@dima9944 Not really. Every good photographer has a tripod, and smart photographers have more than one. Reflector holders, umbrella holders, and many other photography equipment are designed to be add ons to tripods. So in a sense, this is a DIY reflector holder add on meant to be attached to a tripod.
@hoykuneho I think when most people think DIY, they think Do It Yourself (like with PVC pipes and such), as opposed to gear modifications which is altering equipment. It isn't that important, honestly, just misleading title.
@hoykuneho Photographers put cameras on tripods-this is on a light stand. Even the 'professional' reflector holders mount to light stands, so while this is limited, it's not bad for a couple of bucks and is a start. Maybe this will inspire someone else to come up with a true reflector holder with arm, that allows positioning. Of course, it will still need that light stand...
I really don't understand this and I don't really understand why no one sees what I see either. Why can't you just clamp the reflector to the top of the stand? I mean just take the a-clamp pointy side down, open the mouth, stick the reflector & peg into the mouth, close it.
why just don't put a wingnut washer on top of the 1/4" screw of the light stand and hang the reflector on the wingnut? I did it and it works well.

Seems a bit pointless to call it DIY when you have to buy a tripod for it.
