I usually remember my dreams and I write them down in my dream journal every morning. I should better use an audio recorder, 'cause what I do is: when I wake up, I write some key words on my hand, so when I'm fully awake, I can look at them and instantly remember what the whole dream was about. I do love mentioning small details, 'cause after a while those dreams are a lot more interesting to read and they inspire me if I'm out of ideas for school (art academy). I have 2.5 finished journals.
I don't generally remember my dreams, but when I do I will usually write them down because I want to use them for fiction writing. I also have the ability to push myself back into sleep to finish out a dream, which can come in handy sometimes...
Last night I had a dream that involved me saving blue Elmo-like aliens that were being used for slave labor in a Craft (like the macaroni) factory. A lot of the time I was on roller skates. Stuff happened.
I've also had dreams of getting into car accidents, even though I've never actually been in one.
sometime ago i had a dream where my cousin, my sisters and i stole a car and were speeding down bayshore. and then a cop got up on us and instead of stopping we started driving at some 120 mph and after an extremley climatic chase scene we ended up in a canal. then i woke up
Then one day I was like napping or something and my mom knocked on my door and I ..almost..woke up? I don't know how to explain but I wasn't...like..myself, and I was talking really fast and not making any sense and freaking out for no reason and while I had some conciousness I couldn't control it, and once I remember going to sleep and all of a sudden my bedroom fan sounded SOOO loud to me and for some reason I thought it was going to explode and I made my sister take it out of my room..
I remember once, maybe when I was 10 or late 9 years old I had this reoccuring dream where I was in this large space and either walls would close in on me slowly, walls with spikes...or like this sorta bomb would go off and destroy everything.. and when i regained conciousness I awoke standing outside my mom's bedroom door, I run there during the droom I think. And I had this dream for weeks..every night..X_x.. like ugh, it was terrible, I was soo frightened.
In one of my dreams i was being chased by scream, and when he unmasked hiself it was my teacher. Omigosh that was the scariest dream ever. But that was in 06.
"Seeing" dreams depends on what part of the night you see them. We have dreams every night, but we only "see" them if the R.E.M. phase (rapid eye movement)is not followed by the "long-sleep" phase, - in other words, if you wake up right after or during the R.E.M. phase.
As for remembering them, I think it depends on our memory. Samm, I remember dreams even from my early childhood (not all of them, but hey, I was 6 years-old 20! years ago). Probably because they affected me a lot.
Also, since you were talking about a videogame related dream (I've only just now ordered Demon's Souls, by the way), I've had some splendid dreams about my two favourites, Mirror's Edge and Realms of the Haunting, haha.
(Disregarding the fact, this video was uploaded over a year ago.) Alas, I haven't been able to recall many dreams lately which I'm inclined to attribute to the stupid worries whirring through my head at the moment. Anyway, what I've observed to a degree is that my dream recall is better when I go to sleep on an empty stomach, like if my last meal has been several hours ago (which is somewhat logical, I guess); also, if I sleep less than usual, say 4 or 5 hours, and if awakening is abrupt.
I only remember my dreams once a month or every two weeks, always in colour. I've never journaled or recorded my dreams. When I was maybe 4-10 I had a reoccurring dream about these two dogs, on was a white chihuahua and another was a dark red bulldog. I'd always get literal 'feelings' from both of them when I would walk into their rooms. The chihuahua was soft and nice and the bulldog felt like hot metal. Weird.
Ah yes, I dream a lot and I do write down specific details that I saw in the dream. Then with those details, I look them up in my dream dictionary to decode the reason why I saw these details. After that, I try to put the puzzle pieces together to form a story out of the dream I just had. It's usually a hard challenge to write about what you saw when most dreams are forgotten the moment you wake up. Sometimes, I understand and remember what I saw almost two days after I had the dream.

I used to have a recurring dream as a kid - it was about a bunch of black dots and white dots trying to push my bed off opposite ends of a cliff.
My dreams are generally either about forgetting to do something important, celebrities, old friends, or some combination thereof. Once I dreamed about seeing an old friend who was apparently possessed by Ol' Dirty Bastard hanging out with Mike Patton - in the dream I saw nothing unusual about that first part and just wanted to meet Mike Patton.
i have a recurring dream that happens a little differently at the start of each but what happens is in the end ill be playing downstairs on my n64 and the lights are off and when i turn it off, i hear this extremly scary robotic sound from the laundry room and run like hell upstairs
Maybe it's been said before (sry for not reading over 100 comments), if one keeps record of dreams, they remember more and more over time. I can speak out of experience here. I had a dream journal a while ago and I did remember way more details about a lot of dreams I had at a night and at times I could almost fill a whole page with one dream alone.
The weird part is that as soon as I stopped, I would only remember a few things again. To the point I'm not even sure I dreamed at all.
I don't dream. Or I don't remember dreams. I'm not sure which one. Considering I have insomnia, though, and rarely sleep more than four to five hours a night, maybe that's not long enough for dreams. Iiii don't know, I don't know enough about dreams, to be honest.
I had a dream once, it was a guessing game among people I knew. The place where it happened was weird. It was an elementary school similar to mine on the outside and a small house on the inside.
I have recurring dreams involving my high school, which I've graduated from, in which it's way bigger than it actually is, with multiple stories and thousands of people. It always involves some really weird shit, like people going insane and throwing others out of windows. Very graphic.
Samm, I just woke up. I had a dream that I was in an aquarium with some friends and we were swimming around with a big shark. It tried to attack us and we freaked out, but then it started talking and walking around on land and dancing with us, and I ended up falling in love with it. That's probably one of the weirdest ones I've ever had.
My reoccurring dream is usually of my friends past. I dream of what it would be like if they were still around (Not dead, just don't see them anymore) and they make me happy, sad, and sometimes scare.
Oh, l never dreamed of it, but l've thought/joked about something like a food printer dozens of times. lt'd let you materialize the food files you have on your HD. Of course they'd have to invent food files to begin with.
l guess it would look like a microwave. ANYWAY
l remember 2 dreams a year or so. They're usually awesome dreams.
I do dream a lot, though I tend to not record them. And if this makes any sense, they tend to have a bleak sort of atmosphere, kinda like in Bioshock, or ToT's The Path, but not necessarily scary or disturbing.
I also dream often of loosing myself in some sort of larger, collective conciousness, though... Well, I guess its also not so scary.
I used to dream of deer, especially white deer, but once I dreamed that the big deer died and I never saw it agian.
but they're always nightmares. i think the last time i had a normal dream i was like 5 or 6? so i've had about 10 years to get used to the dreams, but still after particularly bad ones, i can't sleep afterwords.
i don't write them down because i feel like no one really cares, so why go though all that work, you know?
Younger people tend to dream in color while older people might dream more in black and white because they grew up on black and white television. That's the theory, anyway.
I havn't dreamt for 10 years, only nightmares, horrible vivid nightmares of the past Id rather forget then have to live through every night of my life. Only joking its not every night. Sometimes I just pass out.
I only really remember dreams, like, once in 15 days.and then I only remember them for about an hour. The last dream that I still remember was I was in a hotel and there was a hole and I fell down it. Falling is a recurring event in my dreams that I remember.
I dream a lot sometimes then other times I won't dream at all for ages, or else just forget them. For some reason I've had more than just a few dreams come true but none of them would be really important. One dream for example being me making a cup of tea in a new house, another being me watching a movie with someone. Although I do hope nobody thinks I'm insane by saying this now.
I dream every night and for the most part I remember my dreams. Sometimes, though, I will focus so much on one event of the dream and forget the rest or I'll forget a few minutes after I wake up, but mostly I remember. Most of the time I'll write it down in a journal or post it on my livejournal (username is purple_sammich and I have a dreams tag, if you want to read about some of my dreams).
Also, a lot of my dreams are lucid dreams, which is always awesome.
I dream pretty regularly, and I usually remember what happened, if only for a few minutes after I wake up. A recurring nightmare I have is that it's the end of a semester and it's time for me to take a final exam, but I haven't gone to the class for the entire semester. I usually have this dream during break when there are no classes.
I'm thinking about starting a dream journal to help get me into the habit of writing everyday.
I also dream every night and remember them for at least a little while later... some i still remember from when i was 6 ( i am 18). I didn't realize that this was strange either untill my psychology class... i can also alter my dreams if i realize that i am dreaming, and i am wondering if you can do, or if you have ever done, that?
i dremt that i was in my garage and it was clean and it looked like a living room with garage and a garage door. So i heard yells outside and i opened the doorand a ton of zombies ran in. So then my mom my dad and i freaked and we were all running around and i was really scared, and after a mish mash of stuff that kinda blurred together my parents were zombies now and i was crying and i ran up to my room and called one of my boyfriend and begged for him to save me and then my mom woke me up.
the only dreams i remember are really long complicated ones, that i usually have while i'm really ill or worried. i've only ever written down one dream that i remembered.
I'm in the same boat as you. I remember every night. A couple months ago I started a journal where I not only wrote down my dreams, but wrote a little bit as to why I might have drempt that, and then I draw an image that stood out from the dream.
I wont ramble too much XD but I stopped doing that because I did all of the opposite things that I wanted it to, and it gave me nightmares. =/
I do dream a lot and I don't remember all of them but i guess like 90%. but I have never thought about writing them down so people could read them. but i also have many nightmares and all this stuff. i sometimes can laugh about them when i wake up because they were so stupid so maybe i should start doing that.
I dream, I go through stages where I will remember all of them for about a week and then there will be a lull where I won't remember anything at all. It's all very strange.
sometimes catch glimpses of something that will happen later in the day, im not kidding, not like a major thing but just a regular day-to-day thing
anyway, the only dream thats really STAYED with me for years is one i had when i was 4, basicly we were like outside there was a diner and for some reason the room that i fell asleep in in my house, and basicly i ran around with my best friend being chased by a broom, eventually we hide in the room im asleep in and get...eaten by the broom XD
i actually almost never remember my dreams unless i really really like them. i have one reoccurring that has to with shit about me and my ex gfs and shit like that. My fav dream was probably the one i had about the zombie apocolypse going down on my vacaction in mexico for some fuckin reason.
I do have dreams every night and I do remember them right after waking up but I would forget them very easily if not repeating them to myself or to somebody right away. They usually are pretty much a story, recently I actually had a real lot of dreamed movies - sometimes even with the title appearing and stuff. I have Twittered a couple of them - those, which I found interesting or extra ridiculous - and am considering starting a journal.
I can't remember my dreams because i have insomnia and and have to take 200 mg of diphenhydramine every night. Although one dream I do remember is going to a bar and having sex with leondardo dicaprio, but instead of looking like leonardo he looked like David Bowie.
I do dreams but usually dont remember them when I wake up. If i do remember i tend not to write them down. Ive found lately that i have been having stranger ones after reading "The Sandman" at night.
The dream mostly always has only darkness and then flashs of images like video games that I have played and got stuck on and found the solution in my dreams and I wake up fast and start the before I forget to finish it out. Also have a lot of sex dreams of odd people with no faces or not able to see their faces it creeps me out.
I don't remember my dreams every night, but i remember them very often. The difference between a nightmare and a good dream isn't the content of the dream (what happens, what persons appear in the dream etc.) ... it's the way it feels. I also dream a lot of shit and some of my short stories, songs etc. have some stupid names that appeared in my dreams. Some Examples: Orange or your world (band name), Hantipitants (strong bread ... don't ask) ...
... Huptanke (german for Honking-Gas-Station ... Huptanke is some kind of Punk-Bird) ... Huettenflunder ... a song from a band called Jamaika ... i also wrote some short stories about my dreams ... most events in those stories are part of the dream, just the charakter names are different. I like dreaming, it's one of the best sources for weird ideas and i love weird ideas.
i always remember my dreams and i had smehing that was kinda like a reacouring dream when i was arund 5 years old, and it was every night my dream was i dead at the end everytime and it was lie a tv shw there wuld be somehing at the end with like me floating in the air seeing my mom, dad and brother mourning over my death at my grave but the scary thing is that my tombstone would always change, but i always cried when i woke up not like the super heavy sobing but tears just streamed down.. weird
i rarely remember my dreams well my good dreams i always remember nightmares. i don't wright about my dreams either i mainly when i remember have dreams about my friends in my hometown yeah SO In other words i have nightmares and sad dreams.
Now THIS is interesting. I'm actually interested in dream research because of things like this. I have had dreams previously that (In all seriousness) have accurately predicted the future. I've never had to write about these because, for some reason, I've never forgotten them. In my experience, the dreams that stick most vividly in one's memory tend to correlate to something in your real life. Maybe look at the dreams that you remember in this way from this point of view.
I dream every night too, in colour and I often lucid dream as well. When I was little I remember being very surprised that not everyone did dream in colour or could direct their dreams in some way.
I remember one dream where I was running from Zombies, I realized I was in a dream and ran down an ally and concentrated on summoning guyver armor (from an anime) killed the zombies and flew away XP
i can relate. i've had dreams where i realize almost right away that i'm dreaming, and i try and control it, say by summoning a weapon.
other times though, i don't realize it and think i'm in the real world. i hate those because they turn into stress dreams and i think i've forgotten where everything is. it's like having a mini panick attack while you're sleeping.
Truth? I do have dreams, but I don't often write them down. I think that's a habit I'm going to get into, writing down what I dream about in a dream journal or something like that. Let's hope I have some interesting ones to talk about, haha!
Today, I remember my dreams only once in a while. I remember being terrified as a kid, however, because I almost always had nightmares where I would end up dieing. Some dreams I remember are:
A gorilla chases me through my house and eventually eats my brains while my mother is washing dishes.
The cast of Zoom forces my family to consume baking soda with vinegar.
An evil version of my mother tries to keep me in my dream forever. I shock her to death with my Pikachu.
The best dream I've ever remembered having consisted of me flying around like Superman. It was really liberating, especially considering my intense fear of heights.
I have prolithic dreams, and I stopped caring about writing them down due to that they are going to happen anyway no matter whether or not I write them down or not.
I had a dream last night where for some reason I was at the house of these people who were like the human version of the stitchpunks from 9, and I kept getting set on fire by different things. I even remember my finger looking all eww after being on fire. =/
I only remember the bad dreams most of the time. A dream I have often is a nightmare, either it's me dying in random incidents or one that put me in therapy was me and my friends being raped and murdered, it happened every night for two years. I used to write them down but then I had to stop because recalling them would make me have panic attacks.
I think I had that dream because I've been wanting to write a couple Buffy fanfics but Ive been having issues with them. Help me if you can. Anyway besides that I think the weirdest dream I remember having was a month ago I had a dream I was in a corner and my mom was stabbbing me. Kinda creeped me out. As for writing them down I've only have done it when I was told to but I think I'm going to start doing what you do because I have a twitter account but don't know what to write in it.
I probably dream all the time but I dont remember them alot of the time. Last night though I think I had a Buffy type dream, I think I was either arguing with someome about Buffy or arguing with Buffy. lol...
I don't have dreams and remember them every night, but whenever I dream, I can always remember it in perfect detail. I never journal them, though.
Most nights, I don't dream at all. It depends on how I go to sleep, really. If I good to sleep exhausted, I normally dream. If I don't, I do not dream at all.
Whenever I dream, though, it's normally a 'twisted' reality, featuring myself. And example of a recent one was me in a steampunk world, and I can remember most everyone I met in the dream.
Yes, I dream every night almost and I remember them. I wish I do write them down. Heck I even remember a few dreams I had that was big for me that I had 10 years ago.
I once read a book about dreaming but it wasn't really a book it was a dictionary on dreams and how to read your dreams for instance you said the number of souls was so big you were petrified to look from the info ive seen on you so far i can tell your most likely either conciously or subconciously still afraid of the addiction to gaming or internet
but im probably not 100% right since i dont know you too well reading dreams usually works better on people you know
well no i dnt have a lot of dreames. not every night. maybe just a couple every 3 weeks or so. but when i do have my dreams, i have full control over them and i remember every detail
My history of dreams is pretty weird... I used to dream every night as a child, of various different things, and suddenly after one "nightmare" it all stopped. My nightmare was not vampires, zombies, or whatever, but that everyone I knew had been like kidnapped, and replaced by cardboard figures. When I started dreaming again, it was always of walking to or from high school, it was really realistic, so every morning I used to pinch myself on my journey to school...
I dream I am back in college and its about half way through the semester when it occurs to me that I have a class I have never been to and I know I am about to fail out of school if I cant find where ever the class is held. Id say I have that dream a few times a month for the last 2 years
my dreams are very weird and confusing and random this is recent i had a dream i murdered almost everyone in my school and a while back i had a dream about batman being happy for no aperant reason then manslautering people........im serious...and sometimes my dreams replay themselves and become much longer
I very rarely dream, if I'm lucky it's once a month or so. Though just about every time I do, they are always so realistic and often lucid as well. I'm curious to know if you ever have had a lucid dream or tried to, they can be quite interesting sometimes.
i only remember dreams rarely but everytime i do its a nightmare. Everyone is making fun of me and i feel suicidal but i dont know why and the dream is mostly just me crying feeling bad with things in my head.
Which really scares me because if every dream i remember is like that then maybe every single dream i have is that. Like every night i go to this hell but wake up and dont remember it.
i usaly only have dreams if im thinking right before i fall asleep but some times i have dreams regardless also what i think about is usaly the thing the dream is based around i dont journal them but i rember them if theyre the ones that started when i was thinking but if it a random one i can rember bits and pices of it
I try to keep a dream journal. I don't write in it all the time but usually if i have a dream that I really remember I'll write that down. I don't really have a recurring dream but i have recurring themes in my dream. A lot of times those kind of dreams have something to do with me and a bunch or people that i never met, but apparently know really well in my dream, are running around a maze type thing trying not to get killed by a thing. Its always different though. Its not scary though.
when it comes to dreams im rather weird i think. ill have a dream and ill remember all of it and the next night the dream will CONTINUE from where i woke up! this can go for days or weeks at a time with the same freaking dream kinda feels like im watching or im in a tv show at some points
When I wake up, I remember the dream I had about half the time. I never journal them which is probably the reason I don't remember them better.
A weird/scary one I do remember: My right fore-arm was pretty much decomposing. As if undead. It didn't hurt and I could move it just fine, but the skin was peeling back and you could see the muscles, sinews, and everything. Nobody else seemed to notice.
I dream a lot about videogames, sometimes I'm practicing in them and the next day I'm weirdly better at them, sometimes videogame prophetic dreams that give me hints that actually work. I'm weird like that.
yeah i have dreams that i always remember and i also have reacquiring (i think i spelled that right)
if i would write down every single one i would be able to write a novel i bet and as for the reacquiring dreams they involve werewolves (not twilight crap) grim reapers my grandfather (two real life things that involved him when he was alive and i was a little kid sometimes it feels like the dream is real life for me
I tend not to remember my dreams but know ive had one so its really frustrating!
One i had when i was younger alot was that i was walking down a big castle like staircase and tripped and fell but i just kept falling like the rabbit hole from Alice in Wonderland yet i could see the floor just never reached it. It really scared me when i was little because i was once told that if you hit the floor in a falling dream you would die in real life. Cheerful stuff!
I used to dream all the time, like really weird crazy shit, but for some reason when I started taking an anti-depressant the dreams stopped being easily recalled. I used to write them down all the time too. It saddens me that apparently in order to function I had to trade being able to dream in a way I remember as some of my dreams were down right hysterical. :(
They occur around ones per month and they are mostly horror dreams where they are involving around zombie kind humans. Sometimes they are involving around persons that ive just met or being in loved with.
There are specific dreams that I remember, and some that I don't. Unfortunately, I did have a lot of recurring dreams/nightmares during the summer and I was thinking of logging them but never got around to it. Most of the time though, my dreams are filled with my current crush and a climatic point where something is about to go down, and then I wake up. ;-;
I hardly ever remember dreams. Twice a month at most, it seems. And typically, when I do remember them, it is only for a few minutes after waking up. I wish I would remember them more often, because they are usually pretty cool when I do remember.
i dream, and i can remember most of them. i haven't had a nightmare since i was 7, since i got a dream catcher. the weirdest thing though, when i dream, i can control what i'm doing. if it's a recurring dream, i can change the outcome. i've done it about 4 times now, where i changed this same dream, and each time woke up to something different. a lot of the times though, when i control what i'm doing, i like to fly, so i always find a place so i can have a running start so i can fly around.
@Cainsgames well i know i'm dreaming because when i dream i tend to have a kind of tunnel vision, and every sound is kinda muted, which makes it kinda hard to hear most of the things said in my dreams, which is why when something really loud happens either in the dream or in real life i wake up. also, the colours are kinda muted and sometimes it's like looking through a fog, except without any fog. other times i can see myself outside of my body, which is kinda a big hint that i'm dreaming.
You probably do have dreams, but not everyone can easily remember them. There shouldn't be anything wrong with not remembering them, but you do miss out on some interesting experiences.
This is interesting. I was thinking about my own dreams not too long ago, I was considering trying to remember them and figure out what they mean.
I have had a couple different types of recurring dreams. One involves being in a hybridization of some of the schools I went to, particularly the ones I had the most difficult time at. I suppose it has something to do with wishing I could have done things differently back in those days.
I have a recurring dream (just had it last night actually), where I go out to eat, and I'll get shot at. But then, I'll finish eating (regardless of whether I got shot) and go home. When I get home, I find out my friend is there (different friend every time). Then the same person that shot at me earlier, will shoot at me again, and always winds up killing my friend.
I rarely remember my dreams, so I never really bother to write them down. The ones I do remember usually have me falling in love with someone or a lot of people dying.
I do experience sleep paralysis a lot, though, and I often hallucinate during them as well. One I used to have a lot when I was younger was that there was a robber in my house and that he planned to kill me while I was sleeping.
I really only remember the fucked up ones. Like last night. Zombie apocalypse, everyone still went to school we had to kill zombies with textbooks. Shuester from Glee was there. He asked us to show our skill. I disappointed him. Also, Boomer dressed as butcher dragged people out of our little shelter. Dressed up and acted like zombies and escaped to a mall. Yeah weird.
I also had these "out of body" dreams, where I actually felt like I was falling, and I would wake up in a start as soon as I hit the ground. The part that really scared the crap out of me was the fact that it felt -real-.
@HeyItsFrance I had somethign like that. I was in a deep water at the bottom and i got out of breath and wen i take a big breath, i did that in real life, and that was time when i realyzed that im dreaming :D
I have strange dreams. I remember a very short and realistic clip from my point of view in a dream, and then forget about it until later in my life when I actually go through that exact clip in reality. I think that this is the first version of time travel to be discovered by humans.
I actually remember dreams for a short period of time. Sometimes, though, I can remember it for years. Like, when I was 10, I had a dream that my mother died in a car crash and the doctors managed to save her nervous system, and put her in a giant jar. I still remember how I felt.
I just recently had a dream where I was playing Devil May Cry and I was fighting Mundus in pitch black and I finally killed him but he came back and kills me it freaked me out.
I only remember a few dreams, but the ones I do remember are usually pretty strange. One time I had a dream that my friend was a pirate with no legs and that I killed him (not sure why o.O) and then felt guilty. Most of the ones I remember end up being some kind of violent nightmare. Have you ever had dreams where you see yourself die? Or lucid dreams?
I don't really remember dreams, I normally have nightmares but don't remember what they were.
Has anyone had sleep paralysis? Where you wake up in the night but you CANNOT move a muscle; before I knew what it was I used to freak out so much I thought I was dead (first time it happened, of course), then I would hear a rush get louder and louder - some people feel a crushing sensation on their chest - but yeah that's odd.
I remember my dreams for 12 hours after I wake up, I never write them down, I have a recurring dream that I first dreamed while in pre-school, three trailer houses stacked on top of each other, my family and 2 other families lived in the trailers, one day everyone was outside and I went in the middle one and there was a slice of pizza hanging off the oven which was located in the bathroom, the pizza talked to me and it was scary, I've had it ~4 times
I love to dream/sleep but I don't keep a journal, I tried but I'm just too lazy, I have a few dreams written down but in such a vague way they don't make that much sense without the whole context.
The only reoccuring dreams I have seem to involve me stuck on top of a very wobbley tower/skyscraper and it's swaying back and forth like a ship, I'm usually terrified that I'll fall down off the building.
I also have a nasty habit of getting shot (at) in my dreams and breathing underwater is fun.
you have that too? I dream bu tthen again i dont remember it i just know that i woke up or dream that the world is back in th e1990's for some reason i think it's a nostalgia thing.
It's really weird and rare for me to have one but the weird thing is that I usually have/remember having dreams when I have a girlfriend. And what's REALLY weird is that if I'm like becoming close friends with someone and start having dreams, within a week I ask her or she ask me to go out with them and close to the time I start to stop havin dreams we would get into a huge fight or break up because of my religion i think they are like little clairvoyance things b/c 90% of the time they are true
I only have reoccuring dreams and they usually appear when I have a fever. One is with giant, black, round rocks that roll over a very tiny person (like tinkerbell from peter pan) another one involves the hedgehog enemy from the Lion King game(I grew up with that game) another one is about a mansion with a girl and I'm blind in it yet I can see what's happening but that dream got replaced by a dream where everything in existance gets sucked into some sort of blackhole and it freaks me out.
hmmm... I dream 2 times a night, prehaps more, but only remember 2 dreams... one is like a nice, jolly, happy dream and the other one is strange, with people dieing, etc...
I don't post them, but I have been thinking about it, just to see the reatcion and if ppl dream as strange as I do too
Yes, we all do dream. Some of us don't remember them, some of us do. You can actually train yourself to either not remember or remember your dreams. I remember that from psychology at the least.
Personally I trained myself not to remember my dreams, why would I want to remember dreams which caused me to put holes in walls, fight with the bed and etcetera.
Last night, I had a dream in where I found a handbag on the ground. I put my hand into it, and my arm was eaten off. So I jumped into the bag to retrieve it and ended up in a bizarro-world in where everything was of twisted wires and birdcages. Everything reminded me a lot of Castlevania/DMC3 type architecture. I ended up fighting an evil version of my mother who had electricity for eyes and floated about shrieking "AUGEN BLAU" (Blue Eyes). I fought her with a Globe on a stick with a spike.
I have weird dreams, but I only remember them if they involve someone that I would talk to ABOUT weird dreams. Other than that they usually fade away, unless I make an effort to remember them.
I don't tend to remember my dreams. I know I have them, and have a general feeling of what it was about.
One I do remember is a reoccuring fream - walking between 2 huge Ayer's rock like structures on a rope bridge. When I get half way out, my foot goes through the plank below and I wake up. And my foot moves as I stop down as well.

The imposter was always noticeably different.

Sarkoh 2 years ago

So then my mom my dad and i freaked and we were all running around and i was really scared, and after a mish mash of stuff that kinda blurred together my parents were zombies now and i was crying and i ran up to my room and called one of my boyfriend and begged for him to save me and then my mom woke me up.

I do have dreams every night and I do remember them right after waking up but I would forget them very easily if not repeating them to myself or to somebody right away. I have Twittered a couple of them - those, which I found interesting or extra ridiculous - and am considering starting a journal.

I like dreaming, it's one of the best sources for weird ideas and i love weird ideas.

Maybe look at the dreams that you remember in this way from this point of view.

i can relate. i've had dreams where i realize almost right away that i'm dreaming, and i try and control it, say by summoning a weapon.
other times though, i don't realize it and think i'm in the real world. i hate those because they turn into stress dreams and i think i've forgotten where everything is. it's like having a mini panick attack while you're sleeping.

A lot of times those kind of dreams have something to do with me and a bunch or people that i never met, but apparently know really well in my dream, are running around a maze type thing trying not to get killed by a thing. Its always different though. Its not scary though.

Unfortunately, I did have a lot of recurring dreams/nightmares during the summer and I was thinking of logging them but never got around to it. i dream, and i can remember most of them. i haven't had a nightmare since i was 7, since i got a dream catcher. the weirdest thing though, when i dream, i can control what i'm doing. if it's a recurring dream, i can change the outcome. i've done it about 4 times now, where i changed this same dream, and each time woke up to something different. a lot of the times though, when i control what i'm doing, i like to fly, so i always find a place so i can have a running start so i can fly around.

@eyesofviolet Wow interesting, when you dream, how do you know that youre dreaming?
Cainsgames 2 years ago
@Cainsgames well i know i'm dreaming because when i dream i tend to have a kind of tunnel vision, and every sound is kinda muted, which makes it kinda hard to hear most of the things said in my dreams, which is why when something really loud happens either in the dream or in real life i wake up. also, the colours are kinda muted and sometimes it's like looking through a fog, except without any fog. other times i can see myself outside of my body, which is kinda a big hint that i'm dreaming.

You probably do have dreams, but not everyone can easily remember them. There shouldn't be anything wrong with not remembering them, but you do miss out on some interesting experiences.
heyguys321 2 years ago
This is interesting. I was thinking about my own dreams not too long ago, I was considering trying to remember them and figure out what they mean.
I have had a couple different types of recurring dreams. One involves being in a hybridization of some of the schools I went to, particularly the ones I had the most difficult time at. I suppose it has something to do with wishing I could have done things differently back in those days.
heyguys321 2 years ago
I'd say I remember dreams anywhere from 25 to 50 percent of the time, other times it feels as if I go to sleep, and 5 seconds later I wake up.
SimularMine 2 years ago
I have a recurring dream (just had it last night actually), where I go out to eat, and I'll get shot at. But then, I'll finish eating (regardless of whether I got shot) and go home. When I get home, I find out my friend is there (different friend every time). Then the same person that shot at me earlier, will shoot at me again, and always winds up killing my friend.

I rarely remember my dreams, so I never really bother to write them down. The ones I do remember usually have me falling in love with someone or a lot of people dying.
I do experience sleep paralysis a lot, though, and I often hallucinate during them as well. One I used to have a lot when I was younger was that there was a robber in my house and that he planned to kill me while I was sleeping.

everyone dreams but not everyone remembers their dream

I really only remember the fucked up ones. Like last night. Zombie apocalypse, everyone still went to school we had to kill zombies with textbooks. Shuester from Glee was there. He asked us to show our skill. I disappointed him. Also, Boomer dressed as butcher dragged people out of our little shelter. Dressed up and acted like zombies and escaped to a mall. Yeah weird.

yeah I have dreams every night that I remember.

I also had these "out of body" dreams, where I actually felt like I was falling, and I would wake up in a start as soon as I hit the ground. The part that really scared the crap out of me was the fact that it felt -real-.
HeyItsFrance 2 years ago
@HeyItsFrance I had somethign like that. I was in a deep water at the bottom and i got out of breath and wen i take a big breath, i did that in real life, and that was time when i realyzed that im dreaming :D
Cainsgames 2 years ago
i sometimes have those. But it only happen's as im drifting off, also my body alway's spasm's when i hit the floor

I have strange dreams. I remember a very short and realistic clip from my point of view in a dream, and then forget about it until later in my life when I actually go through that exact clip in reality. I think that this is the first version of time travel to be discovered by humans.
Fluffybutt9 2 years ago
I actually remember dreams for a short period of time. Sometimes, though, I can remember it for years. Like, when I was 10, I had a dream that my mother died in a car crash and the doctors managed to save her nervous system, and put her in a giant jar. I still remember how I felt.
HeyItsFrance 2 years ago
I just recently had a dream where I was playing Devil May Cry and I was fighting Mundus in pitch black and I finally killed him but he came back and kills me it freaked me out.
evilmonkey152 2 years ago
I almost never remember my dreams. It bums me out too because I'm sure they'd be pretty fucked up.
NixonRichardNixon 2 years ago
I only remember a few dreams, but the ones I do remember are usually pretty strange. One time I had a dream that my friend was a pirate with no legs and that I killed him (not sure why o.O) and then felt guilty. Most of the ones I remember end up being some kind of violent nightmare. Have you ever had dreams where you see yourself die? Or lucid dreams?
AlphaKlams 2 years ago
I've definitely died in dreams, but I've never had a lucid dream. I'm kind of glad cuz if I did I'd wanna do it every night.

One time I had a dream where I was Han Solo and I was escaping from a prison/military compound. Yeah.

Sigh, would like to have another 'flying' dream.

no but I would shit myself if I did :(

I remember my dreams for 12 hours after I wake up, I never write them down, I have a recurring dream that I first dreamed while in pre-school, three trailer houses stacked on top of each other, my family and 2 other families lived in the trailers, one day everyone was outside and I went in the middle one and there was a slice of pizza hanging off the oven which was located in the bathroom, the pizza talked to me and it was scary, I've had it ~4 times
BeatenAndMauled 2 years ago
I love to dream/sleep but I don't keep a journal, I tried but I'm just too lazy, I have a few dreams written down but in such a vague way they don't make that much sense without the whole context.
The only reoccuring dreams I have seem to involve me stuck on top of a very wobbley tower/skyscraper and it's swaying back and forth like a ship, I'm usually terrified that I'll fall down off the building.
I also have a nasty habit of getting shot (at) in my dreams and breathing underwater is fun.
papervampire 2 years ago
Over the years I have been able to recognize when i'm dreaming. I've never had reoccuring dreams though.
Also, P2P Pizza? That can't be too healthy, considering how many hands it must have gone through I:

you have that too?

DevinTheArtist 2 years ago

I don't post them, but I have been thinking about it, just to see the reatcion and if ppl dream as strange as I do too
faydell 2 years ago
Yes, we all do dream. Some of us don't remember them, some of us do. You can actually train yourself to either not remember or remember your dreams. I remember that from psychology at the least.
Personally I trained myself not to remember my dreams, why would I want to remember dreams which caused me to put holes in walls, fight with the bed and etcetera.
Also Tag mistake? :p.

A bit. Sometimes I remember the whole thing, but usually just a tiny bit.
I with I deamt all the time; it means you pretty much get 2 times the mileage out of life lol.
I don't write about them. Might start though...

yeah, but it also means you don't feel as rested after sleep, in my experience.

I have weird dreams, but I only remember them if they involve someone that I would talk to ABOUT weird dreams. Other than that they usually fade away, unless I make an effort to remember them.

I go to bed and then i wake up. never ever dream. :(

I haven't had that for a while.
