What a strong, powerful version of this song. I like it as well as any of the other variants sung by well-known women singers who came before her. In fact, I liked this so well that I put it on a YouTube playlist of mine called "Cool Covers." It comes right after Erasure's cover of Peter Gabriel's "Solsbury Hill," another older song that I like a lot. I just wish that Winehouse had, had the good sense and longevity that Gabriel has had and that she had stayed away from drugs and alcohol.

TheShirelles, CarolKing & Winehouse did excellent versions of this song. TheShirelles,the original performers were a 1960 pop girl group & did an excellent rendition in that style. CarolKing,the songwriter,later recorded it as a great soft ballad. Amy,in her turn,did justice to the song in her own unique style. It's not the style that matters but whether a performer can interpret a song with great finesse & strong passion. Amy more than succeeds & gives the world a great new version of a classic
