@flowers1122 I'll agree, I got an aunt who lives in Victoria, BC...my god that place is over priced. $600,000 for a house. I toured Vancouver and I got to admit the buildings aren't all that tall but there are just tons of them making a very nice skyline. I don't know what the rest of Canada real estate costs but by no means is that area cheap
this was not the official Olympics Closing ceremony. This was a satellite venue in Richmond which hosted a concert stage, the Heineken House and some other free events for people looking for Olympic related stuff
Im Canadian but was in the states for the opening ceremonies i watched it on NBC and it was the biggest joke ever they had no clue what they where talking about. Horrible! Typical ignorant Americans. Its sad but Canada USA relationship is getting worse and worse i think it's the fact Canada is loved more by the world and America gets ragged on by the rest. O well that what you get when you turn politics into a popularity contest! And the wrong guy always win! (Oboma) what a joke lol
@Brendanberlingeri I'm American and I agree. We get into everyones bussiness, and that's why many countries hate us.
Not the mention the fact that in the Olympics we always win the most medals (which is why I was happy Canada won both Hockey events). A lot of Americans say that Canada sucks, I love Canada. Sometimes I wish I lived there.
A lot of us Americans are being such dickheads, and it makes me ashamed.
@christmaszorro Your being hateful to Canada. You are the kinda people I hate.
Worst closing ceremony is Olympic history!!!!!!! It was so boring and extremely disorganized. Painful to watch. Most of those "Canadian" hosts and hostess no longer live in Canada and haven't for a long time ... most of them live in the US and are US citizens!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your actually such the biggest dick, u and all of the USA, you have no respect, your animals are just so jealous that canada got the olympics instead of 3rd world USA.
How was it disorganized? The thing was exactly 2 hours, there was NO, i repeat NO wat so ever, disorganization by any means. The signger are Canadian, weather you like it or not, the singers are by blood CANADIAN, not Amercian.
I enjoyed the games, and so has everyone else besides some Americans, you guys r dicks no one like u
@team1200 3rd world USA? Ok so I'm already aware of what education level I'm working with here....I don't know if the ceremony was disorganized but it was quite boring and weird...I even have canadian friends that called me up after it because they felt it was tasteless and snobby and gave canadians a bad name. I actaully had to agree but I felt guilty thinking that until a canadian themselves came out to say it
@team1200 @team1200 it's also got a GDP of 14.2 Trillion of course we are going to have higher debt then other countries...we make more...that by no means makes us a third world country.
@team1200 yes apperently a 14.2 trillion dollar GDP makes us a 3rd world country...seriously pull out a economics books sometime. Besides that wasn't the main conversation I notice you didn't even respond to that part
@Kartracer6: I don't know how this argument started, but here's my say. No you are nowhere near being a so called 3rd world nation. That said, your debt is staggering and could pose some serious problems if no dealt with soon. Also, you have to find a way to reduce the growing disparity between the wealthy and poor in your nation. If you look at stats you will see that your middle class is quickly shrinking, as this gap widens. Lastly, congrats on your insane number of overall medals!
@theWall0719 Yes I'll agree with a huge number of those statements. Most nations are in a cyclical economy right not and the US and UK and parts of europe are probably getting hit the worst. I think one of the biggest things this nation probably needs to do to stop the inflation and economy is do nothing. because in past years doing something helped then but only made it worse later. But fun olympics. Great job Canada on the Hockey games heck of a game
@team1200 And from what I watched the jokes weren't even funny and they made comments like "canada likes to say sorry...but we don't mean it"--wonder if this was refering to the womens hockey incident. They had other weird stuff like peeing other countries names in the snow...it was just really snobby and this is coming from a canadian
I read something about a band called Inward Eye that lead that chant/song of "oh oh oh, Vancouver." I really want to find that song but can't find it anywhere either!
To all of our Guests who came from different countries around the world to attend the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games: THANK YOU! To all of our other Guests that "came" by television, radio, the internet, and all other media: THANK YOU! On behalf of my fellow Canadians, please come back to visit us, not just only at Olympic events, but at anytime; you are always welcome here! Au Revoir, Farewell, and have a safe trip home. P.S. Thanks for putting up with our "Hockey Crazy" attitude too. ;o)
Yeah that hockey crazy shit was a bit much to put up with... especially for an American who had no clue the animosity you people harbo(u)r towards us. (And you do)
But... I loved this last couple weeks so much, and I love Vancouver and will be returning as soon as I can. I can't tell you how good it felt to be there
This is even better than the ones that I saw last night on TV. NBC showed the fireworks from the stadium during the closing ceremony, but WTF??? No fireworks from the other side. What a bummer! NBC needs to shut up about this interrupting and all of this crap! It's over! Get over it! Wait until 2012 when it comes to London.
I wish there were more closing ceremony vids, I loved the Neil Diamond closing song, wish i could find a vid of that. Truelly and end to an epic event.
The licence holders are strongly 'upholding' their Copyright, l agree it's a shame, now that's it's over, be great to see all that curling l missed out on. "Kevin, the legend of curling from Canada, what a genius". But l didn't see any handball, shame.
best olympics ever
