My boxer just recently died. And nobody should be worried about that dog hurting their daughter. I grew up with my boxer from the time i was 10 till now 19. He was always fun and rambunctious, but they can tell when the need to be gentle. That boxer loves her and wouldnt ever do anything to her. Just like my boxer never hurt me, my two sisters, the bird, gerbil, hamster, bearded dragon, yellow lab, or our rescue mutt. They are one of the best dogs a child can ask to grow up with. RIP Otis :)

Boxers are one of the best breeds for kids, with few notable exceptions (sorry, Cookie, you were a klutz but a lovable one, lol). Linus reminds me of my best boxer bud Dutch, she played with balloons and tether balls the same way, and loved the kids. Regret not having a video camera in those days. :) Thanks for sharing this vid, brought back great memories. :D

Honestly, imo the risk of this child being hurt, even accidentally, by this lovable dog is going to decrease by the day. The child is getting older and therefore is going to have more common sense. She's going to be less vulnerable and is going to treat Linus better and give him less reasons to hurt her.

Don't let people's stupidity and fear bother you. It's never a dog problem - it's a people problem. When people are cruel to dogs and train and expect them to be mean - any dog will follow their leader human - even when they are worthless. What about the small dogs that are aggressive with no manners? Same problem, opposite end of the spectrum. A nice family will have nice kids and and nice dog - no worries.

It's all in the way you train them and they kind of energy around them. You guys seemed to have trained Linus very well and seem to have a very calm household... all of those are factors in the temperament of animals.. my family has owned our boxer (Trooper) for 7 years and he is wonderful. I love them.

While I am a huge fan of boxers and plan on getting one once I get out of college you shouldn't say that they would never hurt a baby or owners simply because different dogs can have different personalities. But, I do agree that the typical personality and temperament found in a boxer would exclude being harmful to others.
