I have that bag and so does my brother. It is light and spacious, but I don't use it because the hip-straps don't fit around my hips right. They go around my stomach instead. Tried adjusting, just couldn't get it right.
i prefer to have a good bottle, especiallly since water is about the heaviest thing you carry, you might as well protect it with a fewgrammes of plastic
DEET is nasty stuff. You should keep that bottle out of your food bag, because those bottle do leak slightly. Plus you be more likely to use it, if it more accessible.
just a thought here. Many gramweenie vids showing what they carry and the weight involved. But I haven't come across the mention of camera and accessories and the weight involved. Not a significant point I'm making but when we weigh sporks and tents stakes isn't camera/camcorder weight worth mentioning? Just a thought. Happy trails.
I'm sure this won't change your mind, but the "Nalgene crisis" is a total crock. Unless you drink about 40 gallons of water a day out of one bottle, for the rest of your life, you're not going to get any appreciable BPA levels in your body.
the price on the nalgene bpa free bottle went up two dollars at sports chalet here in LA. a sales person told me the same story that you just relayed.
yeah i totally agree, i'm a doctoral student and i read about 15 of the research reports that i have access to. every single study showed NO significant results that bpa is absorbed into the body at dangerous levels. and personally i think that as silly as 40 gallons a day sounds i still think it would take way more than that. my two cents. and i'm also very upset that i had to purchase newer bottles when my gf lost 2/3 of mine.
I used some of your designs on a recent trip to the Westfield River in western Mass. The wife and I stayed 2 weeks, used a modified version of your low smut wood burning stove design as well as a variety of alcohol stoves. I give you props in the last video. Peace.
Just writing it down improves your memory. I really like camel back style water I freeze it and add water later and have cold water for a day. Got to have the deet! Great amount of food like it so far. Thanks for the video.
