I was insulting the 118 butthurt Russians, not all of Russia. Go look at the rest of the SR-71 videos on YouTube... more than half of them have Russians talking shit about the Su-25 or whatever the hell it is being "better".
I stand by my original comment. Oh, and regarding the space thing, you don't want to go there with that argument. We all know how it ended.
@cavalrytm Why is that lol? Russians had Mig-25 which was an interceptor/recon and still holds some world records.. Top speed of 3600 kph and flight ceiling of 125k feet.
"Above Mach 2.8 the [Mig-25] engines would overheat and burn up."
"The Mig-25 cannot intercept the SR-71 for several reasons: The SR-71 fly too high and too fast; the Mig cannot reach it or catch it. The missiles lack the velocity to overtake the SR-71 and in the event of a head on missile fire (The Golden BB), the Guidance system cannot adjust to the high closure rate of the SR-71." - Viktor Belenko, defected Russian Mig-25 pilot.
MiG-25 Top Speed: Mach 3.2 (no sources) unsustained, & w/ engine failure.
SR-71 Top Speed: Mach 3.3 SUSTAINED.
In October of 1967, pilot Mikhail M. Komarov averaged 2,981.5 km/h (NOT Mach 3.2). There is no mention of his absolute top speed, and there's no sources for the above mentioned Mach 3.2 claim.
The SR-71 was never lost to an enemy aircraft or SAM. They tried, and had years of opportunities but could never shoot even one Blackbird down.
@fromspace63 - Why such awesome plane already "retyred" ? The SR-71 was "already" RETIRED with a first flight, 22 December 1964, Retired 1998 after over 34 years of service. Not exactly an overnight retirement, was it ?
@saityc - You are kidding right ? The top speed (approx) of the SR 71 was around Mach 3+ so Mach 8 is a bit of a stretch and no the UK isnt flying one, at that speed or any other.
@fromspace63 Too expensive to run these days, and satellites can do just as good, if not a better job, end of the day, it was a spy/recon plane, with modern tech, satellites made this graceful bird obsolete.
@roadsweeper1 Actually, satellites cannot to a better job, however it is much more cheaper politically to now use drones instead of manned aircraft. Satellites can take as much as 24 hours to get into position, allowing the adversary to hide any goodies we were looking for. With a spy plane, you can spy at will, without time constraints.
the true speed of the sr71 has never been disclosed they have just said its speed is mach 3 plus i grew up with this plane my father worked on it when he was in the air force he was on one of the first support crews for it its still an great accomplishment for a plane that was designed in the 50s without computer chips and electronics we have now and to be in service for over 30 years
@DeadlyAura76 They were a combination of ram/turbo jet engines. Everywhere below mach 3, most of the thrust was a result of the compression/burn process of the turbojet. Once past mach 3, the intense compression that resulted from the spikes up from meant 70% of the thrust originated purely from bypass air - air that didn't go through the turbofan's compressor stages - being directed straight into the afterburner. Very efficient, very fast.
Ben Rich author of Skunk Works said 70% of the Blackbird's thrust was created by the cone in front of the engines. It moved up to two feet in and out. It acted as a throttle.
LOL the fastest? If you believe that the U.S. Air-Force has not made some thing swifter and mightier than the SR-71, than you have fooled yourselves!

Ex-habu pilot in Florida named Thomas Estes. He told me that Kelly Johnson told them that the plane would go up to 3.3 Mach but that was about it. The X-15 was rocket powered and went Mach 6.7 at well over 150,000 ft, so the idea that a jet could do mach 7 at 85 to 100 thousand feet is absurd. There is a book called "SR-71 the secret missions exposed" by a man by the name of Paul Crickmore that you should read, it tells all about the "oxcart" program and gives you names, dates, and facts about
@alexsnebeid54321 thats a rocket plane. the undisclosed top speed of the sr71 is very underrated of what it actually can perform at. I know the number but if i told you, the government would probably track me down.
@150peacemaker ok one its not a rocket plane its a jet two the top that 3.2 in mach those engines have that max so far for a manned jet learn your facts
@XDpro3D the x15 is a "rocket" plane that used a xlr99 "rocket" engine. a jet engine uses "jet A" or Kerosene for fuel which the sr71 uses cause its a "jet". I was responding to alexsnebeid54321 that the sr71 is faster then the x15. look at what you say to who you say it to fucker. mach 3.2 is the cruse speed number released to the general public. you can see it on wikipedia where you got your facts but the top speed of the sr71 is somewhere close to mach 7. i know this because i know people.
@150peacemaker im sorry but 2,193.2 mph is not mach 7 and no i didnt get my facts from wikipedia its called you read from a book mach 3.2 is not the cruise speed i read military books at times and Capt. Eldon W. Joersz and Maj. George T. Morgan can also tell you that plane cant even reach those speeds and that record they hold isnt at mach 7 sorry get your facts and learn them from TALKING to airforce members and knowing more about the plane
@XDpro3D you read too many bed time stories and believe everything you read or hear. the real top speed number couldn't be released do to the fact of the cold war between the soviet union cause it was heating up and was ultra ts. My father had top secret clearance and has told me a lot more then i needed to know of what they did at area 51. those Airforce members, engineers, and pilots you speak of have sworn to the C.I.A to never reveal its true capability . Thats what top secret kinda means.
@150peacemaker lol the SR-71 wasnt even made in the cold war you fucktard it was made during nam and kept a secret till around the late 70's i know this plane better then you and if your father did then your a idiot because he wouldnt even be classified to tell you and the pilots of the SR-71 dont swore to CIA they belong to the US Airforce who had the CIA to help make Groom Lake Base
@XDpro3D in 1964 was the first flight and was contracted in 1966 to do what?? oh i have the answer! spy on the russians! listen you fucking dick fuck, learn "you" fucking facts. we where fighting two wars, the cold war with the russians and a hot war with vietnam. You know the cuban missile crisis? 1962? yeah thats sounds like the year things started to escalate in vietnam. see, i just solved a void in your comment! which gives me the right to say "YOU DONT KNOW SHIT"
@150peacemaker yes i know about the missle crisis but no the SR-71 was not made to spy on the russians it was made for Recon and Data Analysis the Data part was for NASA and and i do know when the jet was first flown just so you know also only 32 were made and 12 are gone from accidents. plus you do know the public didnt see it till the mid 70's and it became public and also had all missions classified and still are today the jet it self is not classified.
@XDpro3D yes 32 were made but actually none were lost this is the only know aircraft to not lose one of them now they are all in museums but NASA has one that they very rarely use every once in a while
@1969vwdub ..The Habu had a 17 year period in which not a single SR-71 was lose, the best safety record in the USAF 1972 to 1989 not a single writeoff.prior to this 12 Habu were writtenoff during the early flight period up to 1972...all remaining SR-71's are classified as museum status by the DOD, the last NASA SR-71 was trucked to MI in 2004 for permanent display, a very sad ending for the Habu,, so yes all the SR-71's are now gone from service...THX
@pipercub123456 no since of late 2009 and early 2010 they flown the habu and stating its back in action the airforce got their wish of bringing it back from its so called final retire
@1969vwdub 12 are gone and only 20 exist today and they are about 4-5 in museums the rest was kept in storage and the jet is alive now again 12 were lost from non combat and by lost i mean they are destroyed by accidental times and NASA owns maybe 3-5 also and dont use them anymore meaning the remaining 10-15 are used in missions once again
@maaktnieuit1 ..The SR-71 is the only AIRPLANE that can cruise in straight and level flight @Mach 3.20 for up to 70 minutes, @ AMSL of 85,000 Ft..no other airplane even comes close....THX
@pipercub123456 it can actually stay in the air at that speed for a longer time due to the 1 ft expansion of the titanium skin and sealing the leak of JP-7 fuel it also gets stronger
I love the Blackbird, but my guess it's not the fastest in the world anymore. Fastest unclassified yes. But I don't think it would have been retired without something to take it's place. After all, it's been 45 years since it entered service.
@mattuniversiloise the aurora is a myth aircraft its not real the stories of it lead into the SR-71 due to the "triangular" shape the aurora never existed at all
@mattuniversiloise mach is the speed of sound so mach one means it breaks the sound barrier once and it rises up each mach creates a sonic boom getting louder the faster your speed and the shape of the aircraft
Fun Fact about the SR-71, they have to fuel it up RIGHT before they take them out of the hanger and onto the runway because of how they are built to allow the jet to expand from the heat caused by the friction and while on the ground.. The fuel tanks leak, Constantly.
This plane is actually not the fastest; Nasa's X-43A, reaching speeds of Mach 9.8 or 7,459 miles (12,004 km) per hour, and at this rate, it could go around the world's equator in just over 3 and a half hours! Then it's the MiG-25R Foxbat-B, then the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird in third place.
@JustCharlieVideos The SR-71 is still regarded as the fastest plane ever build because it is the fastest jet plane with a breathable atmosphere to date, the X-15 was build before the SR-71 and had already flown faster reaching mach 6.7, however the X-15 like the X-43 is a rocket plane and does not have a breathable atmosphere. Also the Mig 25 did not exceed the records set by the SR-71 although it does still hold the world altitude record at 123,000 feet I believe.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@JustCharlieVideos the X-43A is a ram or scram jet ITS UNMANNED and not a true aircraft its small and isnt bigger then 6 feet normally and the MiG-25R Foxbat-B can go up to mach 3.2 at the max but the engines would be damaged and the plane would soon die fast the SR-71 blackbird has the capability to go faster then 3.2 in mach but cant due to fuel storage and its current engines also the SR-71 holds the world record for being the fastest breathing aircraft.
@MrBleedthefreak yes really when the SR-71 black bird got of its first retirement it got replaced in 1998 due to low budget out of there 70 grand and the risk of loosing unmanned aircraft research
@Lolagramful SR-71B Blackbird. The B-variation was intented to pilot training, I recall there was only one of those. All other Blackbirds were of SR-71A -type.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@Lolagramful the SR-71 has two cockpits because it takes 2 brains to fly this plane one deals with the recon and data the other is the main pilot both pilots have one major factor they have to be married
@FutureLaugh the x-15 is the fastest maned plane but the blackbird is the fastest one that is airbreating baisicly it has a jet engine and the x-15 a rocket engine. the x-15 is faster though
screw black ops. I learned this plane from me searching around the internet trying to find a good rc plane to buy and a sr-71 came up and really got my attention :D..... good times
@asiankid107 Ok first off i played black ops many times. I am in the navy I think I no what Im talking about when i say that plane is to good for that game. Blackbird is still the fastest plane in the world to day.
@cloverfieldnights I wasnt talking about what you know about your planes 'n' stuff. Black ops makes it possible for you to make call of duty more like your own game. Its mostly about customization. In MW you rarely pay attention to your gun. In black ops, it stands out much more. In MW, you feel like your in a box. you can barely do anything in the maps. In black ops, you can use the maps more to your advantege. So what im saying is that black ops has more possibilities. You can do much more.
@cosminso1230 The space shuttles can't fly, when they come back into land, they never get a second chance. All they do is glide back down, not an airplane.
@BIGDTFC they're a spacecraft once they're in space, thus the name "space" craft. But when they're in the air, they're an "air" craft. They are also the fastest moving aircraft.
@cosminso1230 so a baseball is an aircraft? your missing the point the shuttle can not take off like an airplane it does not fly. it rides a rocket to space and then falls to earth. my balls fall slightly when i get out of bed but it doesnt make them an airplane.

XDpro3D 1 month ago
@XDpro3D in 1964 was the first flight and was contracted in 1966 to do what?? oh i have the answer! spy on the russians! listen you fucking dick fuck, learn "you" fucking facts. we where fighting two wars, the cold war with the russians and a hot war with vietnam. You know the cuban missile crisis? 1962? yeah thats sounds like the year things started to escalate in vietnam. see, i just solved a void in your comment! which gives me the right to say "YOU DONT KNOW SHIT"
150peacemaker 1 month ago
@150peacemaker yes i know about the missle crisis but no the SR-71 was not made to spy on the russians it was made for Recon and Data Analysis the Data part was for NASA and and i do know when the jet was first flown just so you know also only 32 were made and 12 are gone from accidents. plus you do know the public didnt see it till the mid 70's and it became public and also had all missions classified and still are today the jet it self is not classified.
XDpro3D 1 month ago
@XDpro3D yes 32 were made but actually none were lost this is the only know aircraft to not lose one of them now they are all in museums but NASA has one that they very rarely use every once in a while
1969vwdub 1 month ago
@1969vwdub ..The Habu had a 17 year period in which not a single SR-71 was lose, the best safety record in the USAF 1972 to 1989 not a single writeoff.prior to this 12 Habu were writtenoff during the early flight period up to 1972...all remaining SR-71's are classified as museum status by the DOD, the last NASA SR-71 was trucked to MI in 2004 for permanent display, a very sad ending for the Habu,, so yes all the SR-71's are now gone from service...THX
pipercub123456 1 month ago 48
@pipercub123456 no since of late 2009 and early 2010 they flown the habu and stating its back in action the airforce got their wish of bringing it back from its so called final retire
XDpro3D 1 month ago
@1969vwdub 12 are gone and only 20 exist today and they are about 4-5 in museums the rest was kept in storage and the jet is alive now again 12 were lost from non combat and by lost i mean they are destroyed by accidental times and NASA owns maybe 3-5 also and dont use them anymore meaning the remaining 10-15 are used in missions once again

many say it isnt the fastest plane but this is the only of them who can land like a plane and start like a plane
maaktnieuit1 2 months ago
@maaktnieuit1 ..The SR-71 is the only AIRPLANE that can cruise in straight and level flight @Mach 3.20 for up to 70 minutes, @ AMSL of 85,000 Ft..no other airplane even comes close....THX
pipercub123456 2 months ago
@pipercub123456 it can actually stay in the air at that speed for a longer time due to the 1 ft expansion of the titanium skin and sealing the leak of JP-7 fuel it also gets stronger
XDpro3D 1 month ago
I love the Blackbird, but my guess it's not the fastest in the world anymore. Fastest unclassified yes. But I don't think it would have been retired without something to take it's place. After all, it's been 45 years since it entered service.

@libra8a Fastest manned aircraft. We have unmanned that can go Mach 10. Check out X-43.

@mattuniversiloise yes it is.. three times faster than sound
1x65x 2 months ago
@1x65x wow! is it faster than light? is it faster than aurora hypersonic?
mattuniversiloise 2 months ago
@mattuniversiloise the aurora is a myth aircraft its not real the stories of it lead into the SR-71 due to the "triangular" shape the aurora never existed at all
XDpro3D 1 month ago
@XDpro3D tnx
mattuniversiloise 1 month ago
@mattuniversiloise mach is the speed of sound so mach one means it breaks the sound barrier once and it rises up each mach creates a sonic boom getting louder the faster your speed and the shape of the aircraft
XDpro3D 1 month ago

JustCharlieVideos 3 months ago
@JustCharlieVideos The SR-71 is is in second place the X-43 not being a plane.
vrsman10 2 months ago
@vrsman10 I was just going to say that, X-43 is more like a rocket.
furyfrombelow 2 months ago
@JustCharlieVideos The SR-71 is still regarded as the fastest plane ever build because it is the fastest jet plane with a breathable atmosphere to date, the X-15 was build before the SR-71 and had already flown faster reaching mach 6.7, however the X-15 like the X-43 is a rocket plane and does not have a breathable atmosphere. Also the Mig 25 did not exceed the records set by the SR-71 although it does still hold the world altitude record at 123,000 feet I believe.
DeadMemories03 2 months ago
This comment has received too many negative votes show
@JustCharlieVideos the X-43A is a ram or scram jet ITS UNMANNED and not a true aircraft its small and isnt bigger then 6 feet normally and the MiG-25R Foxbat-B can go up to mach 3.2 at the max but the engines would be damaged and the plane would soon die fast the SR-71 blackbird has the capability to go faster then 3.2 in mach but cant due to fuel storage and its current engines also the SR-71 holds the world record for being the fastest breathing aircraft.

MrBleedthefreak 3 months ago in playlist Queue (75)
@MrBleedthefreak yes really when the SR-71 black bird got of its first retirement it got replaced in 1998 due to low budget out of there 70 grand and the risk of loosing unmanned aircraft research

Is there a different model I don't know of?
Or is it fake?

@Lolagramful the SR-71 has two cockpits because it takes 2 brains to fly this plane one deals with the recon and data the other is the main pilot both pilots have one major factor they have to be married

@FutureLaugh the x-15 is the fastest maned plane but the blackbird is the fastest one that is airbreating baisicly it has a jet engine and the x-15 a rocket engine. the x-15 is faster though

asiankid107 3 months ago
@asiankid107 Ok first off i played black ops many times. I am in the navy I think I no what Im talking about when i say that plane is to good for that game. Blackbird is still the fastest plane in the world to day.
cloverfieldnights 3 months ago

Offstake 4 months ago
@Offstake i never said they fly, but they're the fastest moving aircraft in the world.
cosminso1230 4 months ago
@cosminso1230 We're talking about planes and you mention one that you say doesn't "fly"?
Why bother mentioning it then?
I may have the hardest slapshot in the world but if I can't skate I can never be said to be the best hockey player in the world.
One positive doesn't override the negative.
Offstake 4 months ago
@cosminso1230 they are not considered "aircraft" they are spacecraft. in air they are considered re entry vehicle.
BIGDTFC 4 months ago
@BIGDTFC they're a spacecraft once they're in space, thus the name "space" craft. But when they're in the air, they're an "air" craft. They are also the fastest moving aircraft.
cosminso1230 3 months ago
@cosminso1230 so a baseball is an aircraft? your missing the point the shuttle can not take off like an airplane it does not fly. it rides a rocket to space and then falls to earth. my balls fall slightly when i get out of bed but it doesnt make them an airplane.
BIGDTFC 3 months ago
This comment has received too many negative votes show
@cosminso1230 ya because the jets are off and its falling FALLING down due to GRAVITY plus ITS WEIGHT equals velocity of its speed going down
XDpro3D 1 month ago
@searchoverload8 Any plane that needs another plane to take off doesn't qualify. Did Mario Lemieux need other players to skate for him..
You're talking about a UAV, quite different from a plane.
