they are still really expensive for what they really are, plus i don't think you can upgrade the motherboard as it is so small and to fit that kind of case, plus i bet a replacement power supply is a hefty sum also, £699 starting price with an i3... i would stick with a standard size desktop TBH.

@wozzy2008 It has already been said by alienware, that everything is upgradable right down to the mobo, so the motherboard is indeed upgradable. People are forgetting that this thing may look like a console, but it is not a console at all, it is still a full blown pc in a small form case.

@EvilCardboard Opening up and upgrading a macbook air voids warrenty, while as alienware you can open it up and not void your warrenty, so when you notice that 1g gpu starts to fail and you have a better part to replace your graphics card, you can't upgrade, but you have to give it to the sellers for repairs, which is a waste of time. Also, Building an alienware is way better, It can tri-boot Linux, Mac, and Windows and still be as fast as mac products.

They also use the strategy of Appearance over performance (Which apple do too, the iMac is a non-portable laptop because it has mobile CPU&GPU). @SequeStyle The quality is something like apple's, say that its good, but actually horrible. Foxconn (Spelling) provide most of things for apple (And possibly Alienware) and the factory has horrible working conditions. I expect this computer is gonna be as overpriced like most of alienware's products. Their strategy is Stuff a great CPU in there but stuff a horrible GPU in there, the 550Ti is minimum for a gaming Rig.

@MrFel99 Its a good strategy because modern games are optimized horribly for GPU use, so good video cards are essentially a waste of power. Having a good CPU is required for just about any game these days.
