Thank you so much for doing this Sendelbach! I never took any pictures, on either deployment, and I wish I did. Being able to go back and watch this movie means a lot to me. My DVD got scratched along time ago, but at least I can grab a copy off youtube, even if they did cut the sound. I still remember the songs.
my brother died in iraq. his battalion was north of mine, we were following his on a highway. once he went got into Ramadi his Convoy was ambushed by a bunch of insurgents. a bullet in the leg wounded him, then in the chest. i didnt hear about it until my brother's friend told me he died behind a Stryker. i was balling my eyes out.
Thats one of the reasons I joined the Marines to make sure our fallen brothers deaths was not in vein and I hope Obama understands what the cost of freedom truly is USMCRDSD 20 January 2009 SEMPER FI !!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is very well produced with an excellent choice of music (I;m afraid of Americans indeed!). I wish you the best of luck on future projects. This was a project that will remain on my mind in the future.
That was the lead-in for the war in Iraq, that's why it's there. This video is not here to discuss the controversy between 9/11 and the war, only to show the story of soldiers.
This a great video, my hubby was in Baumholder for the 03/04 deployment and for the last one 05/06. I'll tell you what... all of you that want to bitch and moan about the war, just be glade there isn't a draft and be a little more grateful there are people that are over there fighting for us, so you all can sit at home and bitch.
The bottom line is, in this world, 5th century people have the ability to do harm to the united states, and 9/11 is proof of this, we are having a war on terror, specifically to these 5th century populations as they r only capable of learning by way of our bullet. and we have many of that for them.
Dude, in every war the enemy has never wanted us on their land, yet we still do it and kick butt. Get over it, like the generations of soldiers before us has. No matter how bad the news depicts the war, good is coming from the us being there. Its just war and the US has been so disconnected from war because of all the smart weapons, but we are going back to the basics. War is hard and tough and always will be.
Kicking ass? You might want to check other news outlets than the piece of trash FoxNews. You lost in Vietnam for the very same reason you will lose in Iraq. You can have all the weapons in the world, but no weapon can change the minds and hearts of people.
Of course these are heroic stories, They are the reason why our country is second to non, and definately better than yours. as you can check in your recent history, its best not to hate u.s. soldier, they are the reason we who we are and you are who you are. enough said
USA invades Iraq and kill thousand of innocent people and still you prepare and watch such video as "heroic" stories. Keep wathing these you "sleeping" people.
The beginning of the video about 9/11 and then Iraq. Please don't be funny.
Yes, that's the question. Of course I know about that 9/11 led up to the war but why? Do you really believe that invading Irag is related to 9/11 or "maybe" petroleum.
I am not mentioning about those people who kiled my Iraqis, you moron. Even they can count on US side, since US caused a chaos in the country. Where is the liberty i IRaq that Bush wanted. Don't get information only from US news.
Again, the video is not there to describe "why", it's only showing a chronological account, I leave "why" up to you, that's why you have a brain to figure things out. This video is not for or against Bush; it's not even about Bush or anything political. It's about SOLDIERS, and what they've done and experienced over there. If you don't like your Iraqis being killed, then go talk with your own people about it, they're the ones doing it, along with the Iranians and Syrians.
There was plenty of chaos in Iraq long before the US showed up; we rid you of your tormenting dictator and you complain. Personally I don't give a shit about the country; I didn't make the decision to go there or to stay there. The Middle East has been involved in nearly non-stop war and killing for centuries, pick up a history book if you don't believe me.
And no, I don't get my information from the US news; I get it from personal experience. See, I was there with YOUR people for a year and a half, from the beginning in 2003, so I SAW what was happening every day.
And some of what I saw was that, one: you can't trust the majority of Iraqis, two: the Iraqis have a very poor ability to analyze and solve problems, partly because of their strong religious convictions lead them around instead of logic and organized thought, and the other part is they're just not intelligent along with being unmotivated and lazy.
Do you doubt me? Did you ever look around that place? Iraq is sitting on loads of oil and therefore has plenty of money. Yet the place looks like a backwards and primitive third-world country. People are still using donkeys and horses, trash and filth are EVERYWHERE. Pollution is horrendous. Every social system is in a sad state, from schools to hospitals and medical care, to government, obviously.
The place is a lost cause, and it's because of the attitude of its people, and that won't change, democracy or not. If you don't like the US being there, then go strap a bomb to yourself and make a point, like the many before you. That will solve your problems, wont it?
ok here is the facts 9/11 did not lead up to the iraq war. 9/11 was the reason for the afghanistan war. through 9/11 certian policies where made that help contribute to the iraq war but they were not the main reasons for the war in iraq they were just supporting reasons for the declaration of war. We went to iraq for WMD's and to remove saddam from power for hepling/ haboring terrorist.
dats true bush is a dumbass but we the people of the USA can stand up for ourselves we dont need the government so fuck u aliwswwe ur a piece of shit! ur country blows ours!
fuck u aliWswe, america may not be a perfect country, but that doesnt mean that all ppl are bad in america, so stfu u bastard, i mean how would u like it if 3,000 ppl died in your country from a terroist attack huh, go to hell
Very good Sir. I don't think anyone can consider you a amateur director. Quite pro. I saw a program on the Military Ch. last night called War Tapes. I hope you have seen it as well. God bless you all and your families.
Nice one, good vedio, just want to mention that the strenth of any country is not what its presedent says, saddam said the same thing to iraqi army while he was killing the poor people of iran after his invasion, the strenth of usa is by its people;s will and fairness towards others, there are so many nations gone by time and more will come, but the only one will be remembered is the fair nation not the strongest.thank you.
i grew up a navy brat, and it was always a little tough when dad went away. that last little clip with the soldiers coming home really hit home. i can't imagine the stress on the famalies.
This is really great. You never see this stuff in the media. I would love to get a good quality copy of it and would be more than happy to pay you. Wish I had taken alot more pictures when I was in Vietnam. You will really be glad you did this when you are older
Thanks, and you're right. A couple other people wanted it too, so if you'd like a copy, I just put it up on Ebay. Easiest way I think. Just search for the title.
Yeah, Vietnam....now that was a real war. Hooah brother.

The "thousands" of innocent Iraqi people have been killed by the insurgent's IED's and car bombs, not by the hand of US soldiers, you moron.
Unless you consider the insurgents as "innocent".
The beginning of the video depicts the events (9/11) that led up to the war, not whether they are right or wrong, wake up.
