@AceNinja2112 the man was a trainer his name is Steve. He was attacked by Ky the killer whale. He was able to calm the whale down and still got in the water with Ky many more times after the attack. I believe this happened in 2004
I was actually in the stands during this incident in Texas. The man was not a trainer, but somebody in the audience who had jumped into the tank. It is believed that that he was seeking sexual gratification with the killer whale, as he is the author of the book "Wet Goddess." The whale is responding in self-defense, as it does not want to be sexually assaulted....
this was not the trainer from florida and in this particular incident this trainer did not die....there is another video of this exact same thing only longer that should show up on the side bar --->....it clearly shows him calming the whale down and their both fine after

As previously stated, this is not footage of the Tilikum attack. The death of Dawn was due to her being pulled underwater; her ponytail being stuck in the whale's mouth. The reasons behind this can not be determined, however, the death was by drowning. In this instance, if you watch the full length video of the attack, the trainer eventually calms the whale.

Tranquilizers and/or guns won't do anything to stop an animal of that size. It would cause more harm than good by only enraging, if not scaring the animal. Then'll you'll have the thing going crazy, bloodying up the pool. At the same time, you won't be able to find that trainer you accidentally shot trying to stop the damn orca.

kaybug43812 Yea he did survive. I saw the full clip from a different poster by a guy who was actually there. This trainer got the whale under control somehow but had to remain in the tank because the whale wouldn't let him leave. They cut about 12 seconds or so at the end where the guy is hugging and patting the side of the whale and it's just kind of floating still and calm.
