they should have contests to see who can make the best mario auto-level, some rules are that it has to have at least 200 coins where ALL of them are collectd, mario can get powerups, but can not take damage, there must be enemies, lots of them, there has to be a divirsity of enemies in which there has to be at least 5 goombas, yoshi must be involved, and end gate will be timed so that mario will reach it when it's at the top
@nin10doadict SMW has a bit of coding that creates "oscillation" (a pattern of sorts) for Mario's speed. This pattern is universal, and takes place even outside of a level. If the oscillation does not match up correctly, the results of the level will be different.
@Spiderpig2398 If I remember correctly, right at the beginning with the fire balls (podoboos), with the bullet bill at 0:54, and with the bullet bills at 1:02.
@Kaizoman666 i have lunar magic but people use blocks that i cant find...... where can i get them? and i dont know how to change the way mario enters the lvl
@Greenman1147 There are plenty of creative uses for SMW's blocks, but there's also a tool called "BlockTool Super Deluxe" (can be download on smwcentral (dot) com) that allows you to insert your own custom blocks.
As for changing the way Mario starts the level, use slopes or the moving rope blocks ("rope" tilesets only, but the "castle" tilesets also have moving staircases). You can also use custom boost blocks.
Well, either you can use Block Tool to make one, or you can stick to Nintendo's switching line sprite (it's in the Mushroom tileset under "Tileset Specific"). Thats what I used.
The pink/blue on off switches? Set the tileset as Mushroom or Castle, then go to "Extended Objects" and find the on/off switch, then place it in your level. It then automatically interacts with the on/off activated line paths. You can also go to the sprite's "Generator" section for a couple of on/off layer 2 actions.
Line paths: Go to the "Mushroom" FG/BG tileset, open the "add objects" window, go to the "tileset specific" section, and scroll down a little more then half way, and you'll see "On/Off steep [left or right] slope guide line". Just insert that (or if you want more options, use blocktool). Note that one of them is invisible to begin with. Thats because its only visible when the on/off switch is in the 'off' position. The visible block is for the 'on' position.
Uhhhh... In lunar magic, in the spot mentioned above, the block "on/off steep right slope guide line" is there, but when you look at the actual tile, theres nothing (like in my level, if you look at where the line is before I press the switch, thats what it looks like in Lunar Magic).
Could use a darker background and the "Hell" music from Super Meat Boy, but I love the MANY narrow escapes!

How does it only work 60% of the time? Podobo randomness, maybe?

This is the ultimate proof bowser's trap designers can't do anything right.

That stone block doesn't block Mario at 0:39 and 0:42...
Gameboygenius 11 months ago
@Gameboygenius I actually intended that to be passible because I didn't want (major) cutoff on the ropes.
Kaizoman666 11 months ago
how did you make this?
Greenman1147 1 year ago
@Greenman1147 Well, if you've never heard of it, I used Lunar Magic.
If you have heard of it, I used lots and lots of testing.

how do you work with the on/off switches in lunar magic?

Well, either you can use Block Tool to make one, or you can stick to Nintendo's switching line sprite (it's in the Mushroom tileset under "Tileset Specific"). Thats what I used.

no, I am talking about nintendo's on/off switches. like in some of the sky levels.

but how do I create the line paths to interact with?

how many tries did it take to not die?
Ngcdswii 2 years ago
Well, it took me 3 tries (twice killed by a flame, once by a bullet bill). Those two are the only things that can accidentaly kill you.
