  • ya nice job but you didnt help anyone with actually doing this!

  • Is there a way that you can turn the 3d shape back to a 2d one? (even after you saved it as a 3d shape)

  • @FutileFreak If you turn a layer into a 3D shape, you will see under that layer a few sub-headings. Those are the 3D textures that go into making the 3D object. Just double click and you will have it back. The only way you can get it back to a 2D shape after rendering out the 3D shape is to Undo.

  • it's cs5

  • @BrianKyle123654 This is CS4.

  • burk

  • @Djazeiry durk?

  • @chrisybwell ahh you alive thiank god, please how you've created the donnuts in photoshop please xD ?

  • @Djazeiry I just make an image that sort of looked like a donut and then I went to the 3D menu, new shape from layer, donut.

  • @chrisybwell i tried before but i'v got a problm with the hole in center wasn't empty

  • why does it say tutorial dickweed

  • can i work with 3Ds Max?

  • @serel69do Yes

  • does this only work on cs4?

  • cs4 extended

  • Hey! I want to creat a pyramid but I don'y know how 'cause I'm beginner... Would you like to help me? Please :)

  • Start a new document, go to the 3D menu up at the top, then new shape from layer and select pyramid =D

Down in the bottom right hand corner you should see the 3D layer (it should be the only one there). You should seem stuff like bottom_material etc, double click each one of these to colour each face of the pyramid seperately. Of course you can just paint on the 3D object if you want by using all of regular 2D tools just the same as you would when doing 2D work. =D

  • What? I understoo till the part of select pyramid...

How do I change its colors?

How do I change its size?

When I click on the tools from the left bar I cant do anything... I don't know why :s

  • I'll try and upload a video for you soon, maybe on friday/saturday. Stick around until then, I'll contact you when it is up.

  • Would you do that for me? Wow

You do have free time don't you?

Thanks! I'm glad you take your time just to teach me :D

  • Yessum, I've did it once before. Your very polite and I would be glad to help out. Plus the kinds of things in the video might help a few other people out as well.

  • Ok I have subscripted to your channel. What I want to do is a Logo... A 3D pyramid which has a real texture, not a soft texture... You know, I want the pyramid looks real with all its blocks. And a pyramid-like color lol

    Thanks again! :D

  • Thanks, I will give it a shot making a pyramid, the thing is Photoshop only has a few pre-set shapes. I guess its not really for creating the shapes, for that there is a whole wide selection of programs (check out blender).

What you want to do can be done in 2D. The 3D feature is more for texturing objects for games. As a matter of fact, I made quite a few pyramids in a night desert about 2 years ago. Anyway, I'll include the rest of it on the video. Running out of characters =(

  • Ok, let see what you can do. I'll be waiting.

  • Onomnomnomnomnomnomnonm

  • search

    "Freephotoshopcs4" to get cs4 free

  • wht that in photoshop ?

  • That is the 3D tools in Photoshop CS4 Extended.

  • what about only cs4

    cuz i have it

  • how sad, the soda can can't be opened

  • ===(

  • How do you make it 3D I can't for some reason.. Can you show me how?

  • i think Homer is like this vid

  • Indeed so lol

A lot of people have drueled over the donut so I wouldn't be surprised if he did too.

  • Yeah! LOL

  • we want to know how to make one like it, we want to learn, not to watch what you have done

  • I showed how to do it all in my 3D capabilities video. This is a reel of what I have done.

  • Do you, or anybody else for that matter, have any idea why the 3D options menu on my CS4 isn't applyable? I mean i gett the rollout meny out but then all the options are like faded, so I can't use em? thanks

  • how do you do the soda can?

  • 3D>New shape from layer>Soda Can

I had a coca cola label as my layer before I begun.

  • but you didnt show us how to do it

  • Its only a demo of what CS4 can do. You can find out how to create 3D shapes in my other video entitled "Adobe Photoshop CS4: 3D Capabilities"

  • pretty tight

  • I am an artist I recently started to play around with photo shop how can i get a planet or sphere to rotate? thanks!

  • It is only available in CS3 and above as I told you in your other comment. Unfortunately, CS2 was before any 3D features had been added.

    Sorry about that.

  • cool stuff :)

  • very cool :)

I want to see more on new features :]

  • Thanks, I am hoping to make a lot more than my first 6 to snap up high rankings in the search results and get more views ;)

  • Get a faster computer. Its hard to follow when its so jumpy.

  • Otherwise....niiiiiice.

  • I have limited my memory in my preferences so Photoshop doesn't hog it all. All I need to do is see it going the direction, smooth motion isn't worth all my RAM.

But maybe when I get a new computer in December I will let Photoshop make the most of it.

  • That's gross (in a good way)

  • Glad you liked it. My video: Adobe Photoshop CS4: 3D Capabilities shows you lots of things you can do to these 3D objects eg. painting using brushes, dodge, smudge on the 3D object.

  • Please leave your thoughts on the 3D models here.
