I first remember hearing this over the radio in the 1950's as a child. I was fascinated by it. It made what could have been a mundane task seem like fun. Later whenever I was trying to learn to type, or actually typing that theme would come into my head.
No, just the rhythm. You can use any letters you like; and playing it like a two-finger typist (i.e. using 1st finger on each hand) works. You just have to be careful to avoid the keys jamming!
