  • Sorry to hear that mate.

    Anthony

  • @anthonylaing Aye, a bit of a pain in the hoop ... she's 1 week past an op to remove one that was retained in her oviduct.

  • @Fuggit How did you know she has a retained one?

Well I hope she recoveres fine! Better luck next year ey! :)

  • @anthonylaing - I could feel the bump of it through gentle massage in the area. An X-ray confirmed it. Happily, although it had started to calcify, it hadn't bonded with any tissues or gotten septic. Fingers crossed, my vet said she should still be able to breed successfully in the future :)

  • @Fuggit Good good!

Do you have insurance on your snakes?

  • @anthonylaing - Nope ... 11 policies would be stupidly expensive. I make myself a little emergency fund every so often .... but I'm also quite lucky that my vet accepts payment plans (not many do in this area).

  • @Fuggit I thought you could get a policy for all (i.e. 1-10,10-50,50+) payment plans are ideal!

  • @anthonylaing - Think it just depends where you go I suppose. In 15 years of keeping I've only needed vet attention four times. The general concensus I've seen is that your better off if you can put an emergency fund together - less hassle all round. E.g. - a lot of policies have exclusions (including egg-binding).

  • @Fuggit Yeah, well in the last 4 years of keeping, I've never had a problem, however I've not had many.

I should start a fund soon then! Thanks

  • Love the music. :)
