his cartilage is removed in the tops of his lobes. his lobes aren't stretched as big as they look, it's just a surgery they perform to enlarge the hole.

its not from using weights in fact. .the reason the hole goes up into the cartiolage is that the ear isnt pierced with a pointy object as youd expect, a disk is actually cut out about the size of a small coin, and the cut goes up into the cartilage
