  • I remember the angle in Winnipeg for Greg Gagne's absence. In the summer of '85 Gagne & Bockwinkel were feuding and I think it was Resnick just making a mention at the end of summer that Greg was not going to return to the Winnipeg Arena unless he had a match with Bockwinkel and something about proving Bockwinkel's Singapore Sleeper was an illegal choke.

  • Pure Gold !!

  • Mad Dog, Crusher, Baron Von Raschke, Nick Bockwinkle.....best mike skills ever.

  • Thanks for posting! This is a fascinating insight into AWA history.

  • One other note I must add Mad Dog Vachon at this point was only appearing on AWA cards in Winnipeg and not the rest of the AWA territory, he had just been let go from the WWF but for whatever reason Verne Gagne didn't take him back but the promoters in Winnipeg still saw the value of having him on the cards as the Dog was always a big draw in Winnipeg.

  • @DotDotkins i'm a 35 yr old anglo quebecer, subscriber to yr channel, & a big wrestling fan & historian.... first of all, i cannot adequately verbalize my gratitude to you for all the fantastic uploads. pure gold, thank you so much.... verne had a prob with the dog because of his "rebel" ways... i'm sure you're aware of the airplane door story....vachon wasn't a character, that was really him. most p's couldn't handle him, hence the mis-trust. poor dog's been in a wheelchair since 87, hit & run.

  • i grew up in winnipeg...i remember setting up the chairs and front row for thetapings at both norberry and holy cross
