Haunted Houses are the thing here in South-East Asia, and asians here love it.. They just love being scared and the queues went up to 2 hours for a school fair haunted house.. As a creative designer for my schools haunted house, We had a blue sky phase, sketches, concept art, design phase, storytelling phase, effects and engineering phase to create a 'well, cheapy' but immersive experience..
Too bad the budget has been cut on this ride and it won't have the trackless ride system. Seems like this happens too often. The Little Mermaid ride was announced as a multi-level ride only to go through tons of scaling down due to budget cuts. Can't complain about new dark rides though. Much better than replacing horizons with an expensive carnival ride.

But,well, now that they're expanding it to Hong Kong Disneyland...we'll just see. Probably they'll make S.E.A. a signature bacground for Asian Disney Parks. But hopefully, they keep it secret and implicit. Besides, it's a secret society.

You know, I wish Disneyland (The original one) and WDW would get completely originally themed E-Tickets like this instead of a bunch of Pixar tie-ins that just try to appeal to kids. Walt Disney always wanted originality not so many clones and tie-ins. :/

Yeah supposedly this incarnation won't feature any ghosts or graveyards but perhaps it'll be like Tower of Terror Tokyo in the sense of creepiness. Like at Tokyo, ghosts didn't play as big a part as in the States but it featured a menacing tiki god which may happen with this.

There's no grave yard scene, no ghosts, no stretching room. SO basically, this ISN'T going to be a "Haunted Mansion". so HKDL is going to be deprived of a Haunted Mansion.
I think they're going to have some variation of the stretching room.I do find the lack of graveyard, ghosts and other traditonal HM themes and elements dissapointing. However, ghosts are considered very sacred in traditional Chinese culture, and many could find MM trivializing.
@Gello70 , but some of the technologies used are going to be better than HM, see when that guy is explaining the cannon that will blast at the vehicle? this trackless vehicle actually spins and move as if hit by the cannon blast!
@fourzones I think this ride will be great although not as good as The Haunted Mansion. You have to remember how many years Haunted Hansion took to design, and was one of the last rides Walt had any input in to. This ride would fit in great in Animal Kingdom though (now theres an idea for Disney)

Walt himself said, "You can't top pigs with pigs" when he was asked to do a sequel to The Three Little Pigs. In the same vein, "you can't top the Haunted Mansion with the Haunted Mansion." It's been done. More than once. It's time to move on to other things. I hope Mystic Manor is a great experience.

i'm excited for this ride! i think it looks awesome and it's cool to see something different for once.
however, disneyland's haunted mansion is my favorite and always will be! i love the history behind it :)
