I understand what you are saying, but I think he would've done this same video regardless of the race of the actress. And I don't see anything implying her race is inferior. HE collapses on the ground, so if anything SHE would be superior to him. And I think generalizing that all whites hold the opinion that they are superior is more racist than this video which happens to have a TALENTED minority. Just because she's a minority doesn't mean there's some secret meaning.

I love the camera work in his videos. I think this video is about hi m dying and he goes to see his girlfriend to tell her through his spirit that's he's okay. Even though he has passed, she'll always be strong and hopeful. Love this song!!

I've heard the song so many times now, and there is no "There is a light"
Try listen to the song without singing.
The ending on the word light isn't there. the "t" have been cut out.

@JoachimHStenvold The "t" is a little bit of, though, it may give the impression of Lie, but he is there, very subtle. But I don't think it's worth arguing about, the song it's beautiful no mather the words. Here we agree, right? : )

When I read your comment, I could hear what you were talking about and I do agree that it sometimes sounds like lie instead of light but, if you read or listen to the other lyrics, light is the one that makes sense with the rest of the lyrics in my opinion. But that's just me and I agree with @Chakaling that it is beautiful regardless! :)

I love the camera work in his videos. "Nothing Left To Lose" song and video got me out of bed and a deep couple month long depression and off on a great road trip one late fall before the amusement parks closed. He's so charming… But since I'm a guy I don't like how they always hinge the video with some stock pretty girl. Even if I wasn't gay I think that would bore me. "Count on me" off his latest album needs a video now. Good stuff!

Actually the lady's name is Q'orianka Kilcher. She is a wonderful actress and has been in films such as "The New World" and "Princess Kaiulani" and has scored roles in TV shows such as "The Sons of Anarchy" and "Madison Heights".
