while most artists will agree that youtube is a great outlet as far as reaching a new audience, is it unfair for them to ask to be paid accordingly for their work? Youtube gets paid (advertising) everytime you come here, & they havent created a video yet, just hosted them. Why should'nt they break bread with the authors.. isnt that why people visit this site in the first place? Understand, for some of us this is our living. Would you go to work for free? Of course not, so why should I have to?

I'm not defending corruption, I'm defending the writer/publisher (hoping that the writer is the one who published their work). scroll up...you see that ad at the top of the page? Youtube got paid to put it there. The Chantels (or whoever published this song) decided (as anyone with good common sense would) "If you're (Youtube) getting paid everytime someone listens to MY MUSIC, how come I'm not?" Youtube didn't wanna pay, so the Chantels made them take it down. Sounds fair to me.

The Chantels always make melancholic, I don't know why, maybe cause their songs are so beautiful! Anyway, they are by far my favorite group of gals!! I even got all emotional when they recently appeared on one of the KPBS Doo Wop shows, shortly before, one of the original singers died! Luckily we got to see her perform one last time!!
