My friend had the same problem. It happened after he tried to install 4gb of extra ram. he eventually fixed it by removing his new ram, and remove and insert his old ram again.

@speedpenguin01 I have one really long beep sometimes now. Sometimes nothing happens it just turns on and the screen is blank. Other times it boots fine and runs amazingly fast, like 2 as fast as before it started doing this.
Just the memory... replace, or check the slots.

Today I fix the issue... The memory sticks was fine but one slot was broke... not so bad, I can live with 4GB instead 8.

Hmm this may seem like a broken logic board or you need to replace the ram cause thy both went bad. I think that you should take it to apple

It seems like only 1 beep on test start up. Probably no RAM or RAM inserted improperly. Anything done recently to it?
Here are the codes
1 beep = no RAM installed
2 beeps = incompatible RAM types
3 beeps = no good banks
4 beeps = no good boot images in the boot ROM (and/or bad sys config block)
5 beeps = processor is not usable
