I understand why this Introversion didn't made it.
It already answered way too much Questions. New Players just would already ask themselves in the first minutes WHEN they have to face the Nomads and not being surprised when the main antagonist is finally revealed.
But its nice to see how the original cut was intended and answer some continuing errors withing the final-cut.
Exactly. The discovery of real antagonists of FL is epic plot twist, i still remember how i as a child played the game and in the Tekagi's Arch cutscene, I was like "=O, FUCKIN ALIENS!!!". This intro would ruin this all. But when you played trough the game this intro is great.
Aliens are the only thing I hate about Freelancer, both gameplay and story wise. It would have been birillion times more awesome if it was Coalition instead of aliens. Think about it, instead of finding space jellyfish you find Coalition ships with guns as large as your ship :P
@istemidr you don't have to go with the story in either Discovery mod(expansion on the houses + new house,GALLIA French colonists) or Crossfire(expansion for the nomads but you get the Coalition,aliens betting the cr*p out of them)
This version of a system-wide annihilation of a star and planets, is still something that surpasses most intros and cutscenes today. Seriously, watching Jupiter boil away is nothing short of magnificence. The shockwave even howls uncannily, as if being alive.
I love it. They should have kept this version as the final intro with only a few modifications. Keeping the original music, without the Predator theme at the end and possibly not divulging as much of the Nomads.
Das Video wurde geschnitten damit der Spieler nich zu früh in die Story mit den Nomaden in "berührung" kommt.
Die Orginalen Videos wurden anschließend als Bonus behandelt.
Das Video hier gab es im Internet, die neuer Verion hiervon sowie ein anderes Intro das zeigt wie das Artefakt geklaut wird gab es auf der Freelancer Bonus DVD.
Für die letzten beiden guckt in mein Chan nach Orginal Intro und restored Intro :)
the music is (at least in parts) from alien 2 isn't it?
