gearmanndude's demos are well done and have saved me some purchasing pain and grief. I just bought a Barber Dirty Bomb today and I really like the high gain wailing tones I can get out of this pedal. I also like that this pedal doesn't sound overly fuzzy or hissy to me, and that it's pretty clean on the attack for a distortion pedal. Thanks for the accurate demo GMD!

Barber and Wampler RULE,

Price is actually $130 these days, great box, Barber's highest gain pedal. He has the best ODs for the bucks. Wampler is a distortion metal fest. The Pinacle and the Triple Wreck have no comparision both ar elike $200-230 which is not cheap. I am sure the idiots who think this is JB cannot afford them.

It has tube characteristic that sounds pretty good to me. I put it on my Crate GFX -212 and the tube sound really came out. Oh and my amp was set clean and lame, so I could get a true feel for it. Thanks GMD, you helped me decide to buy this pedal after watching your video.....Rock on brother.....

Check out the Devi Ever products. Most are fuzzes, so I'm not sure if that will suit you, but great stuff anyway. (Check out the Hyperion. )

thats definitely a good point, most em are using overdrives; hell Jerry Cantrell and Zakk Wylde are using mostly overdrives (jerry has the handwired ts808 and zakk uses his sig MXR overdrive). But, there are still plenty of fellas out there with MT2s and DS1s and the like. I know doug aldrich has a high gain pedal he loves, the name slips me right now.

I don't know anyone "pro" with MT2s, and I don't know anyone using an unmodified DS-1. They're both pretty crap circuits.

The HW is a joke, I agree..350 for a fuckin pedal thats pretty one sided. Yeah, not my thing. Its price is not justified, considering its sound.

As for the DS1 and MT2, sure they are bad circuits, but I've owned a ds-1 (unmodded) for 11 years now, never did me wrong. The MT2 I had at one point and it is pretty mid rangey, but I look at my gear as a single unit, a team..so I tweak until everything fits in complete unison. That said, never had an issue with the MT2 either.

some of the tone is from the white coil-y cable, some is in GMD killer amps and some is in his hands of course...

Since the cable is so long it sucks all the nasty high freq out of the signal
