I think this is a great live version. Though I think the vocal falls short - by a lot - of Jagger's straining and paining wailing. But The Stones never performed this song live, so maybe we can say they knew even they would fall short - by a lot - of re-capturing that album version.

Had any of you people talking shit about Phish's version of this album actually been at this festival you would understand the magic of that whole w/e. But the tapes don't lie. It's good shit.

First of all the Stones recording had no "overdubs", the Stones rarely used that technique so you don't even know what the fuck you are talking about. I'm not sure you even know what overdub actually means. Secondly the musicians and vocalists on the original were vastly superior to these. However, Major props for resurrecting one of the greatest albums ever recorded. Go have a bong rip fool.

@IggyM Of course the Stones did a lot of overdubbing on Exile, especially in LA, early 1972. Maybe Happy is one of the least overdubbed Exile tracks.
