I hated that guy/girl that would do that. I had one lady in my classes all throughout my major! What's worse, is that she was not only the hand raiser, she was also the "I have an amazing insight" (which is not amazing at all).

Ex. In studying about flatted scales (sad sound scales with droopy notes) from a world music class, she raise her hand and said, "I feel like they flat that note because they are trying to bring heaven down to earth."

What helped me was having a friend in the class- we had hand signals for what we wanted to do to those people. This sounds terrible, but he had a fantasy that he had a pencil behind each ear. Right before they started talking he would stand in front of them, take the pencils from over his ears and jam them through the persons hands, pinning them to the desk, preventing them from raising their hands.

Every time that person spoke, he would make the pencil pinning motions. TERRIBLE, but hilarious
