I'm sorry, but this looks like just another run of the mill kids' science show. I was hoping for something a little more in depth (at least give Charles's law some credit and show how the math of the ideal gas law works).
I'm disappointed by the vocabulary she was using. This is definitely directed at children, and I don't think using that terminology is a good thing. What she was saying was all that accurate either.
Next month, Kari Byron will be extolling science as she brings a new one-hour, commercial-free afternoon kids’ show to the Science Channel. A show called Head Rush will be the Science Channel’s contribution to the White House’s STEM initiative to get kids more involved in science and math. The show will premiere at the end of August, just in time for the beginning of school.
well if you checked out the background of this show before your smart comments you would realize that this show has a completely different target audience than Mythbusters etc.
@ForeverItaliaX In all fairness, this doesn't seem to be all that time intensive. Just a bunch of voice overs and a few studio "experiments". Looks like an off season project that doesn't take up too much time.
Luke, you're forgetting that there's a whole BUNCH of children out there for whom both of these are brand new things. Just because YOU'VE seen it multiple times doesn't mean the six year-old down the street has.
@lukenuetzmann he's not assuming. she said it herself that this show was mostly created to get elementary and middle school kids into science and give younger girls a role model to try to even out the male/female ration in the science world.

The people complaining about this show and stuff like vocab, well, the show is directed at 6th graders. Take that into mind.

Thank God, idiot kids these days need a Bill Nye the Science Guy for their times. (Shit I sound old already, and I just graduated college....)

@andrewc513 no I think its just common sense. Media wants to entertain us and not educate us. Sheeple are easier to control.

To the Science Channel... You might want to ask YouTube why an adult commercial about Las Vegas preceded your trailer for a kids show.
Google? Hello. Kids program. I'm sure you could find better matches for advertising content.

Mr. Wizard would be disappointed that the science isn't pushing the kids curiosity enough.
