Colin was so cute! he is a handsome man now, but back then he was, so young and i like his voice. it has def gotten deeper but it is an iconic voice! love this film.

Thank you for posting this brilliant movie! Yes, it is about England and being gay, and communism... To me, this is about two alive people and a background of moving figures. This is about living your life no matter what.

I love Colin Firth but now I am split between him and Rupert Everett now..LOL These two make an excellent pair in all their movies - I was laughing at some of their dialogs here!

@M322233 - The film has loads of different meanings. That what I love about it. For me, it's about the loss of innocence and the profound effect that your early education can have on you. Guy realises what life is really like- that his society will never accept him. Therefore he turns to Communism as an attack on the rigid system of his country.

it is haunting. as is the whole movie. masterpiece!
