I actually prefer this over pokeremixstudios remix. Primal Dialga wasn't a happy or willful fight. It was one of hesitation and regret. This keeps the feelings of sadness that PRS didn't keep, I liked his but his was a little too cheerful for me. Also I think you did alot more work on yours than simply making it orchestral and leaving it. Great job! :D
lol yeah, I really should be making more. I've got about 5 that I've started but they haven't really gotten any further for a while. I'm kinda lazy. ; )
There are a few Pokemon songs on my to-do list as well. If you like I can tell you when I've done them.
Thanks PRS! =D (Nice to see a new mix from you too)
Pretty cool. If you listen to orchestral game scores tho, you'll find that they use a lot of different instruments. The flute you use for a lead could change into an oboe, a clarinet, a trumpet, a shehnai... something else to give it more variation. Using different articulations on the strings and brass would be cool too, sometimes staccato, sometimes pizzicato, sometimes legato... I can hear you used pizzicato in the background under the legatos, but you could vary them more.
Mixing is mid-heavy, and it should be the opposite. You also need to play with reverbs, find something that sounds like it's in a large hall. Read up on reverb on the net, and listen to some modern orchestral vg scores. Also, learn about dynamics, parts of the song where everything is calmer, not just in the writing but the note velocities, the performance as well.
You've done a pretty good job at it, tho. Nice work. Thanks for requesting my feedback too. :D
For example, flute for one phrase, then oboe for another. "Just make it more varied" might say enough.
Mid-heavy has to do with the frequency balance. Orchestral stuff usually sound better when the mid frequencies are a bit softer than the low and high ones.
Not sure what the best way of doing it is, EQ or multiband compressor. Probably best to put it before the reverb in any case, possibly another EQ afterwards. Just... be subtle. :P
I can't find the flipping MIDI anywhere! Link it!

Thanks a lot for the great feedback DrRZ! =D
So you're saying I should use different leads as well as the flute, right? OK, I'll try that out. And I'll play around with the strings too. =)
umm...sorry, but what does mid-heavy mixing mean?

Oh, I thought you were Pokeremixstudio for a second XD
It's good, but the main melody is very much like PRS's version. Though the different things in your version make it stand out from his.
