In one of your videos you are using a silly straw, my nurses & doctors told me I'd never be able to use a straw again. How does it feel to use a straw? I was told that it puts to much air in the tummy. Did it bother you?
i really enjoyed your video you actually get right to the point quickly a welcomed site...most people ive seen on utube get into the drama of theyre lives outside of the weight loss good for you!!!
I wanted to thank you for your video. I am eighteen years old and considering having this surgery. ive been overweight my entire life and cant remember a time when i wasent on a diet. Ive lost 80 pounds in the past but regained every pound. Im planning on having the surgery in august and have been taking a lot of vitamins (including biotin-becomes im scared of hair loss
I am going to be having it in the next few weeks or so but I'm nervous about the extra skin because I don't want to be trading one thing for another. Is it really that bad? Do u think that working out more would help it? I am 5'2 and 245... but I have a getto booty... u can have some of mine if u want... lol!
@jennabeth1128: The skin didnt bother me at first but sometimes now I feel like its getting worse...maybe my fat is like redistributing itself. But...in time Im sure it will shrink some more. And extra skin is better than an extra 100 pounds...absolutely lol. You can hide extra skin, you cant hide 100 pounds.
@jennabeth1128: For the first 6 months I did a lot of walking and cardio. Now not so much...Im probably more active than most people but I dont have a workout regimin or anything like that.
Kelly: Let me tell you that as your bariatric surgeon, you make me feel proud!!! You are the best example of good decisions and choices patients make after bariatric surgery!
Thanks for being so honest it really helps the people who are considering surgery. My surgery date is April 16th and I am going into it knowing that evenutally I will need to have plastic surgery. I think you're doing a great job. Keep it up!
this may sound like a strange suggestion but it really works. spanx is an excellent way to redistribute fat when losing weight. they are not just for overweight people, they really are for anyone with lumps/bumps that need smoothing out. after plastic surgery most plastic surgeons will tell you to wear them to help with swelling. walmart and target carry cheaper version, also target now carries sara blakely shapewear; she is the creator of spanx. hope this helps. ;)
Ahhh i have the same problem with sizes!!! I hate that muffin top!!! No butt here either , i swear yousound just like me when talking about the no tush issue!! Lookin great ,good for you getting back to the gym...
I am loving your videos just found you because of the tag game ..feel free to join in the fun if you like... and if I could give away my booty to you I so would cause I have lots to give away lol :) love rosemary
wow, I find it a funny coincidence... You were just talking about carbs and how you feel about them. I kind of feel the same way... but I have PCOS - and they've said (they, you know the ''they'') that carbs are dangerous - but I think I'd be setting myself up for failure if I was like NO....NO CARBS EVER... so just the other day I ordered the low-GI book, and you're talking about it here. I would be interested to hear how that goes for you. I am sleeved as well. great video :-) Have a good week
Hey there! Thanks so much for posting your videos, they help me sooo much! I was just wondering if in your next video you could comment on the changes of your PCOS (I have it too). I am waiting my date for surgery and have all these questions like, will my odd hormonal crap go away. Did yours?

Hi Kelly, I have been losing an average of 4# a week since my surgery on 12/17/10. I don't limit carbs because I can take in so little to begin with. And, I refuse to give up fruit and veggies, even if I can only have a little bit. I ate 2 small canteloupe slices today and enjoyed them thoroughly. You look great and always have interesting things to say. Thanks as always and keep posting -- we need you!
You are so articulate - always enjoy your videos. Were you this "together" just before you had your surgery? i am working on losing my 10% so I can get my VSG by the summer. I am trying to to behave but have not found that emotional balance to say "the answer is not in that box" No matter how well I behave - I still get caught in emotional eating.. Do you think that losing the weight (post op) has helped you get stronger? I want to know I am in the right mindset - hope this all makes sense
Hay hun, awesome video and tons of great information. Im proud that u have incorporated living a normal life after wls. It seemed like we had to diet forever while loosing al this weight but at the end, we still have to know that we have to go on incoporating normal foods later down the road so good for u for noticing some of the rights & wrongs. The brazlian butt lift is fantastic. It definately solved my problem w/ having to always pull up my jeans. Its worth it. U will be up a size too
I always enjoy listening to you....great book Im really interested! If you have the money I would go ag=head and have the plastic surgery and then continue my workouts because thats eventually the road you will have to travel even after execising. One of the things I see that wls pts.say is they regret not having the surgery sooner. your buying clothes for a size 4 when your actually probably a size 2 after cosmetic surgery.
I just love your videos, the brizilian butt lift is the name of the procedure that uses access fat from your planks, sides, thighs, and transfers to butt. i looked into this as well.
Also, I have/had a white girl booty too lol but doing lots of squats added some bluk in musle and puled up whatever IS there to make a more round appearance.
Well, I get what you are saying about low carb, and yes low GI is great if you don't have insulin issues, when you have high insulin however, low carb really is the only way to go.. AND I ate more vegetables as a low carber than I did when I was a bread addict with crazy blood sugar ups and downs ;)
You look and sound great. Your 28 years old, don't beat yourself up over the past. Be proud that you overcame your food addiction at such a young age. Many of us look back now and kick ourselves for waiting so long.
i dont really want to spend every minute of every day thinking about food and my weight. :(

I HAVE HEARD THAT, WEIGHT LOSS CAN EITHER BE INTENTIONAL OR UNINTENTIONAL, U DECIDE. IF IT IS UNINTENTIONAL, I WOULD SUGGEST SEEKING MEDICAL TESTING
