  • I had to come back and listen to that song again. I liked the movie playing in my head while it played.

  • @timido66 Yeah! Glad you liked the tune... these private press LP are interesting!

  • Living Voices Rock!

  • Great finds Mark!

That how to succeed. Is that with Lily Tomlin?(From Laugh-In Fame).Love those local Lp's you get.Very strange very cool! Sal

  • "Like A Rolling Stone" Wow I just realized what a fantastic voice Dylan has, but even more-so the entire Bob Dylan package... What an incredible artist. Big Brass bed too! :o} Of course that's not to say these folk didn't bring back some great memories! ;o)

    O,

  • Broad Minded! Ha! What a cover! UB40 and The Monkees! You're outside your box with those! Yes, I'm still commenting... I gotta look up you Kate Smith blogs.

  • How to Succeed.... wow, been a long time since I saw that! Oh, man, a UFO on the cover? They knew you couldn't pass that up. Add a time vortex and they coulda charged you $10! And yeah, Forbidden Planet is a classic! Funny how you say you'll never buy another Jan August and then proceed to hold up not one, but two of her LPs. :D That's awesome!

  • @NaturalTwentyFilms Everyone deserves another chance. This is Jan August's last chance! Ha!

  • That's the happiest version of "Eve of Destruction" I've ever heard.

  • YES it was amazing here too! Like Spring! Great box painting! Another Quiet Village! Soundproof! Switched on Bach is a great one to have for the Wendy/Carlos novelty! UB40 was a reggae band. Nice Monkees! Fabulous scores!!

  • ....don't you ever sleep?

  • @paulpellicci Six hours... last night... more or less. I like to nap...

  • George Maharis is the guy from the TV show Route 66. Also, Feranti and T. were famous to me for playing the theme song for Exodus....and thanks for the plug....

  • @paulpellicci Thanks Paul! Route 66. That makes listening to the LP more interesting.

  • Two Tone was so important for me growing up in Thatcher's Britain. Tough times. Not the biggest UB40 fan, they are like Karaoke reggae, I prefer the real deal. Interesting that you were into Two Tone, you must have been one of the few in Kentucky?

  • @EndPenLoony The "form" was obscure, but not completely lost on kids who liked new wave. Most may have been exposed through "white" bands who used the beat. Reggae continues to sell well at record stores around here.

  • UB40 is a form you fill in in the UK to get unemplyment benefit. They are a reggae band from Birmingham UK. Living voices is great, it's almost like they're celebrating the end of world and been positive about it, good on them.

  • @EndPenLoony Thanks! It occurred to me later that the group was some sort of "new wave" 2 Tone band. It's been so long since I was into that. I sold most of those albums years ago. It was cool to find this and will be a fun listen.

  • Love this segment! Think its 1967 "How to Success In Business Without Really Trying" going for around $40 on ebay!!

  • @wholmes $40? Awesome!

  • I can totally hear this version in some weird movie montage.

  • @timido66 I agree!

  • LOL! That version of "Eve of Destruction" was a classic!!

  • Forbidden Planet eh? I'm gonna look that up. I may have seen it but just don't remember the name. Ah, no I haven't seen it, and it's here on youtube so Yay, gonna watch it tonight. Lots of interesting music. a wide variety today. What a sweet rendition of a depressing as hell song. HA!

  • Do you mean 3 fer a dollar? Cuz if ya do that's 33.333repeating cents each. It's the OCD in me.

  • @SlacktiveInAction Yeah! One place I go to... three for a dollar or 50 cents a piece... which would be 2 for a dollar... if you bought 2... life is crazy...

  • Wow, lost GOLD!

  • @saltyshellback You mean that sample record? It turns out to be an obscure LP.

  • @rylandheights Yeah that song was pretty catchy and the album cover was easy on the eyes :-)

  • "Yeah, my blood's so mad feels like coagulatin'

I'm sitting here just contemplatin' " is the best part of that song I'd say.

  • Eve of Destruction couldn't sound happier, could it?

    That was hilarious!

Dean Martin pronounces "Ferrante & Teicher" if you search YT "Ferrante & Teicher Brazilian Sleigh Bells."

  • @BoldRadish Oh man... the entire LP is amazing. I just added a link to the blog with another sample.

  • @BoldRadish Oh man... I listened real hard to Martin... God... I've been mispronouncing the names for so long... I'll never do it right...
