Insted of making the jump and going for the full partition I am running ubuntu on wubi - which uses space in the xp partition i believe and can be uninstalled literally like a windows program ie -add remove. Great! For the most part.. respnsive and fast, witha great interface and "cool" (mac like) compiz effects - that even amaze non-geeks. I did say love/ hate tho - fro the moment at least I have given up due to the frequent freezes and screwy program installs
