I have heard this song approximately 500 times working at staples. Many a tear was spilt in Aisle 3, restocking file folders and slowly weaving back and forth. AMEN
The # 1 song the week my sister Lacey was born Oct. 4th 1981. Actually, it was Endless Love by Lionel Richey and Diana Ross...but I hate that song. This was # 1 a week and a half later....one of my faves.
One day i will go to newyork city and rent a vehicle with a good sound and bring along my cd of this song and the manhattan skyline song on saturday night fever album, and play them while coming over some brige that gives me a good and the best veiw. I don't know when this will happen, but i will post it all over the net, you'll see.

ok guys i like some song where a man sings a like that goes something like this: ´´if we could change the point of view´´ thats how i remember it if u know please tell me whats the name of it.
I remember hearing this song as a kid in a 80s on soft rock stations while riding around in the car with my mom. The 80's was such a great decade for music -
when i hear this song i instantly remember on great times that i didnt know back than,i was in Caracas with some just known friend jofran,we were driving thruu streets of caracas in warm night with this song playing on casete in radio,he had some litle and way old corsa and he tried to sing this song but it was obvious that hes spanish accent is killing hem but any way we fealt like gods in those nights ......
this may not be his best song (sailing) or the best during that area but I KNOW for a fact that this is much much better then what is on my 14 year old son"s ipod.
I fail to see how, if I am ever caught between the moon and New York City, that the best that I can do is fall in love. It seems as though the best that I can do is to get myself unstuck. I also fail to see how I could get caught between the moon and New York City in the first place. What am I doing for air? Am I even alive? I think love can wait while I work to answer more pressing questions.
the new Arthur wasnt so bad, russell brand and jennifer garner were great, liza minielliis charater update did not really fit in. still perfer if they would stop remaking stuff though
Sung so effortlessly and with utmost talent and verve...the way music is meant to be. thank you for posting. I heard this song on the way to work this morning and it made SO nostalgic for my teens..way back in the golden 80s
every now and then i'll hear this song on the radio or at various stores, and when i hear the first 14 seconds, my little head perks up and look up as if i'm trying to look for the music and then he starts singing and i just smile and my heart warms up, aaaahhhhh :) thought i'd share with you all :) :)
@mediterraneanqueen I feel the exact same way when I hear his voice! Something about his voice makes you feel that everythings going to be ok. He captures the innocence of the 80's when I was just a kid. :)
One day in the future, we'll also say such nostalgic things.. about Lady Gaga, Just Bieber etc.. because the music then most probably would get even worse than you would imagine, so you'd come to appreciate the craps you're talking about these days by then. So, i say, treasure the present and make the best out of it, you don't know what you will be missing after a decade or more :)
@Doughnuts1994 Speak for yourself. No really, don't group me in with people who will nostalgia over that shitty artist. His lyrics are useless and his singing is just as worthless. I listened to all sorts of music while I was growing up even foreign music. Whether it be Gloomy Sunday by Rezso Seress, or Can't Stop by RHCP, I managed to listen to far greater artists without having to tolerate that garbage. I may not know what I'll miss 10 years from now, but I damn sure know I won't miss that.

I went over the Brooklyn bridge in my convertible back in the day and it wasn't a pleasant experince,it started to piss down and i couldn't get the hood up on top of that there was a traffic jam, So when you are caught between the MOON and NEW YORK CITY remember to stick a brolly in your convertibles boot.
@evilinsydme Nope, ain't fucking kidding you. Some people are stuck on things in the world and I lived for materialstic bs at one point and had all I wanted. Things happened, lost a lot and I could've went back to that life and chose to walk away. It's hard to put a price on peace of mind and I have that now. My life wasn't identical to his but my doing whatever I wanted was but I wasn't a nice guy like Arthur.
@jasonfallon123 Jeff (a very nice guy) indeed cut some tracks for Christopher Cross's debut album, but they ended up using Tommy Taylor's tracks instead. Tommy was the one who toured with Cross as well. However, you are correct in that the Burt Bacharach partnership for this song had Jeff playing on the studio recording. Tommy is the one in the video, though
