The Forsaken and the Scourge are two separate entities. When Illidan attacked the frozen throne, the lich kings grasp over the scourge temporarily weakened. This allowed Sylvanas and other scourge to break free of the lich kings control. These undead became the Forsaken. The Blood Elves and the Forsaken are both fighting the Scourge so it makes sense for them to ally.
Also the Alliance betrayed the Blood Elves so they had no other choice but the Horde.
1. Forsaken comprises of a former blood-elf general as their leader and then the people of Lordoran who were closely allied with the belfs
2. Arthas destroyed both Lordoran and Quel'Thalas so both homelands were affected
3. Normal humans kill undead on site. Belfs were betrayed by the alliance.
4. Geogrpahically, Belf and Forsaken could dominate all of northern azeroth , would make sense the belfs to ally to create a buffer between them and other ally nations

It wasn't the alliance parsay who drove them away, but the single human race!! The rest of the alliance races really didn't have much to do with it. . Personally i prefer night elves, the only thing is my favourite class is the mage, then the blood elves kick in, who are my favourite Horde race so i've constantly been going back and forward between them!! I agree with Ginkiba3, no race is really evil! Each faction just has their shades of grey between eachother eg: Warsong gulch-Night elves+Orcs

The only evil races are the Forsaken, but they're are exceptions.
Blood elves are just High Elves who've gone all fanatic, think if France was destroyed and became something close to North Korea or Nazi Germany, high class and culture combined with militarism and fascism. The blood elves have thrown away personal freedoms and honor to glorify they're nation and those that died in the invasion to reclaim they're lost glory.
There is no good or evil in the Horde or Alliance, just shades of grey.
None of the races are evil, they just do what ever it takes to survive. Btw will there ever be high elves as playable charictars? Kinda spir ballin for next next expansion blizz :)

Blizzard is doing a great job at innovating their own stories, and at the same time having an identity of their own.
Back in the Warcraft days, the entire lore was already told before in fantasy books before it.
The Alliance is not evil and the Horde is not evil too the only real evil is the Burning Legion only because of it the war between those 2 factions began without the legion the orcs would never be corrupted by the demonic magic
Second mistake: Mistaking the idea of "Pristine and Sterile" with "Prissy Super Models."
Third Mistake: The Blood Elves were portrayed in such a way it brought the wrong people to the Horde. People who would have never touched Horde because "Eww, tusks!".
Fourth Mistake: The dance for males.... That's all I should have to say about that.

@dylanfleck Obviously, you don't know the basic things about the warcraft lore either. "Blood elves" with blue eyes are called high elves. Very few of them survived. Therefore, it would be another breaking of the lore, because many would pick the new race.
I know a lot about the lore but what i said was there is tones of high elfs in NR and dalaran i find the gnome population to be far less then the high elf population :)

The Orcs started senselessly killing when they were corrupted with fel magic, Thrall led them out of their blood lust though some Orcs are still held by it. Except what did that person who is now undead do other then die? Many who are Forsaken were innocent in their lives, moreso then some humans who do quite diabolical deeds while they still live. Think of the Tauren who are with the Horde, they only want peace to worship the Earth Mother and Sky Father. The Orcs helped them in their war against the Centaurs. If anyone has been the most diplomatic among current history it has been Thrall. Also the main 'evil' currently was human (i.e. Arthas)

Slyvanas was a HIGH ELF before the became queen of the Forsaken.
She was murdered by ARHTAS and was then bought back as a banshee under his control to serve him against her own will.
Once his control over her and others like her began to deteriorate she escaped and raised her own army to fight against Arthas. She still tries to help the blood elves in any way she can, Why do you think there are undead in Tranquillein!?
i don't have time to school you on warcraft lore. Go to wowwiki and type in blood elf lore and it's easy to see how evil they were. Even just roll a blood elf and play their starting quests.
All Orcs were corrupted with Fel Magic, at least those that ever came to Azeroth. They broke free from that curse. Blood Elves might not have been enslaved persay, true. They were however tricked when Kael'thas when insane.

Not all humans "betrayed" the blood elves like many horde players seem to think. What about the hundreds of human Alliance soldiers under King Terenas who died defending Silvermoon from the Scourge?
forsaken were never evil, they were just under control of the lich king, you could easily say the night elves were evil or humans were evil or even dwarves with all the civil wars they had even amongst their good brothers.
theyre selfish as hell though and consider the rest of the Horde primative and only useful to further their own self-serving purposes. It even says that in the Forsaken opening video.

High elves also tend to have paler skin and lighter hair, usually white or blonde. They also usually don't wear red, as they want to separate themselves from Blood Elf culture as much as possible.
Their is no longer a Good or a Evil side. The Ally side wants the world to return to how it was before the great wars. The Horde side are now trying to fight for the survial.
Most people who play Alliance play the Horde becuse of the Blood elves and most Horde players hate the Blood elves and would never play a blood elf unless it was a blood elf paladin but that might just be my server i don't know how other people might say to that it's just from what i heard in trade chat or the forms

The only evil races are the Forsaken, but they're are exceptions.
Blood elves are just High Elves who've gone all fanatic, think if France was destroyed and became something close to North Korea or Nazi Germany, high class and culture combined with militarism and fascism. The blood elves have thrown away personal freedoms and honor to glorify they're nation and those that died in the invasion to reclaim they're lost glory.
There is no good or evil in the Horde or Alliance, just shades of grey.

Blizzard is doing a great job at innovating their own stories, and at the same time having an identity of their own.
Back in the Warcraft days, the entire lore was already told before in fantasy books before it.

The Alliance is not evil and the Horde is not evil too the only real evil is the Burning Legion only because of it the war between those 2 factions began without the legion the orcs would never be corrupted by the demonic magic

First mistake: Breaking the Lore at all.
Second mistake: Mistaking the idea of "Pristine and Sterile" with "Prissy Super Models."
Third Mistake: The Blood Elves were portrayed in such a way it brought the wrong people to the Horde. People who would have never touched Horde because "Eww, tusks!".
Fourth Mistake: The dance for males.... That's all I should have to say about that.

@dylanfleck Obviously, you don't know the basic things about the warcraft lore either. "Blood elves" with blue eyes are called high elves. Very few of them survived. Therefore, it would be another breaking of the lore, because many would pick the new race.

Niether the horde or alliance is good or evil, they both fight to survive and restore order. Its kinda hinted that the best way for them to beat their enemies would be to band together. For example, they both are having problems with the burning legion and the scourge.

actually your wrong. The Horde may be darker and more brutal but they are not evil. In the first 2 warcraft games yes the horde was evil but in warcraft 3 and WoW no they are not evil.

You're like 12 right? Not as an insult just... an observation. You're seeing it as black and white. The factions are quite gray area. If you really want an 'evil' faction look to the Alliance. The humans are corrupted and yes Varynn and Thrall refuse to see eye to eye it's usually Varynn, the Human King who starts a lot of the trouble. The Horde just wants to survive and live, the Alliance wants to destroy that which they see as wrong. Neither is evil, both corrupt in their ways.

The Orcs started senselessly killing when they were corrupted with fel magic, Thrall led them out of their blood lust though some Orcs are still held by it. The Belves were tricked and enslaved by Kael'Thas and Illidan, fel magic once more leading to a destructive nature. Evil is a very opinionated word. Would someone who kills puppys to feed them to starving orphans be evil?

Except what did that person who is now undead do other then die? Many who are Forsaken were innocent in their lives, moreso then some humans who do quite diabolical deeds while they still live. Think of the Tauren who are with the Horde, they only want peace to worship the Earth Mother and Sky Father. The Orcs helped them in their war against the Centaurs. If anyone has been the most diplomatic among current history it has been Thrall. Also the main 'evil' currently was human (i.e. Arthas)

Slyvanas was a HIGH ELF before the became queen of the Forsaken.
She was murdered by ARHTAS and was then bought back as a banshee under his control to serve him against her own will.
Once his control over her and others like her began to deteriorate she escaped and raised her own army to fight against Arthas. She still tries to help the blood elves in any way she can, Why do you think there are undead in Tranquillein!?

All Orcs were corrupted with Fel Magic, at least those that ever came to Azeroth. They broke free from that curse. Blood Elves might not have been enslaved persay, true. They were however tricked when Kael'thas when insane.

Not all humans "betrayed" the blood elves like many horde players seem to think. What about the hundreds of human Alliance soldiers under King Terenas who died defending Silvermoon from the Scourge?

High elves also tend to have paler skin and lighter hair, usually white or blonde. They also usually don't wear red, as they want to separate themselves from Blood Elf culture as much as possible.

Most people who play Alliance play the Horde becuse of the Blood elves and most Horde players hate the Blood elves and would never play a blood elf unless it was a blood elf paladin but that might just be my server i don't know how other people might say to that it's just from what i heard in trade chat or the forms
