", great movie with Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor...

  • Not sure why or what the racial facial comments are about - isn't it all to do with the music and the feelings. Love it, memories of a less complicated time. Ann C

  • To MrGchiasson.You couldn't have said a truer word.

  • I'm here b/c I'm reading John Waters' Role Models and he loves Johnny Mathis, being born in the 80's I wasn't to familiar and am now pleasantly surprised.

  • I agree with you Buddy. Love this kind of music.

  • Reminds me of a different era. A better era. Sit back and just enjoy the beauty of the song.

It reminds me of quiet times. Having dinner with my wife in a nice restaurant. When people cared about their appearance, their character and their conduct. Give me those days instead of the raunch we hear & see today

  • I want a boyfriend.

  • love this song!!! brings back memories of my mom and dad

  • Johnny Mathis is fabulous what ever he sings love this one northjean1

  • Folks, don't feed that bigoted, racist troll

  • fuck my heart drooped at the beginning of this song. who cares what age you are, what race he is and what his complexion is! lets just appreciate good music

  • my mom loves this man

  • This man has the most extraordinary voice ever and Chances Are is my favorite song. Just can't beat the combination.

  • This was no. 1 in 1957--not bad for a 20 year singer--he sounds like he's been in the industry forever!!!

  • i grew up on hime and so many other very much older singer. i wasnt even around when they were. but there music will last forever. scottie

  • I've loved this song since way back in the late 50s when I was less than 5 years old. My mom & I played the album over & over. I got to meet Johnny Mathis at a department store when he made an appearance signing his new album around 1970. He couldn't have been more gracious! Just like JM himself, his music is timeless!

  • I love, love, love this song...when i was a very little girl my mother listened to it,and to "The Twelfth of Never",over and over, and to this day,forty-something years later,it still makes me sigh with the beauty of it.What a voice!

  • My mother's favorite song, by her favorite artist. It always makes me cry. My mother died in 2001.

  • Got my first J.M. l.p. in 1963. Both sides of l.p., all 12 or so songs, top hits. And the period covered was just the 1950's! He sings at least once per year in my town ... even though JM now in 70's, newspaper critic always gives v. favorable review ...

  • FUCK YOU PIG! MY WORD IS MY MOTHER FUCKING BOND XD

  • @corruptstar1 : Your song like you is sick, sick, sick.

  • this is my wedding song... it has to be something johnny mathis

  • This is how i met your fine ass mother and you came OUT

  • @pompoyitaa latent homosexuals cannot deal with lots of stuff. You are not alone in finding that you cannot relate to great singers without talking shit.Ask Mom.

  • Why do people obsess over someone else's sexuality? Mathis is an extraordinary talent and his personal life is his own business.

  • Johnny Mathis...nothing more to say. :)

  • one of my favorites by this legend --- thanks for sharing

  • i've always thought the song "town without pity" by gene pitney, was a direct rip-off/emulation of this. i like them both, tho

  • My grandma danced to this at her wedding <3

  • All of the so called "love songs" now, like bieber, or bruno mars, lady gaga, etc with all due respect to them, this is a REAL love song.

  • i'm the only one in my group of friends who even knows who this wonderful man is, i couldn't believe it. I'm seventeen and it feels like i'm the only one who listens to this! Oh, but i love it!

  • it dos'nt matter straight or gay, his the man with the velvet voice, mr big stuff cafe maroubra beach sydney

  • >.> Lol I feel so young when I listen to these tunes. I'm 24, I was listening to these type of tunes since 2 or so granny told me. Well from 2 to the day I die I will never deny a classic. Now if I can only find a girl my age who appreciates this and other great songs of it's kind. Now if you kind folks don't mind I'm off to click on Frank Sinatra before I write an elaborate autobiography.

  • this appeals to women born between 1940-1950. he looks like some kind of italian guy.

  • @The096757

Indeed, he does have an exotic appearance. He is, however, a Black American.

  • @RobParliament

being gay made it ok for white women from the 1950s to love jonny's music. go to a jonny concert and it is packed with old white bubbas.

he looks like some greasy italian and that is almost as bad as being black.

  • @The096757 Gee, and how would you know unless you'd been to one of his concerts? I beg to differ....I went to one when I was in my 20s, and there were people of all ages there, men and women alike (my ex-husband liked him too, as did my father). Johnny has what singers today don't have....class, style, and one of the best voices to ever grace a vinyl record.

  • @The096757 ....but not nearly as bad as being a braindead ignorant bigot...

  • what a singer i remember him as a kid in the 1950's my parents brought his albums and just love the songs to dance too. just beautiful

  • Johnny is and will always be a fantastic Singer I'll be a fan Untill the Twelth of Never :)

  • When he sang he made all of gals feel like it was"PERSONALLY to ME". That helped us keep our self esteem, 'cause we wanted a guy as gentle, romantic & sweet as he.There was courtesy, respect and good clean fun. ♫♫PEACE VIA MUSIC♫♫

    Your friend, MARIA

  • My mom and dad used to argue over which Johnny Mathis album they'd listen to next. It was funny! We had all his Christmas music too and Christmas still ain't Christmas until Johnny sings! The two purest singing voices of all time? Johnny Mathis and Nat King Cole. 'nuff said...

  • Oh sh.t ,this is so beautiful! Johnny is close to becoming the 'guvnor' in my embryonic listening on this site.

  • one of his best....believe or not the album this song came from Johnny Mathis Greatest Hits stayed on Billboard's top 100 for 490 weeks (10 years) still a Guiness Record..........

  • aaaaaaaaawww.

  • The days when a 57 Chevy & the American Dream was a goal worth reaching for !

  • @harmageden Still is=)

  • @zepDzen ..Good to hear it ! Although , i believe our new goals have to be sustainability & a more caring attitude towards this beautiful planet that we call home .

What makes me sad about this song, is the fact that many young American men & women , falling in love to the sound of J.M. , were totally unaware of the plans in Washington , to drag them off to YET another bloody conflict in Vietnam . Finally , people are starting to WAKE UP and fight the REAL enemy , the Wall St Banksters.

  • OMG, In my youth, I took Johnny's singing for granted. Now I realize just how good it is.

  • Thank you, sweet husband.

  • guess who got tickets to go see johnny in march!! :)

  • this is my favorite johnny mathis song...

  • shit

  • when i was a kid, johnnie mathis at this age looked like my cousin's husband.

  • My sister wore this song out playing it while my brother in law was in Vietnam. They just celebrated their 40th anniversary. I was 8 . Liked it then love it now.

  • Silky smooth and dreamy.

  • Wow what a class act! Truly one of the most talented singers in the world. It's always such a pleasure to listen to that suave, soothing voice! :-)

  • I have to listen to this song at least once a week. What a voice!!!!

  • "Thank You Philip Morris" love you philip morris. good luck on escaping at age 54 you 2 belong together teaxs state laws are so screwy. you didnt kill you played the system. murder=less time, 106% criminal mastermind wiseguy= alot of bullshit. get out soon

  • "Come on I just wanna dance."

  • last picture is funny. it use to be "cool" to have a cigarette in your hand, now it's just low class.

  • @fixfireleo its too bad, i dont smoke and probably never will, but I still think if youre wearing a suit and smoking you are one cool motherfucker

  • Wow, at last I found this song. Did anyone know this song was played in Close Encounters of the Third Kind? I've always wanted to know who sang it, now I do!!!!

  • Happy Birthday, Johnny Mathis!

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JOHNNY !!

  • The best voice EVER -- Bar None.

  • I sent this across the country to someone I love, in a text. It was my "good night" to my love. This song is timeless, a welcome slice of joy in a sometimes cold world. Thank you, Johnny!

  • God bless you Johnny.

  • RIP MR MATHIS.

  • @diamondbuyerrt No, no - the one who recently passed is a different Johnny ("Country") Mathis, a country singer. This one is still alive and well as I am writing this.

  • @diamondbuyerrt Mathis isn't dead, he's still alive.

  • Mathis is a giant and his songs span time like sunshine fills our lives every morning. This is not just classic...it's classy too. He raises love way up there, where it belongs... and he'll always be one of my life s greatest , sweetest joys.

  • when I was a little girl my dad would have this playing on his stereo on Sunday mornings, along with Sinatra, Andy Wiliams ect...with bacon and eggs cooking and he would be singing....it is one of the best memories I have of my childhood though I never got the chance to tell him that...............god bless you Dad

  • when was a little girl my dad gave me this record i played it over and over that my big brother broke it cause he said he was sick of me replaying it over and over hehehehe im 34 now and love johnny just as much as i did when my daddy bought it for me when i was a ll girl

  • My girl and I lost Our virginities last night with this song :$

    PD: I'M 17 :D

  • When I came out to my grandfather, he immidietly showed me this song and said "We're going to dance to this at your wedding." :')

  • @emazegan Man, that's beautiful. You're blessed to have him.

  • @emazegan johnny mathis is gay right?

  • @rogerkleinman yes Johnny Mathis is gay but that shouldn't matter. He is a very talented singer so he shouldn't be judege for sexuality for his singing.

  • @rogerkleinman

Yes, Mathis came out in 1982.

  • @emazegan -- blessed people, both your grandfather and you :)

  • @emazegan Lovely. Hope it happened. If not, it's never too late.

  • @emazegan That is so beautiful!Your grandfather is a very special person. If you haven't married yet,I hope the wedding will be amazing;if you have, congratulations to you and your loved one :)

  • johnny mathis was popular starting in 1950's, but the views of his songs are millions. Great music transcends time.

  • itunes.apple.com/us/album/ive-got-some-plans-of-my-own/id407849324?i=407849328&uo=4

  • I asked my father if I could go to the park tomarrow at 1PM and he sung this song. And I just sat there and laughed.

  • Every time I listen to this song I close my eyes and think on the person I love on a top of a hill with green grass resting on a blanket holding hands and kissing!!!!!

  • i listen to this, close my eyes and just imagine myself slow dancing with the person I love

    :)

  • Always loved this song. Such a classic voice.

  • what a beautiful voice he had. i want the Twelfth of Never to be my wedding song some day.

  • Johnny Mathis is a fucking baller

  • Thats 70s show brought me here. I had never heard of this song or Johnny mathis before but this song is awesome. Funny moment on That 70s Show too.

  • @awesomness3 Johnny Mathis has a golden voice his voice is truly a gift from god-i was around during that time period when he was recording his songs -the man was awesome-i wish we had more singers like him today-the music today is almost laughable

  • @TheSuperonestore were did you get your facts? he was born in Gilmer, Texas and his dad was black look it up do research before you say things trust me from experience lol

  • @bossmann25 WHO GIVES A FUCK

  • @bossmann25 yes his dad was a light skinned black, I saw a picture of him and Johnny looked a lot like him, he said in an interview that they didn't know who his mother;s father was ,they think he was white, at the time Johnny was born in Gilmer there was a large concentration of Native Americans there ,so maybe.....................

  • @TheSuperonestore you stupid fool.

  • @thebearclawjones your motha bitch?

  • 50数年前よりファンになりLPレコードを今も数枚持っています、しかし

    プレーヤーのベルトが古く成り聴く事が出来なく成りましたので、

    こちらで聴かせて頂いております。当時日本ではメジャーでは有りませんでしたが

    maybe i lived that time...

  • I'am glad Johnny Mathis left Gilmer Texas ,we might just know him as a track star, I live in a suburb of Dallas and I have no idea where Gilmer is, I look at destiny in a whole new light now

  • @capatga If they wanted to give the Earth an enema, they'd stick the nozzle in Gilmer, TX. You're right!!! Thank goodness he got out while he could.

  • what a great powerful voice, long live the 40's 50's 60's 7's and of course the 80's <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

  • This reminds me of the time when i accidentally got frozen in a cryogenics lab and my dog Scruffy waited outside the pizza joint that i worked at for me to come back.

  • Late one weekend night, I sat on a picnic table, somewhere near was a resturant with music piped outside for their sidewalk diners, Billy Joe Miller was with me and the incredible romance of the moment was overwhelming, geez I still think of him,45 years later

  • I love Johnny's music. Have ever since I was a little girl. So lucky for me that my husband likes his music too and we are both in our early 40's. I was surprised to learn that JM is from the little town of Gilmer, TX which is not too far from where we live. (NE TX)
