The disease was determined the day before during the ayahuasca ceremony by the main shaman, that's when the diagnose was made then the guy was sent to see the woman doctor.

What Rosita (the shaman woman) is doing is healing this man from a stomach infection.
He was cured and felt much better afterwards.
This is part of the many healing techniques used by the Shipibos, but the documentary mainly focuses on the use of Ayahuasca.
