Well this is what i found... The 45 colt is a pussy cat fely like a 38 special. Now here's the surprise i believe there is more kick with the 454 than the 460 check out the video i just put up it shows this.

My .454 has far more recoil than the .460 that I shot. I use a 320 grain bullet in the 454 and the factory .460 is only a 225 grain. Both loads are similar in speed, the 460 being about 300 fps faster.

Pushing the extra weight down the barrel is where the recoil comes from.

@GT03235 The first time I fired my all three through my S&W XVR, I had the same perception. .45LC was boring, the .454 felt huge, and the .460 seemed almost a disappointment after the .454. After shooting a hundred or so rounds of .460 through it, going back to the .454 seems much less harsh than I originally remembered.

just wonderin, as one whos shot the .454 were the first two .45 long colts cuz the recoil looked simalar when i shot them. never shot the 460 but am assuming the recoil is more if not a little more than the .454,

beastly, i wouldn't wanna catch one of those ANYWHERE , even if i had a trauma plated and kevlar, it would knock me on my ass and leave a fucked up bruise!
