  • The echoes in the building accompany her so well. It seems like she knows the acoustics of this place. It's like a one person orchestra!! Bravo!

  • As many have already said, she's far from the only musician in Paris, and I'm sorry, it could be the recording or something, but it sounds terrible. Half the notes are flat, she's too slow, the vibrato is horrible, and her playing is hardly error-free. I enjoy music, even the simplest, most overdone things can be beautiful. This lady's performance is unfortunately nothing spectacular or even musical in my book, merely mechanical and vulgar in its mediocrity.

  • it doesn't matter how hard or how easy this song is to play... the point is, she played it beautifully and she did it with a smile on her face :) its something she loves to do, and who are we to judge on that ? i think she did an amazing job playing this and i could care LESS about the difficulty of the song. she has talent. so all you haters, lets hear YOU play it. if you cant play it with the amount of talent she can, then shut ya traps :) please and thank you.

  • Congrats for your music, keep going!!

  • sad part is everyone talking trash about this cant even play guitar hero well enough to match her level.

  • Easily my most favorite song. Beautifully done.

  • @ArkansasHarvest I just realized she's playing with other music in the background. My props are officially being revoked.

  • To be fair, Joshua Bell play in a DC subway, playing his Stradivarius worth $3.5 million and got about the same response. His sold out concert, 2 days before, went for $100 per seat.

  • If she wan't people to listen, she should start singing instead, and use the word "baby" a lot. Because that's what people wanna hear

  • I love the musicians playing outside, in the city, in the streets - I always say "Thank you" with a coin or a smile and I also feel "Thank you" deep inside, in my heart, because acoustic music touches me. It make me feel and stop a second. All the worries in every-days live. All the haste, the lack o time, thousands of "very important" things to do. run - run - run

These street-musicians give very valuable gift to the people who "hear" it.

  • Did she die? The video doesn't show her getting shot.

  • Oh my God! Why would your daughter shoot her? Too many guns...

  • bravo Madame super, elle vend d rêves....merci pour c 5:13 min

  • Recordemos que hay cosas que solo debemos tomarnos un tiempo para disfrutarlas ,, ,, pero que duran un siglo en nuestro recuerdo..

  • Your daughter should have shot the people who didn't stop to listen.

  • /watch?v=myq8upzJDJc&fb_source=message

  • I wouldn't excect people to stop, but if someone does then that's a bonus. It's the train station as well, some people don't have the time. There's quite a few musicans who play in my town and sometimes i think what they're playing is nice, but it's not enough to make me stop and stand there to listen/watch. There was a really good band playing the other day, there was woman stood there in the middle of the semi-pedestrianized street, the look on her face while watching them play was a picture.

  • No one stopped to listen because it's Pachelbel's Canon in D. That song is way over done and not difficult or impressive.

  • No, that is not a matter, if it is so easy then go and play it). It is a very beautiful melody.A VERY VERY BEAUTIFUL OPTIMISTIC MELODY, IT ONLY SHOWS THE IGNORANCE TO BEAUTY

  • @McSplat none the less, its still beautiful and all it would take for a passerby to express this to the musician to make her day..

  • @McSplat O RLY?

  • @McSplat but look, she`s using her hood as a flannel for chinrest, that`s so cool and original!!!!

  • @McSplat hu cares, she's TALENTED

    u try playing like dat

  • @McSplat Guess we'er all looking forward to you doing it now.

  • With all due respect to the violinist, the paris metros are flooded with musicians throughout the day. It's really only the tourists who believe this is a unique event. It's more about if you stop and listen, there's almost a moral obligation to give them money. Which is not what locals want to do when they pass by 5 musicians a day.

  • @savvysearch I think we are lucky to have musicians in the subway. They give joy freely, and if you don't have to give money if you don't want. From my part, I don't give them money all the time, but you can still applause them, and be grateful for what the bring>

  • @savvysearch But then again, who needs stupid little musicians anyways? This world would be better off without it. With attitudes like this young king, I reckon this world would be plastered with solid gold and rivers flowing with virgins for his delight, please tell me if my sarcasm is on point mr king.

  • @MrRichieRichieRichie Your sarcasm is prosaically overwrought and misdirected. It's perfectly fine if you have the time to listen to every musician you happen upon on the Paris subway. Other people don't. And no one should feel obliged to, especially out of some ill-conceived notion that appreciating music means that one ought to stop and listen every time they hear a tune.

  • The song is called Canon in D by Johann Pachelbel. One of the best classical violin songs ever written.

  • Comment removed

  • It brought tears to my eyes....

  • so good. thank you for making the world a better place.

  • No, it is not fake. I know the girl, she just has a very sober accompaniment in behind, just to make a better sound. I meet her quite often at Louvres subway station. Thaj ćaćes but śukar baśavel - sar śaj aśunen tumen korkorre ! Aj so te keras e gaʒenqe so na ʒanen te śunen la ? On korkorre kerde pen KAŚUKE katar-i godi !

  • If every person who walked by her had to do without music for just one day,

I bet they would sell their soul to hear her play again.

Talent like this should never go unrecognised!

  • What a beautiful piece. Perfect start to the day:)

  • Pachelbel canon in d-dur.

  • i kinda think that this is fake cause i can here another insturment playing or it is coming from the Radio

  • @nodrogtunkm music idiot. that's accompaniment. she doesn't have two hands to play two instrument at the same time...

  • so beautiful!

  • I would never be able to simply walk past such talent but not everyone will appreciate the beauty of a talented violinist...

  • ahhh pachelbels cannon.... how can someone ignore something so beautiful as this?! arrogant fools.

  • Pachelbels Cannon... beautiful!

  • I´m spanish and my english is so poor, but this scene is very sad and shows that the daily life of ours, does not let us see the beauty that surrounds us.

  • loooooooove it. !!!

  • Who cares....I have the same song on my ipod! In better quality too

  • wow that was amazing how could they just walk by?

  • @bertsbug we in paris we get annoyed with people like that, there are 3 or 4 every station. Must of us take the same line twice a day; hearing the same people... Paris is noisy. But she is very good.

  • ╭◄●♫♪...Enjoy :)

  • it`s so beautiful this girl and she`s singing so nice :x:x:x

  • lol the first thing I thought was "Now I've seen places and faces

And things you ain't never thought about thinking

If you ain't peek then you must be drinking and smokin'...."

  • people don't care about music anymore. They all have ipods and those "in ear phones", just to isolate from the world and not to hear-understand music (no real quality music ether).. Metro is bad place for this.. people don't care for each other there.. it is spot where people (money!) get lost if stoped for a second. Everyone has a problem, and no time for their children.. for themselves.. even less for some player on the street..

  • A beautiful piece, how could anybody not stop for this? Wow...

  • oh, and I'd have no change left for my sandwich at lunch time too LOL ;) (as I'd given it to her LOL)

  • HAHAHAHAHA I think I'd have stopped and be late for work if I stumbled upon her :)

  • Check out little miss bigot puss at 4:14.

  • Muy buena !!!! El otro día la vi tocando por la noche en la puerta del Louvre...sin palabras!!

  • Fitting metaphor for the modern world.

  • not perfectly in tune, but I would definitely stop for this

  • Totally amazing. One of my favorite classical pieces too. So well played.

  • Your daughter did good, I also record street perfomers on video and show it on internet, so many people can see them

  • so beautiful! played from the heart. One of my dreams is to learn how to play violin :)

  • How could ANYONE ignore this?

  • nice very nice

    amazing talent.

  • @alun1004 Pachelbel - Canon in D major

  • I don't think the beauty has been ignored....

and i believe 85,000 people are a witness to that fact! :)

  • Makes me sad to have to live in this age. The age where kids listen to screamer music. Where they forget the pure music which made this world great. But no. They would rather listen to their MP3s and stay inside all day watching TV then get out and learn to play in this grand world. I PITY THE FOOL!!!!

  • Well, someone did stop long enough to record this for the rest of to enjoy clear across the world in Ohio, USA! Thank you for sharing this performance!

  • CANON !!!!! LOVE IT AAAAAHHH :D

  • i'm in awww wow that is beautiful and amazing. she deserves an audience that can appreciate her talent in person.

  • the world is more interested in making money and paying off debts than appreciating music. Well the way our economy is structured it really is a "dog eat dog" society. Unfortunately talented musicians like this girl gets "eaten" and snobbed by the society.

  • ai ca merge daca mai repeti putin

  • I think that the violinist was just happy that one person was stopping to listen.

  • c'est un violon alto, et franchement du talent pour ce canon de pachelbel

    bravo

  • Her vibrato looks very weird but it sounds great

  • Music & love... open heart ... es imposible no pararse a darle al menos, las gracias...

  • The reason why people didn't stop and listen is because she is a gypsies they go into the Paris metro and play music to get money

  • @peytonredrocks

So what ! I think street music players deserve money so much more than beggars.

  • @lo313 you make think that, but that is your personal opinion and thats fine, but when you give them money you are encouraging them. yes her performance is beautiful and i give her credit for that, but it is a real problem, they play music and distract you, so that some can go and take your money.

  • perfecto..

  • The beautiful sound of the violin often brings tears of joy to my eyes :)

  • Any informacion on this lady?

    any emails or contact...?

    is she in Paris metro?

    name?

poor lady....what a great player and yes brilliant musicians can memorize sheet music

  • @almisr I don't know her, but I can say that I used this same metro everyday when I visited Paris for a week a year ago, and she played this same song every single day. BEAUTIFUL, sounds even more tear-inspiring live... But many of these people have probably just heard it again, and again, and again...

  • en lo personal me gusta su estilo y su tecnica, es llevadera para con lo que toca y es importante en un violinista. te felicito, sea quien seas y en donde estes.

  • 1:09 - The Canon Rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @blindgazzo No.... it's just Canon. Y'know... the original Pachelbel one.

  • @LaughingMage Yes, you're right, I knew....but I love Mattrach version, I prefer Metal than Classical m.

  • she has the sheet music memorized!? is that common for musicians??

  • @jamaq For pros yeah, most people play with it as a guiding hand so if they get lost of forget a part they can stay on pace. My friend who plays cello says he knows all the parts he just forgets when to play them sometimes

  • Beautiful!

  • WOW

  • Paryska kulturka :)

    Dziewczyna odp..tak na w metrze i nic......

  • Paryska kulturka :)

  • Listen closely. There's at least one more person playing (harp or guitar and a triangle). Why isn't that person in the video too?

  • @Sumfera - the triangle and guitar guys are placed in the venting shaft to the right. Or.... could it be a recording?;)

  • @AnalogSweden Could be both. ;)

  • seriously? i was expecting chaconne, or paganini. but PACHELBEL?! i could do that.

  • I love pachelbels canon -3

  • Palais-Royal Musée du Louvre

  • this is very nice

  • I love that she is using the hood of her shirt for comfort over the chin piece

  • Oh to be in the Paris Metro again. To hear the sweet sounds of the gifted tallents there. She also has cd's for sale.

  • TEARS!

  • Sad to see. Don't feel too bad, Joshua Bell was ignored in the Washington Metro during an experiment. View =myq8upzJDJc to see it.

  • Can I download this on I tunes? How can I get it, I search for beautiful? Or just amazing?

  • NO COMENT !!! Just listen !

  • very good. playing, when i was in paris we had music in the metro also

  • people don t understand what is art and beauty ...

  • Sweet!

  • Interesting to find this video. I was just in Paris in Oct and ran into her and video taped as she also played. There is so much incredible talent in the metro - every now and then you run across someone like this who deserves to be recognized or at least tipped.

  • @duchessblue now they must reognize her for playing in big orchestra's.

  • She plays very well, a beautiful very innovative and personal rendition of the canon in D. The violin looks like an old Villaume copy, which are quite popular y France and Belgium. The G and D strings are powerful enough, and produce a rich warm sound. Thanks for posting.

  • -Interprete: Johann Pachelbel

    -Cancion: Canon in D

  • @paton1993 Quieres decir "compositor". El intérprete es esa señora desconocida.

  • @Ellohir si gracias por la correcion ;)

  • Beautiful!!! Gave me goosebumps!!! I hope I see someone like this play in the subway when I go to Paris this June 2011!!! This is beautiful!!! Magnific!!!

  • @TaeMee1958 sometimes at Bastille, you got a large russian band who plays lots of nice songs and musics. They are amazing. They are often at the station, I hope u'll see them ;)

  • People don't stop to listen because they have jobs to go to. She is there to cash in on tourists like the person recording. I have seen her on many occasions. Paris is very busy and if you have people blocking the flow then the metro police will ask her to move on. She doesn't go broke. Trust me!

  • I would be late for work and I'd be happy about it, as amazing and beautiful things happen so rarely that you have to stop and enjoy the moment as that is what adds flavor to life, work, its not going anywhere as it will be waiting for me to arrive and so I work a little later to make up the missed time, well worth the moment.

  • whats the name of the song / piece she plays?

    loving it!!

  • @Operstamphur Canon in D, Pachelbel

  • Gorgeous video. And this woman plays brilliantly... I kind of wish I could buy one of her no doubt reasonably priced cd's on display.

  • She is wonderful. I would be very happy, if someone could give me the opportunity to listen to more of her music. I dont`t feel well. My life is maybe not long enough to meet her in Paris. I feel too weak to travel. Music helps me to survive.

Your music ist wonderful. May God give me strength, to listen to you in Paris.

  • @digirstar omg are you ok

  • @fanofjapanandmusic I don´t feel good. Every day is a struggle for survival.

Sometimes I'm tired of the struggle for survival and want to die.

If i see or hear wonderful things like this music it gives me strength to continue living.

    Thank You.

  • @digirstar i would love to play music for you! i play the cello, do you live in the united states?

  • @fanofjapanandmusic I live in Germany. I am not happy here. I had a very unhappy life here since I was 5. Now 38 hard years !

    Bad destiny......

  • @digirstar I hope you are doing better by now... do you play music at all?

  • i know her...she is very good and makes good money, nowdays she as a dog and stays at Palays Royal Station, near the underground direct entrance to the Louvre.

  • Bravisima!

  • Actually, in the USA this kind of presentation would be escorted out.

It's controversial who can use the Public space for their own advancement. Street musicians simply try it out and see what happens.... but it presents a good question grounded on freedom of speech concepts and what each City's laws are.

Pachelbel Canon is sure to please, in just about any form. I wish more music by J. Pachelbel had been preserved. He was the music tutor of the oldest brother of the famous J.S. Bach.

  • This is just wonderful!!

  • You stopped, and others who have time, want to listen do also. It happens in most cities the same thing, and in my view...helps make the cities what they are.

  • Comment removed

  • me hubiera encantado estar ese día en el metro :D

  • wow this is phenomenal!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i would love to live in paris, i would stay next to her all day listening, even when she plays CANON, its so beautiful. If people go out to play like this in mexico, for other people you are crazy, or even they may shoot you for disturbing the streets. Believe me im from mexico lol. Anyway, in these cases all you can do is to listen music only with music players. Im proud i play violin too.

  • Beautiful, thank you - you may never read this, but you are loved.

  • Beautiful, thank you, angel of music! You really don't have to stop to enjoy it.

  • so thats how u make money in paris :D?

som one toss her a franc! XD

  • @ForeverGoth Is not about money fool. Is music

  • @diegotutiven well i would have tossed her a franc -_-

  • @ForeverGoth The Franc was ousted Jan 1, 1999 when 11 countries switched to the Euro.

  • well id definetely stopped

  • i think that ignorance may be caused by playing regular classical pieces, you know.. it is just not much outstanding for regular people

  • We have people playing in London, you can hear the beautiful music along the corridors well before and after you are near the musician. I always pay something but then I only travel to London occasionally.

  • o.o such an easy song - pachabels cannon in D ....

  • @MONSTARFCUK

    sometimes simple is beautiful ...

  • I heard that some musicians get annoyed after a while and get on the train to st. petersburg or moscow from paris and get high on w/e they can their hands on

  • song is nice;):d

  • I stopped..dropped a few coins and stayed for a while..it's nice when you take the time..they appreciate it..I always got a smile back.

  • @irinah94

Johann Pachelbel Canon in D Major

  • song is

Johann Pachelbel Canon in D Major

  • I got tears in my eyes :) Amazing!

If she would play in Germany i guess she would get over a hundred € a day!

  • @hannamannaxay she wouldn´t believe me....

  • @hannamannaxay heck ya!

  • looks like she is enjoying it herself, paris is lucky to have performers like her around

i live in a place that has none of these,

  • "oh this is beautiful, this is this this is that"

    Jesus shut up...

anyone classically trained knows t his is a cake walk for her.

  • @kyeruu2 But most people cannot do this, thats why we think it's beautiful, plus it's an opinion.... Don't be such a hater

  • I would kill to know how to play a violin like that!!!

  • Canon in D major ... nice ^-^

    TOT

    T~T

  • jjeease ppl just dont care for music do they there so mean violins normally make up the music for rock ddduhh
